"Stop talking down to you like you're some sort of moron?" Mitsu reiterated, "Looks like someone doesn't like being on the receiving end. Isn't nice is it?" This wasn't the first time he spoken to her in that tone. The boy thought he knew everything. That he was so damn special. It irritated Mitsu. She was special too. Her existence meant something in the world, she knew it did. She didn't need crap from a boy who couldn't even manage to keep his mind, or his body for that matter, in one piece.
She'd stopped rocking back and forth and was now looking at the tattered boy before her. It was just the Rockets. Her past. It made her mean. She felt truly mean. Mean and bitter. Anything that had to do with that time, with those scientists, it made her angry. Mike had simply been the person to provoke it, talking about her 'powers' as if they were something amazing. But the both of them yelling at each other wasn't going to solve anything. She sighed, shaking her head, it was unproductive.
"I don't care that your mom was a scientist. Both of my foster parents were too," she replied, speaking in even tones, the former malice and bitter edge gone. "You're not the only one who's intelligent." Though she had to admit his apparent level of intelligence was a surprise. He'd always been head first about everything. Like the time they went to challenge Winnoa. He merely scaled the walls while Mitsu ran through the puzzle like it was nothing. Two different approaches with the same result.
The girl continued, rambling like he had been earlier, completely ignoring his question for the time being. "It's funny, Mike. You became two-faced and I got annoyed. I become two-faced and you get annoyed. Don't you miss the old days when we were 'normal'? When neither of us had powers or remembered our crazy pasts?" The girl questioned, her voice monotone. She look up at him, her eyes returning to their normal purple, free of malice and anger, a few tears building up in the corners.
She took a deep breath, rubbing the tears from her eyes. And then she remembered both Keegan's and Portabello's words. Maybe if she shared her past she would feel better. Though she couldn't help but question her choice of the recipient of her far flung tale. In all honestly, she would have been more comfortable with the explosive redhead, not that that would have been comfortable. Not by a long shot.
Mitsu's purple orbs met with Mike's green ones. She looked him hard in the eyes, focusing. He was the first person she had trusted on her adventure. . . and she could still trust him now. "Team Rocket and I go way back," she began, laughing almost, "Much farther back than even Kilik. You see, when I was younger, seven to be exact, Team Rocket decided to do some experiments on humans, mostly children too. They wanted to give humans the power of Pokemon, I suppose. And I happened to be one of their last trials." The purple haired girl stopped, feel unable to go further. There was so much more to the story, but Mike's presence and attitude gave her doubt.
Damn. She really didn't know the meaning of consistency.

Sam bit her lip as the Butterfree shone, and watched the sky. She could hardly see the tiny blue speck that was Devlin. Devlin suddenly flipped around, aimed for the Butterfree, and tucked his wings in. He dove as fast as his tiny body would allow. His sharp beak was pointed towards the Butterfly Pokemon as he silently but swiftly approached. Sam couldn't help holding her breath. 'Cmon Devlin, you can do this. We practiced this one earlier. Don't be hesitant now.' Sam was delighted to see that Devlin showed no signs of slowing down, or pulling out of the dive. She watched Bugsy for his next move when Devlin came within a few feet of the Butterfree.

For one of the few times in his life Dante was pretty lucky, the newspaper he was reading had an advertisement in it for the Veilstone department store. Now that he had a destination in mind Dante felt a bit better, there was only so much lazing around that he could do. With that in mind Dante decided to finish his paper before he headed off towards the department store.
About a half an hour later Dante figured he was done and with his breakfast and after paying for the meal he put his messenger bag over his shoulder and picked up the egg that was resting on the ground. Every time he picked the thing up it seemed to get a little heavier. The pokemon inside probably wouldn't hatch for a little while though, he had only gotten it the other day and the breeder had said so himself. It didn't really matter to much though, all he had to do was get to the edge of town and then he could ask Apollo to carry the egg for him. With the Rapidash on his side he could travel places a lot faster then if he had a bike with him.
With his arms full of a heavy pokemon egg Dante headed off towards the edge of one of Jubilife's many exits ignoring anyone who tried to talk to him. He wasn't really in the mood to deal with people today and he was pretty sure they didn't have anything important to say. The walk was pretty short when you avoided any sort of human interaction. When he finally made it he reached into his bag with one hand and fiddled around until he pulled Apollo's pokeball out. Clicking it open he released the impressive silver Rapidash. "Good morning Apollo." Dante muttered as he put the ball back and placing the egg in his satchel he hung that over Apollo's neck. "It's getting a little heavy." He muttered as an explanation.
Snorting Apollo just shook his head slightly sending a few embers down to the ground. Maybe Hera was right and his trainer did need to start working out some. The egg wasn't that heavy and he shouldn't be so lazy to get his pokemon to carry his things for him. He would have to have another word with the Heracross. Apollo didn't complain though and bared the burden easily as he watched his trainer check the map on his pokenavi.

"Eris!" Riza cried, making it from her position to the fallen Quilava in only a few strides, thanks to her long legs. She knelt down and carefully picked her up and cradled her, sighing with relief when Eris' eyes fluttered open. Faustus had crept over to her side, looking very much ashamed of himself. He hadn't meant to hurt Eris, and felt quite bad about it. "Don't worry, Faustus, she's okay," Riza told him. To show this was true, and that there were no hard feelings, Eris nodded as well, reaching out and patting his nose with a paw. The Dratini was definitely tough, and Eris knew that she would have to work extra hard to keep up with him. For now, though, she wanted nothing more than to sleep, and she did just that, snuggling up against her trainer, and she was out in seconds. For a few minutes Riza held her, replaying the last few attacks in her mind. She smiled when she realized that Eris had learned Flame Wheel, and she kissed the Quilava's head before returning her to her poke ball. She patted Faustus as she stood up and looked around.
Akima had wandered over to check on her teammate while Plua continued to perch in the tree, glaring at all of them. "Had enough training for now?" Riza asked the Sneasel, who nodded. "That's fine, I think you're in top form already," Riza added, though she was starting to wonder about her lineup for tonight's contest. Yula's evolution, while completely wonderful and awesome, had been unexpected, and it made Riza wonder if perhaps she should switch Yula and Akima's positions. Yula's stronger attacks might be more of an asset in the battles portion of the contest, and she knew that Akima could shine if she was doing appeals or battles. The Sneasel was a natural born showoff, there would be no problems there. She looked back at Faustus, then over to Plua. "Well, since you two are the only ones left, get to it," she said, clapping her hands.
Faustus nodded once and got into position, looking over at the Fearow as she continued to sit in the tree, weighing her options. The serpentine Pokemon seemed pretty tough but she was sure she could best him, and after a few more moments of deliberation she flapped her wings and left her perch, cawing noisily as she approached the Dratini. Again, Riza decided not to give orders and instead sat down on the grass to watch. Akima plopped down next to her trainer, though she wasn't overly interested in what her teammates were doing. * * * * * The foam from the Corsola's destroyed bubbles splattered against the Geodude's rocky hide, doing decent damage, but it wasn't enough to bring the Pokemon down just yet. Her defenses against special attacks were still being bolstered thanks to the raging sands. "Shake it off, and use Rock Tomb again," Roxanne commanded. She'd taken just enough of a step back to avoid the sandstorm, though the winds still tousled her hair and ruffled her skirt. She was truly in her element.
Geodude gave a grunt and smashed the rocky ground with her powerful fists once again, taking careful aim to send more spears of stone shooting up from the ground where the Corsola would land. The pink Pokemon was easy to track thanks to her bright pink body, and though Roxanne didn't have high hopes for her Geodude to come out of this first round the winner, she hoped they could at least bang her up a little bit before she was forced to send out her next Pokemon.

For a moment, Kasiya almost smiled, but she concentrated and forced it away. She was still a little upset at Keegan, even though she'd managed to justify his actions (though truth be told, the redhead could probably go on a murderous rampage and level the countryside and she'd still find some way to justify it in her naive little mind, so was her love for him) but she didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that just yet, and she still didn't look his way, even when he took a seat beside her. She wrinkled her nose as the cigarette smoke assailed her senses and she forced an obvious and fake cough, hoping it would pass along the message that Keegan's company was quite welcome, but his gross habit was not.
"It is a nice night," she replied finally, looking back up at the starry sky. "Cinnabar is a very nice place. I like it here." She remembered back to when she'd had the rematch with her dad, frowning slightly at the memory of Hiro's leg being injured. It had healed over quite nicely by now, but it was still hard to think about. After that match, her father had mentioned the abandoned mansion on Cinnabar Island, and how it was overrun with all sorts of wild Pokemon. She perked up a bit at that thought, and looked towards the redhead. "Wanna go check out the old Cinnabar Mansion? It's supposed to be rundown and abandoned, and wild Pokemon supposedly live there, too. I've also heard that it's haunted." She paused for a moment to let the creepy factor sink in, and she grinned. "So, wanna go?"
=-=-=-=-= Karrigan smiled her trademark little smile, and nodded in agreement, though she wasn't sure if 'angry' was adequate enough to describe the Beedrill's feelings. The redheaded girl looked over at Ikouma, who wore the faintest of smirks. About the only time the Sneasel ever did smile or grin was when he was engaged in battle. He took several steps back as Callistra focused her energy, his crimson eyes never straying away from the Poison Bee Pokemon. He raised his right arm ever so slightly, moving his claws in a 'come and get me' fashion.
Karrigan quickly recognized it as one of Ikouma's favourite tactics, Taunt, and she shook her head lightly. It wasn't as though Callistra needed any more incentive to try and turn him into a pincushion. You'd better be ready to dodge whatever she throws at you, Karrigan mused, directing her thoughts at the Sneasel, even though he couldn't hear them. She just hoped this battle would end on good terms, as she didn't want one of Ven's Pokemon hating one of hers.
=-=-=-=-= The most prominent thing that went through Jake's mind when Robin kissed him back (other than the fact that it didn't trigger a flash) was Hey, she didn't punch me! He shivered involuntarily as she pulled him closer and he wrapped both arms around her, suddenly very reluctant to let her go, even though the kiss hadn't forced any memories to the surface.
Turtwig, noticing his trainer and friend were no longer right behind them, looked away from Black*Star as he was busily etching his signature into yet another bare patch of ground to see what the holdup was, and he stopped and stared, golden eyes bulging somewhat comically at the two humans. He suddenly wondered if those two hikers had been infected with some sort of strange disease and now Jake and Robin had caught it. He tore his gaze away from the two and stared at the ground as he drew circles with his foot, suddenly knowing just how that Geodude and Gible had felt. Geez, these two were embarrassing!
Finally snapping back to reality, Jake smiled and chuckled a bit, pulling away from the redhead somewhat hesitantly. "Uh, well, that was fun," he said, his face now demonstrating just how many shades of red there truly were in the world. He was a little disappointed that no flashes or memories had been triggered, but he couldn't deny that it hadn't been a fun 'experiment', either. He continued to smile at Robin, still blushing slightly, also very much sure that this wasn't what Professor Rowan had meant when he said 'study things that interest you.'

Keegan chuckled at Kasiya's not-so-subtle method of telling him she wasn't fond of his smoking, and he quickly finished it off and stepped on it. "Sorry, but it helps to calms my nerves," he explained with a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders, though he couldn't help but feel a bit guilty about it. The realization of said guilt made him frown, as normally he didn't even care about what his own mother had thought of his smoking, but somehow, knowing that Kasiya didn't like it almost made him want to quit again, right then and there. Almost.
He followed her gaze up to the dark sky once again, focusing on a brightly twinkling star that almost seemed to be sitting between them. He put his hands palms-down on the concrete and leaned back, keeping Kasiya in his peripheral vision. It was times like these that he wished he were a mind reader, as knowing what was going on inside that pretty little head of hers for once would make his life so much easier. Keegan didn't know if she was going to start yelling at him for his stupidity (a common occurrence, he knew, as only a fool would try to deny that), or start crying because of all the stress she was under. He thought back to her devastated expression when she admitted to losing Shocker to Mai and his heart cracked a little, as the ever-present guilt took an attack of opportunity and stabbed at him. He knew he had to tell her the truth about what had really happened that evening. The truth about the battle, and Mai, and his botched attempt at retrieving the stolen Raichu. He closed his eyes and sighed, hating himself for all the stupid choices he'd made in the past, and the ones he continued to make now, in the present.
He was in the process of psyching himself up to start spitting out the truth when Kasiya quite suddenly turned to him, her eyes wide and bright at the prospect of adventure. Almost instantly, his previous thoughts had been drowned out, like a weak campfire that had been doused with a large bucket of water. "What, now?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he checked his watch. It was pretty late, but he still felt wide awake, and he reminded himself that insomnia was his friend, not sleep. He'd heard about that mansion before, as it was one of the more famous "haunted" locations in Kanto, though he remembered Kasiya bringing it up a while ago, as well. She'd planned on going there to do some training, but she'd gotten sidetracked, traveling around with him instead. Unable to stop himself, he grinned back at her, getting to his feet. "Sure, why not? Sounds fun, and... creepy," he laughed, holding out his hand to help her up, though he wouldn't have been surprised if she swatted it away. ===== Bugsy's gaze flickered up to the tiny dot that was the Murkrow, then back to his Butterfree for a split second. They'd encountered flying enemies a few times now, and he hoped that the Butterfly Pokemon would remember the counters they'd been practicing. "You know what to do," he said quickly, eyes on the Murkrow once again.
The Butterfly nodded, folding its wings inward as Devlin rocketed down from the sky. Butterfree relaxed its body and waited. It waited until it could hear the rush of air on the bird's wings, and then all at once it spread its own wings wide, sending a cloud of golden yellow spores into the air around it. This was a fraction of a second before the Murkrow slammed into it. Butterfree cried out in pain, as the previous Harden hadn't been nearly enough to defend from the attack. When it was over the Butterfly's chest was heaving and its antennae were drooping. It wouldn't take much to take it down now, but that was assuming Devlin could fight off the Stun Spore that had just been released in his face. Let's see how well you can fly while you're paralyzed, Bugsy thought, his face nearly breaking into a smile. Even if he couldn't win this, he intended to leave Sam with the knowledge of just how amazing and wonderful and versatile Bug-type Pokemon were. ===== Miharu winced when she saw the look on Bugsy's face. She knew that look - it was the look of someone who knew exactly how to counter the oncoming attack. She pursed her lips and glanced up to where Devlin was, watching with amazement at how fast he was coming in. She idly wondered if Butterfree would have time to react to it, and what exactly it would do, but it became apparent the moment the could of golden spores was released into the air. Miharu frowned. Paralysis was never easy to deal with. She looked over at the Butterfree, relieved to see that it appeared to be on its last legs. "Come on, Sam! You can do it!" she shouted suddenly, jumping to her feet and clapping loudly. "You can beat 'em!"

Sam was surprised and startled by Miharu's sudden outburst, and she spun and waved to her, before turning back to Devlin. He seemed to have shaken most of the Stun Spore off, but Sam could see that he was already slowing down, his wings beating jerkily to keep him aloft. Sam found herself smiling, which surprised her since she expected to be frowning at her disadvantage. She guessed it was because this was quickly becoming a very intense battle, very intricate and strategic, just how Sam liked it.
"Devlin, how you feelin'?" Devlin crowed weakly. He wasn't hurt too badly, but he couldn't fly very well and every once in awhile his wings would miss a beat, and he come dangerously low to the ground. Sam bit her lip. "Dev, come on. One more hit, that's all I need you to do. Fight through it okay?" Devlin nodded uncertainly. "Okay, we'll do something easy then. Drill Peck!" Devlin tried as hard as he could to comply with Sam's orders, but he only got a little higher then the Butterfree before he felt his wings locking.
'Oh no...Oh no oh no oh no...It's too soon!' Devlin thought to himself. However, he gave up and simply stopped beating his wings, not bothering to fight the paralyzing effect. He didn't believe he could beat it. He flipped around, and gave a half-hearted spin while his beak glowed. He was only a few feet from the Butterfree, which meant it was harder to avoid, but it would only have a fraction of the power it had had previously. Sam's heart fell as she watched Devlin give up and dive at the Butterfree.
'Oh...poor baby. Devlin, we need to teach you to never give up! Try try try again!' Sam repeated in her head, a mantra her dad had drilled in her since she was little.

Jaeshan's face wasn't the only red one when the kiss ended. The redheads face was close to matching her hair. "Eh-heh, yeah, um... Thank you for that." Oh geez that was so lame! Even to her that was lame! "Ah, sorry! That was a little lame! Sorry for that." Robin giggled somewhat nervously. Ok so Jaeshan had kissed her and she had kissed him back what do they do from this point on? She really had no clue, she had never had any experience with this kind of thing before. It was then that she remembered what he had said before he had kissed her. "Um, you said something about an experiment? Did that help any?" She didn't want to seem like a jerk and pressure him into something he probably didn't really want. Even if it had been a really nice kiss, at least from what she could tell.
Black*Star had been running around leaving his signatures around when he glanced back at his trainer and the other boy. The Totodile managed to catch the end of the kiss and he couldn't help but give a sort of snicker. Well it looked like his trainer found someone to spend the night with, though how a Totodile knew that was a mystery. Stopping the Totodile watched the two while they stood there and acting all weird with each other. Maybe those two crazy hikers had been right about them?

Mike chuckled at Mitsu's response. "Remember." he repeated to himself. "What a loaded word. Normal, that's even worse. Ha ha." He began to laugh, but quickly threw a hand over his mouth. He convulsed slightly as his body struggled for air and its need to showcase his emotions in one of the only ways it knew how.
Mitsu calmed down slightly, instead opting to actually explain herself. "Human experimentation..." he murmured, listening to her story. He nodded as Mitsu spoke, unintentionally continuing after she had stopped. "Wait, yeah? That's it? Is there anything else?" He blinked in confusion. This was so strange. He wasn't expecting this to happen. He just wanted to bring Mitsu up to tell her that he was thankful for her little fixing up she did to him, and that he really appreciated the help she offered. But as soon as he saw her, something inside him egged him on to ask her about her gifts. Before he could stop himself, this was happening.

Kenneth remained silent for the rest of the treatment, concentrating only on the task at hand. It took a bit longer than he had expected but eventually all the stitches were in place. Every gash in Crenu's hand was sewn up tight and the bleeding had stopped, a good sign in the highway of disaster that everyone seemed to be traveling down right now. "That's ridiculousness. There's no genetic link with his illness, the odds of you contracting it are slim to none." He said finally as he dabbed away the remaining blood and water that was on Crenu's hand. "It's all in your head. There's another reason for...um, this. You should ice this hand by the way. Prevent swelling and all that." As Ken said this he took out the role of bandages in the medicine cabinet and started bandaging Crenu's stitched up hand again. "Oh, really? I suppose I'm not clotting for the hell of it then. Slim to none isn't the same as none. However mathematically improbable as it is, it's not impossible. And even if it's not the same disease it's still something bad. This has only become apparent because of the fact that I've been getting injured a lot lately. But other than that I've been fine, so I can't say for certain just how bad it's gotten." As Crenu spoke he rummaged through his bag, pulling out a small blue plastic rectangle that he bent slightly, causing somethign inside to snap. It hurt like hell to do so, one of his hands had a severe burn on it and the other was stitched up and tender from the cuts, something he'd have to watch if he was going to avoid tearing out his stitches. The ice pack soon grew cold as the chemicals inside reacted with each other and Crenu placed it over his hand, ignoring the radiating pain it caused on both his hands. "I've got to go train some more before the contest. The key is on the bedside table, give it to the nurse and apologize for the mess if it bothers you that much. If you've got nothing else to ask me then don't bother me while I'm training. In fact, don't bother me even if you do have something else to ask me. The contest is this evening, I've got to train hard if I'm going to win." With that Crenu nudged open the window that Ken had used to climb in at some point int he night, using it to make his exit. He was sure Riza had awoken by now, but the fact that she hadn't knocked on his door to check up on him meant that she was still feeling uncomfortable about the way they left things last night or that she had decided to leave him to his own devices before the contest. Either way it worked out for him as he was intending to spend every minuet before the contest training and didn't with to be bothered. Kenneth sighed as he watched Crenu flee the scene, looking at the key on the counter. "The contest is this evening? I already knew that..." Ken stood there thinking for a moment and chuckled, the smile coming back to his face. "Isn't that sweet of him? Ha ha ha! Silly Shiro, so stubborn and indirect. Oh well, I guess that's the closest thing to an invitation I can hope to get from him." Normally Kenneth would have done the right thing, but looking at the mess of glass in the bathroom and the blood on the floor and sheets, he decided that this wasn't one of those times where doing the right thing applied. Leaving the door open he jumped out of the window and ran, yelling out a loud sorry as he ran. He still had a lot of work to do as well before the contest, and he couldn't afford to spend any extra time dealing with explanations and such.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Carlos watched as Train fed her little blue pokemon outside, thinking it was rather sweet of her to consider her pokemon's shyness like that. "Ok ok then let's get moving. We have far to go and much to get done, after your battle in Cerulean we'll have to make the walk to Celedon to catch the train. How about a little walking music eh?" Without really waiting for an answer Carlos whipped his guitar aroudn and started strumming on it again. "You know Mr. Maz, you seem rather energetic. And I couldn't help but notice that you've been eying Train and myself quite a bit. Are you nervous about something? You have something planned perhaps, an ambush in the dark caves maybe?" As he spoke, his strumming became a little more agitated and the melody grew harsher as he eyed Maz from under his sombrero.

Jett sat at the sidelines, releasing River and Aerosmith to wait alongside him. His eyes flickered between the two battles, taking note of the strange Pokemon Crush had and the TM Leon had gotten.
"Watch carefully," he told his Pokemon, who both immediately turned to him. "Watch her fight. Keep track of any patterns." Aerosmith immediately focused back to Roxanne, anger subsiding as strategy began to build in his mind.
River seemed less interested, almost shying away from that battle to look at Leon's. Jett gave her a gentle pat on the back.
"Don't be scared," he said calmly, leaning forward some. "I promise, I won't lose this time."

Mahnaz, after sitting for a while, decided to go outside and train her Pokemon for a little bit. Maipe followed quickly, but Nyoro was more hesitant. "Come on Nyoro, we need to train if we want to beat the first gym. Let's face it; we aren't that strong yet." She smiled encouragingly at the young Poliwag as she came out. Maipe and Nyoro then faced each other, ready to fight. "Guys, now we are a family, so don't go overboard. Just, see if you can analyze weaknesses of the opponent." Nyoro instantly started thinking of her last fight with the Growlithe. The Fire-dog doesn't think with its head; brute strength is it's downfall, the Tadpole Pokemon thought. She kind of shied back, hoping Maipe fell for it. But, he didn't. He was glaring at the Poliwag, with like a green light eminating from his eyes. Instantly, her battle plan fell as she got scared. "When did you learn Leer, Maipe?" Mahnaz asked. That could be useful later on, she thought. If Maipe knows Leer, then it'll be easier to attack. The Growlithe smiled, then tackled the Poliwag. That's when he unleashed a small Ember, but Nyoro was ready for that. She blew some bubbles and the flame went out. With a small smile, Nyoro blew some water on the ground. "Ah, Water Sport. Good thinking." Mahnaz was impressed with this progress with Nyoro; she seemed to be a thinker, while Maipe was just a tad reliable on brute force.

The bookcase in Blaine's personal study that hid the staircase to the Gym slid open, revealing a very distraught Sasha Beauchamp. Her head hung almost limply as she shuffled towards the door, dragging her feet as she went. She opened the door to the lobby and walked over to the desk. "I don't know what room number," she said softly. "But Monsieur Blaine said z'hat we had a room."
"You must be Sasha." Beth or Bertha or whatever her name said, smiling. "Room 38, second one on the right after you go up the stairs."
"Merci." she said, sliding the key card off the table. She sulked to the stairs, and Beth(?) shook her head.
"Wonder what's eatin' her." she asked herself.
Sasha walked up the stairs and into the hallway to the rooms upstairs. She looked to her right. Sure enough, there it was. Room 38. Sasha walked over and slid the key through the reader. She tugged on the handle and pushed, but the door didn't open. Instead, her shoulder got a nice run in with the heavy door. "Ow! Son of a b***h!" Sasha cursed, sliding the key again. The reader blinked red, rejecting the card. YOU TOO? Sasha ignited with rage and punched the door, immediately regretting it. "AGH!" she cried, holding her now bright red hand and falling to the floor. "MERDE!" She screamed through grit teeth. "Tout ce que je voulais faire était de prendre une douche et d'aller au lit! Je ne peux même pas faire ça! Putain! C’est vraiment des conneries!" She screamed, then collapsed to the floor, unable to do more than cry and wail.

"Yay!" Kasiya practically cheered, clapping her hands a few times in excitement. She didn't slap Keegan's hand away, instead coyly pretending she hadn't seen it, shrugging apologetically when she did notice it. A part of her knew that they in fact should be heading back to the hotel to try and rest, but common sense eluded the girl for the time being and she giggled excitedly, though it sounded a bit unnatural, and forced. She knew the general direction to the place, and that it wouldn't be far from where they were, as Cinnabar wasn't exactly huge. She ran off ahead without fear or hesitation, somehow believing that looking forward to her next adventure would help to stave off the feelings of helplessness and despair that were threatening to overpower her. She never bothered to look back to see if Keegan was following her or not, as a part of her didn't care if he changed his mind halfway and turned in the other direction, though once they did arrive at their destination a short time later, she did turn to see if he was there.
A somewhat rusted, ten-foot high chain link fence enclosed the Cinnabar Mansion behind it, a very thick and heavy chain locking the front gate. There was also a sign that read 'CONDEMNED, NO TRESPASSING' but Kasiya ignored that, now carefully studying the chain and padlock that served as the only means to keep them out. She'd taken a Pokeball from her belt as she was sure it wouldn't be able to withstand an Overheat from Hiro when she noticed a small gap in the fence by the ground. It looked like someone had taken wire cutters to it, and it would easily be big enough for each of them to fit through. The girl grinned and put the ball back in its place. "This way!" she said, already on her hands and knees as she made her way through the hole.
=-=-=-=-= Jake blushed again, and shook his head. "Uh, no, it wasn't lame, not at all. Though, uh, thanks for not punching me, I really appreciate that," he said quickly, just in case the redhead had suddenly changed her mind within the last few moments. "Oh, the experiment? Well, uh, no, it didn't help," he said, shrugging. "That's okay though, 'cause that was really nice." He smiled genuinely and gently brushed her cheekbone with his fingers. The kiss had indeed been very nice, much nicer than he'd expected, though for some reason he couldn't help but feel an icy cool rock forming in the pit of his stomach which he soon identified as guilt. This caught him by surprise, though, as he had no idea what he was supposed to be feeling guilty about. "We should probably keep going," he said finally, the heat slowly creeping out of his cheeks and allowing his face to return to an almost normal shade. "Bidoof could use some healing at the, uh, Pokemon Center." The name of the red-roofed building had temporarily escaped him but he was able to remember it without embarrassing himself too much.
Turtwig was still standing nearby, refusing to look at the two absurd humans. They were talking now, which meant they'd stopped their embarrassing display, and for a moment the Tiny Leaf Pokemon wished Jake would recall him into his Pokeball in case it were to happen again.

Perhaps it was just him being a bit tired and stressed out, but Keegan didn't really noticed Kasiya's forced enthusiasm, mistaking it for her normal excitement over something new, and like old times he allowed her to lead the way. Like she'd have it any other way, the redhead thought, half-smiling, though as they walked, he quickly noticed that she didn't look back at him even once, and this made him feel nervous. Perhaps they weren't really going to the haunted mansion after all, and she was leading him somewhere else entirely, like a dark alley or some other place off the beaten path where no one would hear his screams...
Keegan was able to laugh off his ridiculous episode of paranoia relatively quickly though, as before long they were standing on the wrong side of a rusted chain link fence, intent on keeping trespassers out of the condemned building, or so the sign posted out front would have them believe. He too took a look at the heavy chains and padlock, oblivious to whatever means Kasiya had thought of to get inside - he had his own methods. He backed up quite a ways in order to put some distance between himself and the fence, and after a good running start he jumped as high as he could, the wiry blockade rattling loudly in protest from the weight of the youth it was now supporting. With practiced ease and uncharacteristic agility he scrambled up the fence, perching at the top for only a split second before he jumped to the ground again, landing, knees bent, on the ground below with a soft thud, his jacket fanning out around him dramatically. He smirked looked over his shoulder at Kasiya as she finished crawling on all fours through the gap previously made by other interlopers, silently hoping she'd be impressed by his athletic display. He'd picked up that handy little trick from Mike some time ago, though he'd never let her in on that tiny little detail. ===== "Fight back with a Gust, like before!" Bugsy shouted almost instantly, watching the Murkrow as it began its attack. The paralysis must have really gotten to it, as it barely gained any height before diving down for its attack. Butterfree nodded weakly, flapping its wings to create another gust of wind, but it too, in its weakened state, couldn't put as much power behind the attack as it wanted. The breeze was just enough to harmlessly push the baby Murkrow back a bit, and cause its attack to miss. Bugsy frowned lightly, knowing that soon he'd have to bring his Scyther back out. He'd be lying if he said he never had the urge to (even if just once or twice) bring out his prized Heracross and let it destroy a challenger or two, as while he didn't have a problem awarding worthy trainers their Hive Badges, he felt as though his pride as a trainer took a staggering hit with every one he gave away. ===== Miharu felt a bit of a blush creep into her cheeks from her sudden outburst and she sat down as quickly as she'd stood up, wishing she hadn't done that. It was obvious that Sam was doing just fine out there, and didn't need her new green-haired friend making a spectacle of herself. Miharu bit her lower lip and tried to focus on the battle. Both Pokemon seemed very tired, though she was sure that the paralysis was mostly at fault in Devlin's case. It was a shame to see that his Drill Peck had missed, though at the same time it was obvious that the Butterfly Pokemon was almost down and out. That would mean that Bugsy's intimidating Scyther was all that was left, though Sam still had Star to rely upon. Her resolve didn't change, even with her embarrassment - she was certain Sam could win this.
