Earendil laughed again. "Well then, I'm sure we can try to stay awake as long as possible. Though I must admit, I'm at a bit of a loss. What should we do?"

He had a feeling there wouldn't be any more wrestling tonight, not after what had happened the first time, though that had been interesting to watch. He wondered if they had other kinds of competitions. They hadn't really had the chance to stay with the Night Elves on their first visit, after all: they'd mapped the place and left, basically.

She had him there.

"Well ... yes," he admitted, a little embarrassed by her perception. "But I don't know many people, and those I had intended to speak with have either gotten busy or disappeared."

The only people he knew were Haldia, Leyenda and her family, and the elders - and he had a feeling the elders were busy with Cald and might not be free for a while. Though he supposed it wouldn't hurt to check.

Earendil grinned. "Next time," he agreed with a nod. "Definitely."

As for what they would do the rest of this particular night ...

He looked around a bit. Kelirahc and Leyenda were making the rounds with Amalirahc, talking to just about everyone they saw; the elders ...

He blinked. The elders were indeed busy, but not with Cald, as he had expected. Haldia was talking with three of the elders while the others had gone off somewhere else, and Celeb was standing next to them, possibly taking part in the conversation, though it looked as though he were just listening.

"Maybe we should finish that conversation with Celeb," he suggested to Lin. "Find out exactly what his injuries are."

He was still worried about his cousin, after all.

Earendil nodded and took Lin's hand, and led them over to where Celeb was standing with the others.

"Hey," Celeb greeted them with a nod as they drew closer. "What's up?"

"We're just wondering how you are," Earendil replied. "We got interrupted earlier."

Celeb half smiled. "Thanks," he murmured. "But I think it's not as bad as it looks. I know, the bandages are ominous ... but I don't think anything is broken. Bruised, definitely, but I don't think broken."

He winced. "Except maybe my nose. I have never seen anyone so cowardly ..."

He couldn't understand how Cald had gotten a wolf mark in the first place. Had it been his family mark? Or had it had a personal meaning as well?

Celeb nodded. "Only a coward would attack someone from behind," he told Lin flatly. "But yes, I hope that things will calm down now. The wrestling match ... that was a lot of fun, and I think, if I had been more awake, I might have beaten him. But I guess even just to try is out of the question for me now."

Not that he would, anyways, until his waking hours coincided with the Night Elves'. He had been wrestling after being awake and working for close to twenty hours.

"On the other hand," he added, slipping one hand into the pocket holding the necklace, "I think I'm going to have to be more careful ... about everything."

Celeb's face flushed, but before he could say anything, Earendil interrupted. "She didn't mean you, she was talking about the other guys," he said quickly. "The ones that have been bothering Haldia since she got back."

Celeb nodded, and some of the colour faded from his face. "Sorry," he muttered. "I've just had ... too many people doubting me today."

Oddly enough, Haldia was one of the few people who was actually taking him seriously.
