Over the course of one night, Princess Can had given her soul to Hell, had it summoned back, and her body restored, though left in a coma. Someone had returned the child's body to the castle, though her fate remained a mystery. Not even Madison knew if her step-daughter would awaken. To see Hell through the eyes of a mortal, long before one's time, tends to hold a lasting impression. Some die, some fall into a coma and never wake up, some do wake up only to be a completely different person...some return and seem normal until the nightmares drive them mad.
Her Sadistic Magisty did what she could for the Princess by returning her soul, but at a cost to herself. Every soul she returns from Hell, she loses something she had gained...this time...Madison had lost her immunity to human emotion.
Can's comatose frame layed in the bed, seeming as if the child was peacefully sleeping.

Silently, Madison entered the doorway, listening to the conversation going on around Can's slumbering body. Once inside, she stood at the end of Can's bed, looking over her. The child looked so peaceful. If she had wings, she'd be an angel. Finally, Madison spoke, though nothing more than a whisper. "Can couldn't accept the fact her father was in love with me, and that her mother had perished. She sent her soul to the underworld in exchange for the power she needed to bring her mother back from the dead and get her parents back together, therefore forcing me out of the family...Her plan backfired. Her body was struck by a bolt of God's lightning as punishment for testing fate, which killed her. Silver sent for me to retrieve her soul from Hell, which I did and returned it to her body....Although...I fear that she may not ever come out of this coma. If she does, she probably won't be the same girl you all once loved and cared for. Once you've seen what it's like in the underworld...well...It changes a person..." Her voice trailed off, leaving the room in silnce once more.
