Nuna If it take TOO long then Ill gladly give it to them for free, but too long for me is a lot longer then it is for a lot of people. x__x "A long time" in my books is roughly "more than a year". Anything less than that is small change. Ha ha.

XD
Personally I don't mind waiting a long time for art at all. But I do like to keep in touch with the artist if they take more than three months. Just the occasional PM to make sure they remember (I have a habit of forgetting myself. D: Im such a flake) Recently I had one girl I'd commissioned to do a CG headshot, and I was paying A LOT for it. I checked in on the thread every once in awhile and she didn't post there for months, and even changed her username, finally about 5 months had passed and I tried PMing her. She read the PM but blatantly ignored it. So I did a little snooping, and foung she'd opened a completely new shop, and was taking commissions there, though it looks like she's abandoned that as well. Im thinking part of it could be attributed to her age. She claimed to be 12 or 13 at the time that I commissioned her. I know I was irresponsible with my commissions back in my early days, but nowadays I know better.
Thats one of the few especially annoying experiences I've had with commissioning. Every once in awhile you get that person that just decides not to do the art you've commissioned and would rather avoid you than cancel the commission directly. But Other then that I havent had any problems. Now... commisioners... thats another story. I've had commissioners that PMed me EVERY day about their art before I cancelled the commission. I got tried of that REALLY fast. that sort of thing has only been happening more recently.

Hahahah. Man, I would tell someone off if they started PMing me every day. I'd link them to my handy journal to-do list, show them where they are on said list, and if that didn't get them to stop I might actually block them until I finished the picture.

Yeah, I'm now just telling people they'll probably have to wait four months for RL commission work, and pretty much indefinitely for Gaia (I have to do like, art blazes during the summer and winter break, but even like, over Thanksgiving I have homework).
And I mean, if you complain, you're still on the list (it's public) so I haven't forgotten you.. and I wanred you up front from the beginning.
School's getting really hard... DX;

Are we doing/does anyone want to do a Christmas exchange this year? If we are doing it (if anyone wants to) we probably need to get the show on the road ...
I got a really cool piece from Katherdante Claus last year, so I vote tentative "yea" (tentative only because if no one else wants to do it then I'll just feel naff).

Sorry guys, I'm really swamped at work and with school right now, I have very little time to devote to Gaia right now. If someone else wants to organize a Secret Santa, that'd be great. :3

Does anyone know someone who does cosplay commissions? I'm looking to spend ~$60 on a Toph or Rukia outfit.

I found a SS artist today and sent them the info. It should be done in less than a feek weeks. whee! I'm so used to looking for art in auctions that I pass by so many talented people who sell their art in shops. I'll be buying from shops more often. It's just so hard to find someone with an attractive art style.
