Actually, Veigh had first started for her own mountain - but the memory of her vision, a sure sign that her land was tainted and not safe, drove her to seek shelter elsewhere, and the only place she thought of was Neu Deutschland. When she got there, she immediately went for the mountains, seeking a crevasse, a dip, a place to take shelter; ...a cave!

This was where she hid for several hours, taking care to build a soft nest. After it was all done, she splayed herself on the ground and sobbed, holding something close to her.

Veigh, who had been lying just a few feet from a pile of brush and heather that nestled three odd eggs, blew up. She scratched at Schnurrbart's moustached snout, grabbing a rock at random and throwing it. She yelled something that sounded like "Yaaa!" but could have been "********!" And beneath her was a misformed pile of shell and fluid. It never had a chance.

Veigh stood like an angry lion, glaring at Schnurrbart. "We all live, we all die, that does not begin to justify-!" She choked, coughing on a sob, and collapsed to the ground. For a moment she retched silently, and then when she could breathe again she let out a plaintive moan so full of mourning. The Japanese didn't think that she'd ever be able to stop.


((Bleh. Felt like making some drama, because Kyns aren't allowed to die, meaning there's not much tragedy for character development.))

"No..." muttered Veigh, writhing and rubbing her face into the rock. "Just... Ju- the rest are okay..." She sighed, shuddering, and curled up into a ball. The blood-stained Japanese closed her eyes, trying to get away. "This life is filled with hurt, when happiness doesn't work." It was like she was building a wall in her mind, made out of broken shells like the one on the floor, which she reached out to touch. It was bumped and knobbly, obviously disfigured before. Veigh knew that she should by curling up on the nest instead of the cold ground to keep the last three warm, but she hurt too much to move.

The Japanese stopped crying. What was she crying for? The death of a child. Her child. She had children? Veigh had never before realized that there was anything to her life other than herself. She thought she knew love, but now she knew that, that one egg whom she never knew, hurt more than if, say, Schnurrbart (who had been everything to her before the eggs) suddenly decided to leave her, or if Draconis abandoned her. This was more important.

"I break the back of love for you," she said, and found the strength to stand up. Veigh's legs shook beneath her weight, and she still felt wretched and sore, but she still walked to the broken egg and looked down at it. "We have to name her."

Veigh breathed in deeply for a moment, calming herself. She didn't stop mourning, but she held herself together. She was a mother, now, and had to take care of the other three. "Esprit," she decided, then nodded in finality. "It's french for spirit. And mind," Because I know she was living, and could think, even if she was just an egg.

She turned her head to look at the nest, but her eyes were downcast. "I... I'll warm the eggs. Could you find something, to put Esprit on? And then, later..." She choked back a sob, and laid herself down next to Schnurrbart, careful of her three unborn children.

"It-" She squeaked as tears welled up in her eyes and overflowed, but instead of a racking sob Veigh gave way to an emotional outletting. Here, her final barriers were destroyed, and elsewhere in the land five rivers swelled and mixed, melting the horrors that lurked whose purpose was to keep all others away. It filled the cracks in the barren ground and seeped away, leaving behind a lush meadow-world, with no sun but lit by the constant dazzle of stars at play. Veigh didn't even question where Schnurrbart had learned such magic.

[Not yet. If they want their children to bond, they have to distribute the eggs, after all! Plus, we might do well to try and keep pace with the storyline in the Creation RP.
