A deer in headlights. There was no other way to decribe it. Natsuki Yaganitani was completely and utterly mortified at the wicked hairpin turn her conversation with Julian took. Like a car hyroplaning on a flooded highway, there was nothing she could do, but simply wait for control to return. However, Shuura appeared instead. Natsuki's porcelain complexion was chalk white with shock, backing away from Julian slowly almost mechanically.
Natsuki was nothing short of speechless, especially when Julian turned completely silent and started stripping his damp layers off. Natsuki wouldn't admit it, but watching him coolly and methodically remove his sweater and wet black shirt was rather... hot, and an extremely inappropriate thought considering her precarious situation. The color returned to her face quickly in the form of a slight blush, causing Natsuki to cover her trembling lips with her slender fingers and hide a pleasantly surprised smile that was itching to blossom. It could be the alcohol, but something about Julian's mannerisms were just-- simply irresistable.
Seeing a lul on the dancefloor, Natsuki took it as her cue to flee to the DJ stand, and put on a new song. "Coming up is a fun song, that I hope ya like," Natsuki said, fighting to hide the embarassment in her voice, as her eyes lingered on the shirtless Julian. He may have reeked of alcohol, but he smelled... tasty. Wicked thoughts ran through her mind as she contemplated, Julian's new... flavour. "Here's "Grace Kelly" by Mika!"

Vyn's reply came as a bit of a startle to Mouse, as her gaze had once again luckily found a very interesting part of the party... huh. She never would have guessed that someone with Julian's demeanor would be such a party animal, but now thoughts of him running about the dance floor while swinging his shirt over his head were permanently ingrained into her mind.
"...Green?" she parroted to Vyn confusedly, examining her person once she realized that the Raevan was referring to herself. There wasn't just her hair to be considered: just about half of her clothing was of the same hue. With a friendly chuckle, she responded, "Hah... yeah, it's my favorite color! My hair isn't naturally green, though... I waste a lot of gold on good dye." Mouse refused to simplify her own speech for this Raevan despite being of few words. It would be insulting and rude to talk down to her.
But few as those words were, they were also very... deep. And earthy. Altogether very pleasant to the ears - the small woman hoped that Vyn would grow up to become very vocal indeed. "Ah, alright then!" she replied to the refusal for food. "I should have been a bit more considerate - you don't work the way that humans do, so it was wrong for me to assume that you might want food." A thought then suddenly churned up in her head: "If you don't mind me being curious, how do you get energy, if not from food?"

Only belatedly did Shuura percieve in the dim lighting the dampness of Julian's shirt, and the ashen figure of Natsuki slowly backing away, and realized what kind of incident have transpired before she had come across them. Jules was evidently a lot more drunk than she had originally thought, however, for the normally up-tight scientist was now proceeding to...strip. Finding it EXTREMELY hard to suppress her welling laughter despite the obvious bad mood the party "host" was in, the snarky teen was nonetheless unable to resist another comment. "Did anything spill on your pants, too?" she asked, although the underlying but unspoken point of the question was clearly Well then, why don't you take those off too? She would probably regret saying that later, but at the moment, it was definitely worth the amusement.
Flood. Everytime Vyn consented to these verbal exchanges it seemed like others would attempt to heap mountains of words upon her for every one word that she uttered. A sigh escaped her rosy lips as she took a moment to attempt to process the dump of noise this green figure just unleashed upon her.
Food. Energy. Vyn focused on the words she was more familiar with. What was the green person after? She definitely didn't want those things the other had on their plate. Occasionally she would indulge in a lick or taste for some rare things to satisfy her curiousity, but such actions usually left the Frei feeling sick afterwards, so she now avoided it completely. What did she prefer, then? Ebony ribbony ends swirling loosely in thought, the frei took her time contemplating her answer.
"E-nergy...from shadows. The shadows sustain." As if to emphasize her point, her own shadow flickered briefly behind her, changing size and shape too fast to be noticed in the dim lighting.

Julian Sweet On the other side of the ballroom, Gage was trying to hold in a somewhat violent reaction as well. As soon as the other Raevan began to speak while keeping an insanely dangerous hold on the radioactive Frei, the latter jerked out of the field of contact in one swift movement and propelled himself furiously backwards, nearly hitting at least four people in the process. He raised both hands, palms towards the other green- albeit much more normal- entity in a clear sign that Eirdirsceol should stay back.
"I... I am happy to see you," Gage conceded, if only because it might keep the other at bay and the words were vaguely true. "Do not touch me. It will hurt you."
To be more precise, it had hurt him, but Gage was trying to preemptively contain any further damage. Eiry replied by snatching his hand close to his chest where he pressed his throbbing palm so that it didn't hurt as much. It was the weirdest feeling. He could only describe it as being the subject of feeding. Well, he was plant-based, or so Isi told him the first time this happened, so perhaps that's why it hurt so much to touch each other. He smiled at Gage through the fading pain and he echoed Gage's motions with motions of his own. "Gage silly, don't put up your hands. I'll stay back now. But don't be scared. Trust me? Please? We're friends."
The minty raevan hated not being able to touch his newest and only friend outside of the family and lab. Eiry also didn't like how Gage was always cringing or thinking that he did something wrong. He wanted Gage to act normal and unworried around him.

The next request that came up, made Natsuki simple cackle. It was so unbelievably laughable, but she had to play it regardless. Wondering who could possible make such a mysterious request, Natsuki hung her head in literal shame as she knew the tune would get stuck in her head... all night long. "Next up is a favorite for all those closet Haddaway fans," Natsuki said, stifling her laugh from the mic. "So Baby, tell me "What is love?" Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me, no more..."
Natsuki would be kicking herself in the morning for playing such a blantant 90s favorite, but hoped that it would generate some fortm of crazy energy on the floor. Taking up a bottle of water, and slipping off her shoes, she was determined to relax and keep her cool for the rest of the night. "Coming up next, will be "With Love" by Hilary Duff!"

Ravi was more than slightly startled at the site of Kim's ambitious, robot-like moves. In fact, all of the dancing in the room was leaving Ravi in a cold sweat, a combination of embarrassment, want, and trepidation boring into the man's stomach and nerves. He was far too shy to dance in public, especially with the thought of his reputation as a scholar at state. Little did Ravi know that his real reputation was as "the weird one" at best and a "joke on legs" at worse. With these thoughts in mind, he dawdled on the dance floor for a good fifteen minutes, feeling too trapped to leave or to just give in and let loose.
Fifteen minutes seemed to be the limit of Ravi's patience, as he finally balled his right hand into a fist and turned to make his way off the dance floor, perhaps over to the pinata to make sure that the pinata and nothing else was indeed the victim of all bat-hitting. His grand exit was stopped, however, by the introduction of a new song over the speakers. A techno style beat backed with bass and guitar accents played in the ballroom air, and despite the "young" sound of the vocalist, Ravi felt himself moved somehow by the music. Unlike the songs he had stood through, this music had a strong sense of rhythm, alluring in the way it managed to sound both old and new at the same time.
Against his will, his foot was once again tapping to the beat. He looked down at the appendage, unsure of what to do about its desire to move even more than it already was. Maybe... maybe he could just... you know. Nothing fancy. Just a few seconds, that's all... and sure, he hadn't done it in a while, but everyone was pretty much absorbed in their own moves, anyway. Besides, he doubted that anyone he associated with on a professional level at the University spoke to anyone here in the Lab. His "reputation" was safe.
As the chorus came around for the second time, Ravi bent his knees slightly and twisted into a hip thrust, hastening into a hip shimmy as the chorus continued, and finally letting up with a single leg shimmy. Though the song carried on into a bridge, Ravi stopped cold with his arms still somewhat lifted in his stance. He felt incredibly mortified. Fun as the song was, it wasn't a tune made for belly dancing. What made him think he could belly dance in a public place? What if, heaven forbid, one of the people here actually REMEMBERED this event which would now scar his every waking moment with the burn of shame?!
Red for the second time that night, Ravi made a quick but graceful dash for the bar, ready to forget his troubles the only way he knew how.

Natsuki did a double take, when Ravi took to the dance floor, with rapt attention. He looked so conflicted and lost, like a wall flower dying to unlease his inner disco diva. Then the hip thrust happened. Natsuki rubbed her eyes, trying erase any shred of disbelief. First Julian's goes bare chested, and now Ravi-- straight laced, bottled up way too tight Ravi-- was dancing, and not just any dance, but what appeared to be bellydancing. That's hot, Natsuki thought momentarily before a shock of reality hit her. Ravi was totally jailbait.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" Natsuki sighed, pulling the clip from her strawberry blonde hair and shaking it out. "First Julian. Now Ravi? What the hell is next?!"
Recently, Natsuki had the disctint feeling she wasn't entirely her self. She'd developed almost a predatorial urges, especially when around the male gender. She couldn't quite figure it out though. Shaking her head again, Natsuki selected another tune, something from her personal stash. Things were getting too hot, so she decided to cool it down a little with a slow song, "The Real Thing" by Bo Bice. Giving a small sigh, she hoped one of her gentleman friends would offer her a slow dance.
((FINALLY! *boogies down with the 55* I'll RP the pinata later. >.>))

The new song startled Jae a bit, and Ravi's sudden moves piqued her curiosity. Was that....belly dancing? She had only seen it on internet videos...but the hip shimmy definately looked like it. But then he ran off the dance floor, and still wanting to talk to him, she followed.
"Ah!! Ravi! Don't forget about me!" she gasped, catching up to him.
She was exhausted from the dancing. But she couldn't help but wonder just what the DJ was thinking playing that "What is Love" song. Shaking her head, she looked for the bartender. Okay, so she had danced to "Mr. Roboto," and she usually wouldn't, but she had had a feeling that it would be the only song she bothered dancing to tonight. She still wanted to figure out that pin-ya-ta thing.
"'Ey barkeep! 'Ya got any coke wi' grenadine?!" she panted, still catching her breath from her robot.

"Shadows? That's--"
And then, before any other conversation could be made with the shadowy Frei, a potent question dared rise from the crackling speakers.
WHAT IS LOVE?!
Oh, yes. It was The Song. That song. The only four-minute soundpattern that would ever incline the green lady to gravitate towards the dance floor and make a fool out of herself. As the synthesizer chords pounded in contrast to flashing drums while the vocalist's constant questioning arced aove, she found herself away from the food table for the brief moment - every note like a string on a marionette. No recognizability could be made to exactly what the hell she was actually dancing out there... it seemed to be a lot of colorfully swinging around imaginary lightsticks while doing the classic Roxbury boys headbob (it didn't, thankfully, combine with a classic Roxbury boys dry-humping-of-the-opposite-sex).
Right after the final repetition of the question disintegrated into the air, though, her feet carried her right back to the food table. "Mmmm. Shadows. I guess I can see how that would work..."

Upon Revanica's own decision (or waiting for Zeph's help), after sipping her drink more, she came to the terms of a blank check to Dr. Kyou and Chloe but capping off upon 6 million. She didn't want to give that much but she wasn't sure if one or two would cut it either as they were going to split it.
She scribbled what looked like a taloned signaure, as if she couldn't hold the pen right in her hands anymore, but it was still readable. Revanica Josephine Reeves. She ripped it out of her book and she pocketed the other half in her little discrete handbag.
"Sho where can I find the great Doc," she half-shouted clearly not even close to sounding above the music, while waving the blank check around. She hadn't the clue that he was actually close by, let alone practically right next to her, "He can get up tah six mil on the check I got for him, well half since he'll be sharin' with Chloe. My b-day gift to the both of em!" She smiled broadly.
More people had seemingly gathered about the bar. My this tender was busy. Hopefully they could answer her and give him a moment's rest?

Isi sat on the couch, looking out over the room with a happy eye. He liked watching all the people meet and talk and interact. It was interesting. The most interesting thing he had seen so far was his brother Aphi dancing with Chloe. Isi laughed aloud when he saw them together and he was momentarily thankful for all the noise and music to swallow up his voice. He'll have to tease him about it later, the boy thought in amusement. The truth was that they were very cute together! They both smiled the same way and it looked like they were having a blast. Isi chuckled softly and he wished he had Rivener's camera to take a picture of them with.
Then the boy wondered for Eiry. He was surely talking to someone by now. He hadn't heard anything yet from the poor raevan, so he was sure that he was doing fine.

Niksia rolled 1 100-sided dice:

Everything could be said to be a kind of overwhelming thing for Niksia, but as she stood staring at all the different people she knew why it was so bad tonight. Last time she had the good fortune to attend an event outside, this time she hadn't been so lucky. Between the new and old faces, loud music and generally awkward atmosphere she hadn't been paying attention to the signs her own mind and body were giving out.
How irritating, one interesting night should at least go off without annoying personal hitches being involved. Niksia didn't like to let such issues show, so she gathered her wits together again as best she could and scanned the large room for what was happening. There had to be something amusing for her to watch at a distance, even if there wasn't anything she had the strength to get involved with.
Hmm. There were all the people dancing to the latest song, a surprisingly heavy beat and quite catchy. Perhaps a little too light for Niksia, but the lyrics made her smirk as she continued surveying the room. An apparently half naked man talking to someone?? Now that was embarrassing, for Niksia at least, she stared briefly out of sheer disbelief before remembering her hazy manners and looking away sharply. Adjusting her scarf to cover the lower half of her face and her spreading blush, she tried to remind herself that it wasn't the first time she'd seen things like that and being shocked was highly uncalled for.
The mind was a mysterious thing however.
She moved swiftly along to check out what else there was, before the pinkness of her cheeks spread any further. Lurking on the other side of the ballroom she spotted two green Raevans, though surprisingly different shades of green. Tilting her head thoughtfully to consider them, and whatever conversation they seemed to be having, she took in their differing appearances happily. One was a vibrant green, the other more pastel... Something about it poked at her mind, but she couldn't work out what. The bright one had what looked much like a Unicorn horn protruding from his forehead, which delighted Niksia endlessly. The other wasn't actually completely green, but the pastel nature of his green made it hard to notice at first. The feathery wings looked so soft and appealing.
'So beautiful...' She sighed softly, looking far too dreamy and detached for her own good. Caught up in her daydreaming, she collected her scarf over her mouth and stared silently.
Feeling so out of sorts did terrible things to people.

After swaying by herself at the DJ booth, Natsuki decided it was time to release some of her pent up stress. She set the playlist to keep cycling a unique through mix of songs, while she slinked across the room, still avidly avoiding the half-clothed Julian. Picking up the stick and blindfold, Natsuki pointed at the pinata with the number 55 tacked on its side. A smirk came to her lips, as she pointed to the bright paper mache pony like a baseball player pointing to the outfield in preparation for batting a homerun.
"You are so completely mine," Natsuki said, closing her eyes, and carefully tying the blindfold. She spun a couple of times in tune with the music, before, swinging the stick down like a tennis serve. Unlike the first time, where she merely slashed the pinata's throat, the downward force of her swing caused the head to come clean off.
Crack!
Hearing a light thud by her feet, Natsuki grinned proudly. The first clean break of the night. However, she couldn't figure what was falling from her slain pinata, as her blindfold was still tied tightly.

CRACK!!!
The noise caught Jae's attention and she turned around to see the DJ standing there with a beheaded pin-ya-ta.
"What the--??" she muttered under her breath.
She noted the stick and the blindfold. Was that how it worked? Her mouth twisted in a bit of a frown, her previous notion seemed a little more fun. Maybe she could still try it. Heck, considering the absolute craziness of the idea, it would probably work quite nicely in place of a blindfold and stick actually....hm.
