Down in the watery depths of the fountain where little light reached it were the mertwins enjoying a good time lounging about with whatever aquatic friends they had. At the moment Feng was feeding her and Ryu's pet. She had calmed down quite a bit, unless there was something exciting going on. She petted the fish like they were cats, but since they were underwater pets they were probably the closest she would get to cats.
Ryu was reading something that had been especially coated to be waterproof, since he didn't want to be out of the water to be reading. Though the pages kept floating so he was reading on his back to keep it all at their proper places.

Celebor swam down to join the two of them, but since he knew his spell's time was limited, he rushed his message:
"Feng-an-Ryu-you-gots-ter-come-up-you-gots-visitors!" he blurted excitedly. Then he turned abruptly and headed for the surface once more.
Elnara smiled at her mother and nodded. "He'll be fine, don't worry," she assured her. "He spends half his time down there anyways, and if anything were to happen, Feng and Ryu would take care of him."

Despite Elnara's reassurances, Serenity kept her eyes anxiously on the water, nervous and scared. She had seen too many drownings not to worry - she couldn't help it. It didn't help that she was still meeting her grandson for the first time.

"Guests?" Feng blinked.
"For us?" Ryu stoled his book into a holding place where it wouldn't float up.
"Yay!" Feng rushed off after Celebor with Ryu following quickly behind her.
Besides they had to make sure Celebor would make it to the surface okay.

Lore peered into the fourtain as well to try and catch a glimpse of Celebor, as well as the two mers that Elnara had been talking about. He did hope that Celebor would be fine, even though he knew that as long as there were mers in the fountain he would be.

Celebor was nearly to the surface when he felt his breathing stop, but he was close enough that he didn't panic, just held his breath for the rest of way. He broke the surface and gasped for air, then wiped his hair out of his eyes and grabbed hold of the edge, grinning.
"They're coming!" he said cheerfully, blowing some water out of his nose.
Elnara blinked at Celebor. "Your spell ran out again, didn't it?" she asked him softly. "You have to be careful ..."
Celebor grinned. "I'm okay, Mommy. Feng and Ryu were right b'hind me, they woulda helped me if I needed it!"

The water surface bubbled a bit as it began to ripple. Two nearly the same black haired heads peeked out half way from the surface. Revealing eyes, top of the head and a bit of the ears. The only way one could tells they were different was the one head had more hair which spread out around her... it... like black tresses of webbing.

Celebor heaved himself out of the fountain and lay on the edge. "See?" he grinned at the others. "I told you they were right b'hind me!"
Elnara laughed. "So you did," she grinned back, poking his nose. Then she turned to her guests. "Mother, Lore," she smiled, "Feng and Ryu."
Short. Simple. Hopefully Feng wouldn't accidentally strangle anyone ... though she had seemed to be settling down a little bit lately.

Serenity blinked. People who lived in the water?
Something was tugging at her memory ... yes, Kara had mentioned them the first time they had met.
She smiled. "I'm glad to finally meet you two," she said kindly, sitting on the edge of the fountain, just beside Celebor.

Feng lifted herself out of the water using the fountain's edge as she smiled mischeviously at Serenity. Serenity did look a lot like Elnara, very, very much like Elnara for that matter.
"You look a lot like Elnara," she paused thoughtfully before asking brightly, "Can I hug you?"
The other figure rolled his eyes as he too lifted himself laying his arms across the ledge. Ryu figured his sister would ask that, at least she asked this time.

Lore chuckled, he couldn't help but do so as he watched the two unusual mers. He considered them unusual since they looked Asian, even though the East didn't really have any legends about mers that he knew of, or did he...
"It's nice to meet you."

Serenity blinked with surprise - not at the comment that she and Elnara looked very much alike, she knew they did; but at the request for a hug.
"Uh ... sure," she nodded uncertainly. Odd world, indeed.

"Yay!" Feng leaped out of the water and hugged Serenity by her waist since being still a tailed mermaid she didn't have enough to hug her by the shoulders.
Besides with her tail now hanging off the edge she didn't have anything to keep her up. It wasn't like she had knees after all, only her tail.
Ryu tried to ignore his sister for a moment to smile up at Lore, "It's good to meet you too, it's good to meet Elnara's friends."
Though he had to wonder if it was more than friends.
"Feng try not to go overboard," he added to his sister.

Lore smiled at that, "Well it's good to meet her siblings," he eyed Feng for a while.
It was amazing how different the two were he thought to himself.

Serenity blinked, then put one hand on Feng's head uncertainly. She had never been hugged by anyone other than her family in her entire lifetime ... and she was still trying to get used to the idea that people weren't running from her, or pointing and shielding themselves from her ...
She allowed herself a small smile. She could get used to this.
