Valerie pouted slightly at Lance, not really worried that Mystique had entered the house. The sudden crash on the floor made Valerie jump slightly. Her azure gaze turned to the floor and to Toad who had landed on the floor in a heap. Holding out a long fingered hand the Blonde blinked dumbly.

"Need a hand?"

She asked looking down at Toad, Mizu gulped looking into the males mouth to see a yellow toothed grin. Shivering slightly he hid behind Valerie's leg in an uncharacteristic way

"Thats pretty creepy...ever thought of getting anything done about that?"

The little critter grimaced clutching Valerie's leg warmer with his watery fingers. Valerie's attention turned away from Toad to her little friend. The pout turned into a whimpering expression, which then turned into and evil grin.

"Ha...who's scared now you little freak!"

Valerie said loudly to Mizu who morphed to the same size as his mistress, pushing her shoulder slighty in an angry way, he was attempting to start a fight with his keeper...Valerie soon pulled her hand away from Toad forgetting that she had just offered him a hand up and glared at Mizu. The two then proceeded to slap each other in a childish fashion...Just the thing Mystique would 'love' to see from her crack team of mutants. It must have been a momentus occasion as she had also forgotten to argue with Lance!

Blade looked over at Sara.
"So, where is this . . . Professor?" She asked calmly. She wanted to know so much. Yet at the same time she was worried. But Blade shoved her fear away so that she could concentrate on the now.

(Sorry, got busy.)

Sara shook her head. "Oh, sorry." She told Blade. "He's this way." Seh said and turned marching down a hall that same pleasant smile on her face. "He's really nice." She addedto her co-patriot. Seconds later she passed a crashed out Damon and knocked. Gently on his door.

"Please come in Sara." Professer Xavier said tapping a stack of papers so they were nice and neat and sliding them into a file folder. When she entered he motioned to Damon. "Would you be so kind as to see Damon up to a spare room?" She nodded and he motioned for Blade to enter and take a seat. "Please come in and sit down."

Sara nodded and walked out after letting Blade through. "All right sir. I'll see ya'll later Blade." She said with a bright smile and a wave before nudging the door shut with her hip. Once that was taken care of she leaned over and carefully scooped Damon up. To her he weighed almost nothing. She walked him upstairs and slipped into the first empty room she found. She gently settled him on the bed. "Night night." She wispered and slipped out of the room shuting the door behind her.

Oh yea that woman had plans. Lizz had been around the block often enough to be able to see the wheels inside Mystiques' head turning. The only question was what did she have planned for them.

((That's fine))

Blade followed Sara quietly, waiting to form her own opinion. She wasn't so happy about the thought that he could look into her mind and probably control it. The young woman stuffed her hands into her jacket as she walked down the hall that lead to this man.

When the man motioned to her to come in, she did so. However, she was cautious. Sitting in one of his chairs, Blade kept her eyes on him.
"Hello." There was no cheer in her voice. Just caution.

Rogue was about halfway through with her combat book, when she decided she'd had enough. She tossed it aside and rolled off of her bed, then went and turned off the music.

'Maybe one of the others is up to something interesting,' she thought as she left her room, shutting the door behind her.

Had anyone within earshot of the Brotherhood's front hall had cared to listen, they would have heard the familiar sound of Mystique's eyeballs rolling slowly in the back of her head.

As if the thought of her team doing absolutely nothing of consequence in the time she was absent was not enough to put her in a bad mood, the crack comments and childish fighting was enough to drive her up the wall. Disgraceful. Here they were, the select few that were superior to the human race, born with gifts others could only dream about and what did they do with it?

Nothing.

She could have sworn she had raised them all to be better, more self-efficient then this, but no...obviously that was just to much for their teenage-mush brains to handle. Mystique would have to break them in again, it seemed, which she had to admit, was getting to be a tiresome task....

"That's it," she scoffed, her voice elevating to a level that it reverberated off the high ceiling. "The Brotherhood is having a meeting NOW! Either attend, suited up and ready to go or clear out your rooms and leave!"

Markus almost flinched when he heard Mystique call them all for a meeting. Be suited up? He just got here. He swallowed the rest of the pizza down and walked into the parlor to see her there possitively fuming. He opted not to open his mouth since she seemed like she was in such a foul mood over something or other.

The professer could hear the caution in her voice. "My name is Charles Xavier and I'd like to welcome you here." He said deciding to start off on the right foot. He gave her a concerned look. "Is something bothering you?" He asked deciding to get whatever was bothering her out into the open. He didn't pry unless it was important. Most people didn't like someone peeking into their minds and he tried to respect that.

--------------------------------------------------

Lizz winced when she shouted like that to call them to order. A meeting? Now she was going to have to go get dressed. Walking up to her room she quickly got changed and reported back downstairs. Like Markus she opted to keep her mouth shut.

Blade, one that had been taught that lying usually screws you over in the long run, decided to be straight with the telepath.
"I . . . don't like the idea of you being able to read my mind . . . or control it." Blade admited. She started straight at him with her green eyes. "Plus . . . I don't know that much about this place. Sara said there weren't any mad scientists but how do I know that for sure?" Anyone else would have not gone with their paranoia as she did. But then again . . . Blade Moore did have an overactive imagination.

"Ah, geez. First I can't even burn down a circus, and now this comes up." Tobias headed back into the kitchen to stick his head out the window. "Aarin! Get in and suit up! Meeting time!" He then followed his own advice, descending to his bare-concrete basement room to get changed.

"Damnit, I just got in!" Aarin clambered out of the pool and stepped up to his second-story room, changed as quickly as possible, and headed downstairs again.

((I'll probably end up making their Bhood suits in Heromachine before long and then post the pics in the art subforum, or link to them in the OOC chat.))

Conner walked slowly beside Victoria while he casually grabbed items off of the shelves of Aisle four: Tinned food, mainly tins of meat and vegetables but the odd tin of beans and spaghetti made it in. He rounded the corner of the aisle and wondered where next to go

"So how did you come to be at Xavier's?" He asked Victoria.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 09, 2007 5:03 am

The professer nodded. "A very valid concern and one that more than one student has had or still has." He said as he shifted a few papers out of his way absently his mind not really on them. "I can only assure you that I make every effort to respect the privacy of the students here. I do not go looking through their minds unless I am invited to do so for what ever reason a student would have. I also would never try to control your mind." He told her being totally honest with her. "I usually will simply speak to you using telepathy. Other than that your mind is your own."

Mad scientists? Xavier was a master at keeping his features schooled and managed to not even twitch an eye at that thought even thouggh it had to be one of the more bizzare concerns he had faced before. "We do have one resident doctor." He informed her. "His name is Hank McCoy, but he's far from the mad scientist type, he's usually down in the infirmery or in his workshop running mainenance on the equipment that is used in the infirmery for emergencies. If you want you could go down and see for yourself you're more then welcome to but I assure you, you are quiet safe here." He said trying to put her at ease. "We don't conduct experiments on people here or condone experimentation on them. The lower sub-basement has a number of areas that would seem out of a science fiction book but I assure you there's no mad scientists here. All the equipment is used to either treat someone who has been injured through an accident or it's to help other mutants work with their powers so that they can gain a better understanding of them and a better control of them as well."

Blade stared at Xavier for a few minutes before sighing. He seemed honest . . . and her crapometer didn't go off . . .
"Um . . . I've been told that my imagination can get pretty wild . . ." She muttered softly but she had not doubt that he heard her. "Well, my name's Blade. Honestly, it is. Long story short, dad didn't want me to have a 'weak name' in his opinion and wanted me to be unique. So, he named me Blade." She smiled at Xavier weakly. Thinking of her family worried her but she still had to control her powers. Before they got too dangerous.

As expected, none of the Brotherhood teens questioned her authority, and within a few silence filled moments, they had all reported back to the living room, suited up in their battlewares, just like she had requested. Mystique was moderately surprised at this, to be honest. They had not gone stupid between now and a day ago...

"Alright," started Mystique, gazing around at all of them with the look of utmost seriousness on her face. "This is what we are going to do. There are a certain few mutants that I know will be more then exemplary additions to the Brotherhood team. All we need to do is locate them and recruit them to our side before Xavier and his fledgling mutant team can interfere.

"According to my sources, two of those mutants are currently residing in Bayville but we will only focus on the one for now. She is somewhere in the secluded and rocky Western end of the Bayville park."

"We leave now," she added, as she continued to gaze sternly down at her team. She let that all to familiar smirk pass over her face as she turned to leave through the door she had only just come through. All of them were silently ordered to follow and within an hours time, they would find themselves standing in the dark, outside a cave. Mutant Number One for recruiting was just inside...

Rounding the corner along with Conner, Victoria did not blink or even pause as the question of her back story came into play. She simply continued on to the next aisle and added a few more items to her basket before speaking.

"Mother and Father, dear," she started, her voice even, one may go far as to say it was airy, yet the sarcasm was still there, of course. "Just could not seem to handle the fact that I, was of he 'gifted' generation. So they made some calls, blah blah, packed me off and now I'm here, teamed up with the X-Geeks. End of story,"

Finishing with nothing more then an unceremonial shrug of the shoulders, Victoria glanced up at Conner before dropping a dropped a few containers of Spam into her basket before starting off down the aisle again.

Deep in the cave that the Brotherhood were approaching, X-23 was dreaming....

She checked her wrist for what seemed like the hundredth time as she fled the scene of her latest mission. The clock said 23:58:26. She was already running full out, but she tried to speed up anyways. If she didn't make it to the pick up spot in the next 94 seconds, she'd get left behind. As it was, Rice would probably tell Kimura 23 was late just to watch her bleed.
The door! Finally! 23 shoved her way through and out onto the roof where the helicopter was waiting. And sure enough, there was Rice tapping his watch and smirking at her. He swung himself inside just as she got within reaching distance of the copter's hand grips. She leapt onto the runners and grabbed on tight to the grips, knowing that the vehicle would take off the moment Rice was inside. The pilot manuvered them into the air, and 23 carefully climbed inside and took her seat.
"You were late again, Animal. I'm going to have to tell you handler her lessons aren't getting through your thick skull," Rice yelled over the noise in the cabin.
23 knew better than to argue. That would only make things worse when she reached the base. She sat in silence wondering what Kimura would do to her this time, then she heard a noise that didn't fit. It was she sound of breaking twigs.

X-23 sat bolt upright, her claws emerging as she did so. There was someone, or perhaps many someones outside the cave.
