"Yup!" She chirped, only to have something catch her eye. Turning around, she blinked at the girl who had lined up behind her. Might as well start introducing herself to her fellow classmates?
"Hello!" She waved her hand furiously in greeting at Minori, her expression friendly, and eager. "So, you're in class 1A too, hm?" Well, it sure looked like that, didn't it? "I'm Takara Mitsuko. And yooooou are...?"

"Uh...hi." Wasn't this girl the one who was clinging on to that guy's hand before? Then again, she didn't seem to have noticed Rose, right? Or was she pretending? "I'm Sagawa Minori." She replied, letting a relazed smile pass her features. She was good at acting, pretending she was fine when se was not.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sagawa-san!" Like usual, her voice was extremely cheery. "It's nice to meet a fellow class 1Aer! Are you looking forward to school?" She paused, to wrinkle her own nose. "And if you're honest, I'll be honest too." Hey, she did like school! Just not the working part of it!

"Mitsuko, we're right next to you. You don't have to be that loud," Takumi said, though there was a grin on his face. He blinked at the girl she appeared to have just met. "Hello there! I'll save you the trouble and introduce myself. I'm Akiyama Takumi. It's very nice to meet you." He gave a genuine smile, though he had a strange feeling that the girl was feeling uncomfortable in some way.

"Not exactly." Minori admitted, letting herself relax. Don't be tense. She told herself. She missed the others back in Austrailia A LOT. Hey, the girl said to be honest. "But then again, it IS the first day of school."
"Hello Takumi-san." She greeted him.

"Hey! That's mean!" She pouted at Takumi, though it was soon replaced with another grin. "Okay, so maybe I'm a teeny bit loud?"
Glancing back at Minori, she offered a smile. "Don't worry, I'm kinda nervous myself, to be honest," Then, she hesitated, before continuing, "But I promised someone who died a few days ago that I'd come to school, and try making new friends, and a new start." She nodded her head, her smile faultering for a moment. What would her grandmother say now, if she saw her here, actually talking to people? She'd probably be pretty proud, actually. As a child, Mitsuko WAS neglected afterall...the people she met in junior high were probably her first friends, but she never really got close enough to them to really do anything with them other than ocassionally speak.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she grinned again. "But it's exciting in a way too, hm?"

"Yes, maybe... And... so you mean you wouldn't have come to school at all if you hadn't promised that person?" he asked teasingly.
"And oh..." he turned to the other girl. " I didn't catch your name... would you be so kind as to repeat it for me, please?"

Died. The person she promised died. That was rather sad, and Minori could see her looking a little down before she became cheery again.
"Sagawa Minori." She answered Takumi, while giving Mitsuko a smile to show that she understood. First days were...kinda exciting.

Kaiyumi The sudden announcement caused the girl to look up. Head to the side, she listened intently. When Miss Ayame was done, the girl finally let go of Takumi's sleeve, clutching her hands together in excitement, before turning towards the boy. "We get to see who's in our class now, Takumi-kun!" Eagerly, she took hold of the boy's wrist this time, and started leading him along (She figured that if she held onto his sleeve again, Takumi would end up with long, floppy sleeves by the time they reached the lineup).
She hopped the last step, before turning around and glancing around them, looking now a little nervous. "I don't know anyone else in our class, other than you, Takumi-kun. So you have to be my first class 1A friend, alright?" She grinned. ((XD Didn't Roka and Mitsu meet already, Kai? It doesn't really matter, just wondered...))

"Heeey, I didn't mean it like that, Takumi-kun!" She huffed, sticking out her tougue. "I'd still come. I'd probably just act a little...different, I guess..." The girl murmured. She probably wouldn't be that hyper, for one thing. After a moment of thinking, however, she frowned, her brows coming together. "But then again, some people would probably consider that change in personality at good thing," Mitsuko grinned sheepishly. "I'm often told that I'm a teeeeeny bit too loud, and cheerful, especially by my father and mother." She admitted. "...And you, Takumi-kun." She then added, sticking out her tougue again.
"I'm also clumsy. I tripped down the stairs this morning, walked into a tree today at school, and walked into Yamada-san twice." She pointed towards the boy who was in the same line as them, grimacing. "Anyone want to trade balance and hand-eye coordination with me for the day?" Mitsuko asked, innocently.
Catching Minori's smile, Mitsuko returned it gratefully, her smile cheery but her eyes thanking the other girl. It was nice to talk to another girl, and she was happy to know that Minori would be in her class.

Damn it! The teacher was calling them back already?! Roka attempted to conceal the panic that came over him and threatened to devour him, along with his usually calm, indifferent manner. What would he do now? All that running and crowd-navigating for nothing?! His house would probably collapse before he had time to go home and check on his sisters. Oh please don't let them do anything too dangerous, Asumi-chan... he prayed silently. It was tough trying to convince himself there was nothing he could do. He had half a mind to call his limo right then and there.
However, at Miho's suggestion of what he should do in order to break free of his parents' unebearable hold on his life, Roka was silent for a few moments. Then, without warning, he burst into peals of uncharacteristic laughter. He couldn't even remember the last time he'd had reason to laugh so hard! "That's amazing!" Roka breathed between gasps of air. "You're a genius! Why didn't I think of it that way?"
He was nearly in tears by the time his laughter had died down. Some how, Miho's comment had managed to make him take his mind off of his worry. He had acutally been able to start steering himself back to the main hall. "If only it were so easy, Miho-chan..." Roka uttered, wiping the corner of his eye with his sleeve.
Then he paused as he pulled open the door to the building for her. How had he just addressed her?! What had possessed him to call her that? What a disgrace! He only used 'chan' with his sisters. Clearing his throat, he composed himself and straightened his jacket. "Forgive me, Miss Tamura...I really don't know what came over me." she must have thought he was a jerk - which he was. He wouldn't deny it. But he had been trying hard to hide that fact all day. If he let it slip now, how would he manage to keep it up the entire year? Always remain calm, polite, and formal...that's what his parents wanted, wasn't it? That's how they told him to be social. The problem was, Roka didn't particularly want to be.
And yet, Miho laughed. Even if it was just a little, the boy was surprised he had been able to make her laugh at all. "Honestly, though, you are clever enough...if this school ddn't have its strict systems on family classes, I'm sure you'd make an excellent class 1A student. Low grades are no exuse." He chanced a wink at her. "Just because some students have low grades doesn't mean they don't have potential. My grades are borderline A's. Keeps my parents from thinking their son is a straight A student - any slight slip up, and I could get a B. I don't want them thinking I'm perfect. I know what it's like trying to keep grades low."
"Ah...that would be yes. In this school, the answer to that question is always a yes," he answered sadly, his long silver bangs falling casually over his vivid green eyes. He brushed them aside, looking rather girly as he did so. "You must always have a reason for helping or not helping someone. 'Feeling like it' isn't valid at Ouran, I'm afraid," he teased.
With a perfectly straight face and twinkling eyes, he added, "And yes. I'm allergic to cats, unfortunately. Which has been rather troublesome, as my youngest sister Seshiru simply adores them. She often tells me she hates me for having my allergies. I suppose she believes it somehow has to do with my opinion on felines. But since I really haven't spent much time with them, I can't say I hate or love them..." Realizing he was rambling on, Roka abruptly closed his mouth and entered the school, which was now nearly empty but for the long, neat lines of children ready to head to their classes.
"About commoners," The boy continued, feeling the need to defend them, "I never said they didn't use each other. What I envy is that they don't have to assume that each and every person who is friendly to them is only acting so for personal gain. Sure, maybe one or two might, but for the most part, I've heard it's pretty easy going. I'd rather be an unpopular commoner than the richest student in this school," he confessed. "As you said...the lower they are on the chain, the less they seem to feel a need to ascend."
He frowned suddenly at one of her last comments. "What was that? You don't believe in true friendship?" He clicked his tounge disapprovingly. "Where's your faith? I assure you, Miss Tamura, that friendship is no groundless fairy tale. You don't think I'm trying to use you for personal gain, do you?" He mimiced a slightly hurt look and an injured voice, gazing at her inquiringly.
Old school? What other choice? It appeared Miho had almost as few choices in her life as he did. Still, he didn't even have a choice. All he had wanted was to attend a school with his sisters, and he had been denied even that. "What's the matter?" Roka asked politely as her hand flew to her mouth. "Something I'm not supposed to know? I won't tell if you don't want me to," he assured her, wondering just what it was she might have thought she let slip. He couldn't see what might have been so important she'd want to keep a secret.
Sighing, he nodded sullenly. "I guess I'll just have to come home to a burned down manor, then..." he murmured. "You're right. We both should..." Scrutinizing the chatting lines of people critically, he shrugged. "Sure...why not? I just hope they don't catch me in the class 1B girls' line, or I'm toast...then again, if I had a uniform like yours, I could probably pass, don't you think?" He fluttered his eye-lashes girlishly and twirled a lock of his long hair around his finger.

Another soft laugh escaped Miho’s lips as she addressed his last comment first. “Not quite what I meant… I just meant you could walk back with me not… Oh dear” The first peal of laughter she could remember having in a long time burst out at the thought of him in a girls uniform. “Oh my. No, not what I meant at all.”
She grew more serious again as she turned back to the subject of his family’s trade. “There’s no reason why it can’t be. Unless you care that much of what people think of you. But, really, all of those kind of people are so shallow in the first place why is their opinion worth anything?” Her eyebrows raised at his familiar use of her name. “I’m beginning to think people at this school don’t stand on formality at all. You’re the second person today to do that. Never mind, at least you realized you did it. The first person didn’t even bother starting out formal.”
Miho shrugged “I don’t really care, it’s not that my family’s not well known enough or anything. Besides there’s almost no one in my family worth bothering trying to please. Most of them will never be satisfied no matter what I do.” Except her father, but she wasn’t going to say that, mentioning her father gave people too much of an opening to get close to her. She gave him an odd look at his comment about his grades “You don’t want them to think you’re perfect, and yet you don’t want them to see the real you. Who on earth are you showing them?”
“Once again. That only holds true if you care so much about what other people think. Does someone who stops to help and injured animal have a reason other than that they want to? So why should helping a human be any different” Not that she really thought that there were that many humans who would be willing to stop and help an injured animal.
Her head tilted “Are you allergic to dogs as well? I’m not over much found of cats myself, they’re too much like humans, only doing what you want when there’s something in it for themselves. Dogs are different though” Her eyes had a different, almost soft look to them when she talked about dogs.
She gave him a rather wry smile. “I have no way of knowing. People can be your “friend” for years and years before showing their true personality. Shot, there she went letting more information slip. She really needed to be more careful what she said. “But at least at the moment you seem decent” That was as nice a complement as she gave any human.
Her frown was back in place. “You wont have to keep it a secret if I just don’t tell you. Secrets are another falsehood. Just like true friends, they’ll be kept until they can be used by the person who holds them for their own personal gain.”
She had reached the 1B girls line. “And here is where we part ways. Perhaps I’ll see you again around school?”
(( Cynical, cynical Miho! xDDD ))

HOCRAP. As Chihaya peered out of the toilet she noticed the masses of students gone, and she was SURE that the teacher had already called them back. oh no, no, no, no. How was she supposed to get back in such a short time? Heck, she couldn't even remember the way to the hall again. The only was was to wander. Fast.
So Chiha ran. ran with all her might. Okay, so the hall wasn't THAT far from the washroom, but she really didn't know the way back, despite being there and back twice already. Fine, one and a half.
She went in circles before she FINALLY reached the hall. The students were already in their lines, and Chihaya realised she was really the last one to join the class rows. Frantically she searched for the 1B class lines, then heaved sigh of relief when she found it.
She just stood there panting, totally out of breath. Blushing slightly due to embarrassment, she hugged froggy tightly and hoped she wouldn't be punished for being late. Her teacher was called Mr Takashi... Haha, it was rather similar to her own name, no?
((Whoa. oops, I was totally at church.))
