It isn't just you, I have been having a hard time doing things on gaia too. But I think this is only temporary so ignore it, What I do is refresh the page then go back one it usually works for a while.

In the first thing you said it essentially says "If you dont want to die horribly, the cake needs to be real." And then in the second thing you say, you are essentially contradicting yourself because the first thing you said was said in an absolute fashion. (using 'unless') So because of that, saying that the opposite is true "too" is contradictory.
