Here in Hawai'i, the interest in that stuff is so low, competitions don't even seem to exist. You can do it, just put your mind and your heart to it and go for it. biggrin

So i'm starting lessons with a new teacher in a little over a week (she's the best flute teacher in my state). My mom's a little annoyed, because she costs $50/hour, but whatever.

Hehe, that's about right. xD The friend I keep tell you about, her teacher costs, I think, 45 and hour and 30 for a half an hour.

Yeah, it seems most of the really good teachers cost about that. My mom was only annoyed because I was originally going to take lessons with the other best flute teacher in the state, and she only cost $40/hour, but then I decided to be with this one. I'm kind of nervous though, because I'm always nervous when I work with new people.

XD Mm wrong there. I know a flute player who plays French Horn. -burn-I bet I'm the only one in this guild who lives in Washington who plays the flute and french horn! ;o Wazzow! lol

My lesson teacher is pretty good, so I don't really care about having teachers that cost $50 an hour. 3nodding
Ugh, I should probably get a better flute if I want to make state, but my Trevor James hasn't failed me yet, so I'll just have to try my best-est!

They're worth it, though. : D I suppose I'd be nervous, too. Though I sort of know what to expect. x3

Well, I mean, the teacher I'm with now has made me like the second best in the state, but I need to switch because I need to become one of the best young flutists in the country, if i want to make it anywhere in competative music.
