As everyone who talks to me over IM might know, I bought a pinball machine.

It arrived today. surprised First, the bad news. The shippers damaged the dome on top of the pinball machine, shattering it, and part of the backglass was broken too. This was a real bummer to me...I got a great deal on the machine and now I'll have to pay for replacement parts AND wrangle with the shipping company on the claim. Luckily I found the damage before I signed for the shipment and made sure they marked it on the bill of lading.

The second problem was that when I plugged it in, it wouldn't start! gonk It came on a pallet with the legs removed so we tried plugging it in and lifting it up to turn on the switch on the underside of the machine.

I called the guy I bought it from and he was really polite but had no idea why it wouldn't work. So I decided that I'd at least put the legs on and set it up...another pain, because the damn thing weighs nearly 250 pounds. After we got it on it's legs, I put the plug in and decided to try again. And this time it worked! I think that perhaps the plug in the back of the machine had come loose the first time we tried it out.

The machine is awesome. It's actually at my work right now but after this claims thing is figured out, I'll be bringing it home to roost with the other machines.

Oh man, they damaged it?? What a bummer! Hopefully the replacement process won't be as bad as you think it will. I'm sure you're happy that you can entertain your coworkers while you're busy working

It's one of the banes of my mp3 player that my music collection isn't entirely sorted, so that's what I'm doing today. I'm sorting all my albums and random songs, killing the duplicates and making sure everything is properly tagged while I wait for mister postman since I'm expecting a package.

I want to know how the hell a Chesney Hawkes song and my 2006 tax forms ended up in the Wicked soundtrack folder. I also want to know why one song has just randomly gone missing from my entire computer.

Unknown artist? UNKNOWN ARTIST? It's Billy Joel for god's sake, you mean in all the vast internet you couldn't figure out who BILLY JOEL is? What make you think the then acceptable thing was to label it with a cover from an 80s new wave CD?

Devo never covered Uptown Girl.

Although that would've been pretty awesome. ninja

It's the little things that make music sorting so infuriating. I'll tag everything properly but sometimes the system just doesn't care and will throw things where ever it feels like.

And what's worse is when I have to correct other people's bad tags. stressed

Latest: Apocalyptica is the same thing as Yo Yo Ma. Right, four great big blonde Sweedes and on tiny little ethnically Chinese guy.
