Sammirah In Canada, it depends on the generation. Under 30s generally know their way around the net, but with my older friends it's funny how impressed they often are with what I know about computers (which really isn't that much). gaia_nitemareleft In here usually the under 30s generation might know how to use computers, internet etc. fluetnly but a lot of them are clueless when it comes to the "internet culture" eg. memes, spotting who is troling in the conversation or knowing what are scams/malicious links. The older folks in here are in overall pretty clueless with the whole computer concept and they might know how to use it with emails and basic stuff, but nothing more. Btw, those event valentine messages are hilarious! xd gaia_angelright

Btw, those event valentine messages are hilarious! xd gaia_angelright My experience has been that, with people anywhere in the 35 - 55 range, they are pretty savvy about certain kinds of social websites (such as Facebook and Pinterest) when it has to do with things like family pics, sharing crafts/recipes, e-invitations, making appointments..etc. Also if it's work related they've kept up with all the word processing and spreadsheet stuff. I have a friend in her late 40's that designs web pages for businesses and her work is not considered weird. But when it comes to games - both mmos and social/game sites like this, they are either unaware of them (except as something their kid does), or don't really understand what use they are. If I were to bring gaia up or swtor up to some of the other school moms my age they're eyes would kind of glaze over and then the conversation would get really awkward. The younger "internet culture" (as Lilygwen aptly named it) would be more of a challenge then the technical end.

I didn't even know the series was still ongoing. Of course I haven't actually sat down with the purpose of watching a television show in several months, so my lack of awareness regarding TV doesn't really mean much (although I guess you could call it an unintended commentary on how dull TV has become).

Sammirah Ahh, Glee was so good tonight! whee Does anyone else still watch it? Definitely tuning in next week! I have a sort of love - hate relationship with Glee. Several characters regularly annoy me but I can't help watching. I don't know what it is... Speaking of guilty pleasures though - does anyone else watch Arrow? off topic: I'm so mad I didn't collect the anniversary prize from yesterday! I got too busy and forgot. Now I won't get the prize for collecting all of them. I hope it won't be too expensive to buy off the marketplace.

I hope too that the item's aren't overly expensive. gaia_angelright
