Eilynne remained quiet and merely sat there on Lycear's shoulder listening to the conversation and drawing her own conclusions from what was said and what was left unsaid. She felt a few things about the elf before her but chose to keep her silence as the falcon on Lycear's shoulder. Such things are questionable at times...

"I suppose you're right. Maybe I'll just go stir crazy." The knock startled her for a moment and Shyrae glanced up as the door was opened. Her gaze moved over the dragon and then she glanced back out the window. Perhaps this was her chance. "It could be better..." A shake of her head and she blinked then glanced right back down at her hands. Why was he here? "Come to entertain the poor prisoners of yours?"

"All things are questionable M'lady...tis the way of things." Merely continuing on in his questioning on things. If anyone knew how to dig up information, Lycear knew how. There was a pefected method to all he did it seemed. He more often than not go all his answers. Soon enough though it seemed he was wrapping up his business. "Anything particular you are interested in seeing without being noted, M'lady?" Might as well indulge her a little while he was out here.

Ears twitched at the sound of the lock and she casually pulled up her hood before going about eating her food again. "It's filling." Another bite of her toast as she sat on the floor with her plate, cross legged.Though it seemed that Shyrae was not done bearing a grudge. Inthara kids, they did that. Or at least stayed huffy with you for a span of time. "Or perhaps fetching us for your father?"

"I apologize if the food is not to your liking. Is there something else I can get for you instead?" After all, they were from a different land where different traditions and tastes stood, no doubt. And before the elf had actually been proven guilty, he refused to treat them with any less hospitality than was necessary. He picked up on the tone of her friend though, brow creasing for a moment. "Nothing of the sort. Nor should you think that I look down upon you because you are in custody. My father is busy at the moment, I simply came to see if you were as comfortable as possible, given the circumstances."

Hanging out on his shoulder wasn't really gleaning her any information that could be applied to the search for the gift but learned quite a bit about other things that she found useful. It was always interesting to see what humans, elves, and dragons spent their gold, time, and emotions on. I'd like to ask you to visit the tavers, sit down for a moment and let me listen into the conversations, if you don't mind.

Shyrae sighed and instantly felt bad for the tone she had taken. As she'd told herself many times, he was on her side. He'd wanted to keep her free, even though he had reversed his decision after his father had pointed out the logic in her remaining captive as well. "I'm just not very hungry." A shake of her head, "I appreciated the vote of confidence at the meeting yesterday even if it wasn't enough..." She stood and walked over to the glass, resting her hand against it as the sun filtered in and warmed her skin.

He nodded and turned on his heel, heading up to the best tavern in the place which also doubled as the inn. It was best if he go there anyway, seeing as the two elves had indeed spent the night there adn well, had to cover things. But before questions he was going to entertain the creature's want. Thusly he plopped down at an unoccupied table and it didn't take long for the owner to drop a drink of his perferred tastes at the table. Perks.

"It's fine." Shyrae was taking this harder than she was...but that was expected. Savryn was used to not being looked on in the best light. Was just the way things were when she was around it seemed. A look over then in the general direction that she knew Kaznec was in. "You think my friend could get a little fresh air? She doesn't do well caged up...it's just not in her nature at all. I can stand it for a time, but not her."
PostPosted: Fri May 11, 2007 10:42 pm

"I did what I could, I'm sorry." Kaznec turned his attention onto the friend, watching her walk to the window and noting the longing for freedom in her eyes. Sometimes, it was indeed difficult to not let emotion get in the way of protocol. It would take him much time to learn that from his father. But as the blind elf spoke up, he turned golden eyes onto her and contemplated her words. There was a choice to be made here and he was no stranger to the consequences bad choices could bring, but perhaps this time... "That can be arranged." She wasn't the suspect of the crime, after all. "I will have to escort you at all times but if you don't mind, then by all means." Gesturing with his hand to the door.

He got a chirp in gratitude and she hopped down off of his horn and onto his shoulder once again, trilling softly as she listened in on conversations. A few conversations upset her because they centered on dishonesty and evil intentions but she had known that was likely to happen. Humans and other races had evil in them in various places though there was good throughout as well. That was what she focused on, the good. There were a few whispers of the murder though and she hopped to the table and cocked her head. Where did the crime take place, mighty dragonlord?

Surprised at Savvy's request, she very nearly turned around but then decided to wait to hear the verdict. His answer surprised her even more and she turned, trying to keep the light from leaping into her amber eyes. Frowning in confusion for a moment as he gestured, she tilted her head. "Do you mean now? You don't have to clear it through anyone first?" Not that she was going to argue but she didn't want to get her hopes up.

"Changing world... I do not think the city has changed since I came here. I like it this way, maybe." The elf rubbed his chin. "Not all changes are good; but like you said, it must continue or it will stagnate."

"It is good to know that the authorities do not simply hunt criminals, but inquisition the guilty." It seemed odd how the elf did not know that, despite always living in the city. For some reason, he thought they had a more 'callous' law system. Perhaps he was just dreaming of another life or time.

"Well then, I guess I should let you get back to work, as I am limited to this area of enquiry. My only final advice is seek out the top metallurgists to discover the material weights of the weapon. The components of the weapon might be more useful than the design for discovering the weapons origin." The elf bowed, "I bid thee fair hunting."

"He's practically second in command of the entire Guardian system because he's Lycear's son. He's allowed to make those kinds of decisions. Go on and make good use of your bit of freedom." Setting her empty plate on the tray that was next to her before getting herself up casually. She personally was feeling off...it had been a while since she had used her abilities to see anything...make her feel like she really didn't have a choice in this sight manner. "Before you go...may I have something to write on and with?"

"In the back alley's by the eastern side walls. On this level of the city." Sitting there a bit more before offering his forearm to the bird who wasn't really a bird and then up and out of the tavern with him. He decided that he could take her to the spot, but stopped short of the site. Laerethe were sensitive to areas.

"Steel, about this size." Handing over the two little copper horseshoes. "And finish them in copper. Four." Order given and him given his estimate time to wait he nodded and the black scaled one made his way from the shop to go about getting other supplies that he was going to need. Though along the way, something particular caught his eyes and he gave a little smirk, walking over and picking up the little toy. How perfect...

Back at the city. joy. nad back to the little places that only the dregs and poor went too. he had those two glass shards in a bag, he could sell them easy here and some of the gold coins as well to lure potential new crew with. better to show them what could be then to offer payments for services up front. that way their greed got them in or ousted them.

He nodded at the blind elf's rationalization of his position. "I have such authority. You won't be punished for this endeavor outside." Opening the door, he gestured for her to step out and then turned back briefly. "I will have someone bring you ink and parchment." That said, he assigned the task to the guard outside, also left a message for his father in case he happened to return and find one of the elves gone. Then he turned and leaded the friend out and down the winding stairs. "Did you have a destination in mind?"

Shyrae frowned for a moment at Savvy's request but she decided it would be far better just not to ask. Her friend had something up her sleeve but there was no reason to alert the dragon...what was his name? Something like Zacken? She didn't know. Swirling her cloak around her shoulders, she nodded to Savvy and headed out of the door, following behind him. "Not really. I've only been in the city for a day and we came in just about dinnertime. Why don't you give me a tour?"

She lifted her wings and fluttered them briefly as they came upon the spot then lifted off the dragon and flew around the spot, circling it. She landed on a piece of garbage momentarily and chirped then trilled angrily. Flapping her wings in an angry stacatto she let her voice ring out for a good few minutes and then perched back on Lycear. A great evil was indeed done here. A betrayal of word and deed but not friendship. It is the stone in the pond.

She was teasing her brother. Why? Because it was fun. Flying above him and holding the dragon that he had been reaching for as she swooped about. She'd randomly land and shake the toy, then the moment he reached her she'd take to the air again.

Reemerging outside the tower, he nodded to a few guards as they past them along the walkway. "A tour? That sounds good." If wasn't like he didn't wonder if this was some elaborate plot to escape, but he was confident in the Ilindal Guard's abilities and a part of him also felt that they were innocent. Besides, how much harm could a blind necromancer do with ink and parchment? But he turned to her, golden eyes blinking in a moment of realization. "I never got your name."

He cringed...yeah he knew she wouldn't take well to that at all. Nowhere near happy. But he merely waited until she was done and then nodded to her. "I'm sorry to expose you to such a thing, I know you are sensitive...let us return, I've learned much." Indeed he had. Though he did pause to look at the sails that were visible over the city walls. The Chimera was back again. Oh he knew the ship well. "Anything I can get you in preparation of the trip you are to take?"
Savvy gave a nod and her thanks. Not that she was going to be bad with said things, but she at least was confident in the fact they they would think she could see...what did the blind need with paper? Not that she couldn't read or write, she could do both very well...writting was a matter of line measursing not to overlap words for her. Like walking, involved counting.

Returning to the shop, he picked up the shoes as well as accompanying nails, paying his fee and adding the little bag to the bigger one, giving a grunt of thanks. Well...the nusciance was done with. Though still there was the matter of shoeing the boy.

He gave a keening defeathed noise as he plopped down on the stones, pulling one foot up to look at the bare hoof. He couldn't do too much bouncing around...they hurt after a while. But from his plopped position he reached up once more attempting again. "Flyin's not fairs."

Hunter watched from shadow at the trilling bird and the guard in charge. they were snooping. which meant that the cloaked elf wasn't going to be hanged anytime soon, not until they did their rounds. fingering the rainbow glass in the bag, he had one of the crew take the newcomers ship side to get aquainted with their duties.

And he took to shadowing the guard. where was he going and what questions was he asking that thing. yes he recognize what that was. the birds form was annoyingly familiar enough.
