Kaori looked straight at Taria, trying to get a better reading off of her energy signature. "I'm sorry if I am to rude or blunt, but... you are not human, though once you were as is obvious from your sister. You signatures are all mixed together, so I am curious as to what you are exactly." As she talked, she absently scratched the side of her dogs head, moving ocassionally to scratch behind her ears. She also kept her hand on Abel, his strength and warmth sitting beside her a calming thing.

Taria hesitated. Should she actually say it? She took a deep breath as she continued to think, and was reassured by the reminder that the redhead herself wasn't human, so it wasn't likely she'd persecute another non-human like Taria, right?
She instinctively glanced at Talia, her younger sister who was so much wiser than her years, and was met with a slight shrug, the tiniest nod, and a subtle drifting of Talia's hand to where Taria knew she kept her slingshot and pouch of pebbles. Ok then... Talia wasn't sure, but she thought they should still try it, and even if they had completely misjudged the situation, they could probably defend themselves long enough to scarper before the torches and pitchforks came round. Key word being, probably. Ah what the heck. Taria was almost used to running for her life at this point.
"Ok, fine. To put it bluntly, I'm a werewolf. But if you want me to elaborate, care to tell me what exactly you and your friends are? You're as much human as your friend there is a normal wolf. I can smell it, though I have no idea what exactly it is."
As an afterthought, Taria added, "Also, it'd be nice if we knew what to call you."

Kaori nodded, apreciating the honesty that the child showed. "I am a witch, my name is kaori. Though you will have to ask my guests their origins yourselves, for I do not share what is not mine to tell." The witches eyes, now accustomed to the surrounding darkness, slid to Taria's hand and saw her reaching for something. 'there will be no need to defend yourself here," she stated simply, "Not while you stay in my house. Now, Talia and Taria, right? If you want to come iside, I think there may be some food left over from our, meal if you are hungry. If there is not I can always make some more. And do not worry about chores," the woman added, looking at Talia as she turned to head back into the house. "There are not many of them, and I tend to do most of them myself."

Right on cue, Taria's stomach growled. Nevertheless, she ignored it and persevered. "No, we'd like to help out. Shelter in exchange for chores so that you don't have to do them. That's only fair."

Well, if they knew, what was there to loose? Abel threw a few wary glances over each shoulder before shifting to that of the lanky and handsome form of the silver haired human. Oh how he hated this form. He felt so dispicable. He then turned a weary gray eye toward the two, something about the last thing she had said had taken a step in the wrong direction for him. Something about how he was no normal wolf, and they would like to know what to call them.
"The names Abel, I'm a half-demon" He said it airily, though nothing in his voice or expression could have betrayed his feelings besides how his eyes were slightly narrowed, so small, he wondered if Kaori had caught on. For once he didnt mind her gentle hand on his shoulder. It was strangely reassuring, she was so easy to trust others, and this worried him tremendously. And this couldn't have been more obvious as he stood protectively, slightly angled between Kaori and Selyna who had remained on the porch, and these two strangers. But he hadnt seen them ever as a threat, even unarmed. The demon in him wanted them to know he was going to protect them at all costs.

Kaori smiled back at Abel, wondering what it cost him to just let these girls know about him. For that matter, she wondered what it had cost him to let her know when they had first met. As she looked back, she noticed his protective posture, though it was to dark for her to make out his face unless she called up some light. She smiled again, this time to herself as she turned back and faced the house again. For some reason, to know that he would protect her, and the others, was reasuring, though she did not think that it was needed. But then, people had always told her that she would trust the wrong kind of person someday, so maybe that was why his strength was calming.
As she approched the step, she smiled at Selyna, laying a hand on her shoulder to let her know that she need not worry about earlier. Opening the door, she waited for everyone else to file through before entering herself. The dog she gave a look to that told it to stay outside, so it sat back on its haunches and yawned. After the door was closed, she padded back to her doghouse and went back to sleep, uncaring to what went on insideher mistresses house unless someone got hurt. As for the young witch, she led everyone into the dining room and pulled out the extra chairs. She was always ready for guests, even if she did not have that many. With a nod, she indicated that everyone else should sit

Not really knowing how to react to the girls, Selyna just stood her ground, hoping it would deter the girls from trying anything with Kaori. She appreciated her help and shelter very much and if all she could do was makes sure nothing would happen to her then that’s what she would do. Regretting her decision to stand her ground as Abel walked up the stairs towards her, she backed up a bit more than would be necessary to let him pass and averted her eyes. Smiling deeply and gratefully at Kaori as her gesture spoke volumes, Selyna was still a bit wary around Abel, and was therefore still showing her nervousness around him. Holding onto the rail so she didn’t visibly tremble, she waited until they’d passed her and entered the house as well, sitting well away from Abel, though it might seem to others it was just by chance. Feeling a bit awkward as she’d already eaten, she wondered what kind of conversations would be brought up and hoped they steered clear of her.

Abel had waited for the other two to pass, watching them quiet and cold. Approaching the porch he gave a sideways glance at Selyna, catching on. Not this again, he muttered curses under his breath, sidling past the two girls to stand between selyna and them as the passed. His shoulders were tense, he had seen how the older had reacted before, he wasn't about to give her the second chance to try it again. But as soon as they had passed, Abel moved on to enter behind them, like nothing had happened, half-hoping he had gotten the message across to Selyna, he didnt trust them, and he needed her to cut the crap.
He followed the girls in, but stopped in the doorway, excusing himself to go put a shirt on. Turning, he padded slightly down the hall, changing into his usual out, minus his long coat. His boots thuddingg down the hall announced his presence. The dark contrasted so much with his pale skin it seemed to make him even more pale. Reentering, he pulled the chair out from next to Aida. Making a mental note of where Selyna had sat, hoping it wasnt her tryin to pull that act again. THough he remained deadly silent.

Kaori noted the actions of her guess and sighed inwardly. While she could see how Selyna and Abels pasts would affect their reactions, both to each other and each others own acions, she still did not understand parts of the way they were acting. She tried not to worry about it though, and so mearly smiled at each of them in turn when they had sat down at the table. The witch remembered that she had told Selyna and Aida to eat while she had gone outside, and so was not sure how hungry either of them were. She decided that if Selyna looked like she was getting uncomfortable, either by eating to much to try and not appear rude, or by having everyone else eat in front of her without excusing herself for the same reason, that she would find a way to ease that discomfort.
For now though, she mearly dished herself up some sausage, bacon, eggs and pancakes. Passing the bowls around, she started to doctor her own food, then waited until everyone else had what they wanted before digging in.
((Okay guys, I've PM'd Gurnny_Lover (Aida) and hven't recieved a reply in a while. Do you think that we should ease her character out of the roleplay? Discus in the OOC hread please.))

Taking a sausage and a few pieces of bacon since she could always eat meat, especially since she hadn't had much lately, Selyna bit into them taking small bites, so she could remove herself from the conversation if need be, feigning politeness when her mouth was "full". She reflected on Abel's reaction to the girls when they walked by her, staring off into the table, as she thought, her eye brow rose for half a second before going back down. He's got a pack mentality, and apparently I'm in the pack now. Which is good if for no other reason than I can sleep here and get regular meals.... She tossed a sideways glance at him, letting it linger a little longer than she meant to, though unless someone was looking directly at her it would go unnoticed. You can curse under your breath at me all you want, but until you lose your extra parts, I'm not gonna feel comfortable around you... You could very easily overpower me... I mean look at those rippling.... Eyes widening at her train of thought, she gasped, causing her to begin choking on the latest bite of food she'd taken. Coughing into her fist, she dropped her sausage onto the plate and reached for her napkin, throwing apologetic glances at everyone, but Abel, feeling it best to not make contact with him at all after those thoughts. Sorry! cough Sorry everyone, must've cough been eating too quickly..Wiping her mouth as she cleared her throat and closed her eyes, desperately searching the inside of her eyelids trying to find an answer to her strange thoughts, her forehead furrowing in concentration. She opened her eyes, situated herself once again, and grabbed for her water. She went back to staring at her plate, cautious now about how much she ate, but the look on her face clearly gave away how lost in her thoughts she was, making it so she may have to be called by name more than once before responding.

The woods were still and quiet, empty and void. Odd, mused Darius as he strodd through this unnatural silence. No bird, no insect, not nothing. Stilness and silence were the dominating force here and it put Darius on edge. Onward Darius walked, the food he had eaten at the tavern already gone, as the yes sucked it away. Darius was considering heading back to the town as night began to creep in, when he cuaght what he believed to be a cabin. Odd. why would anyone live out here, especially with the events going on. Darius began to approach the cabin but frozze when he was but thrirty yards from it. He had cuaght it! the whiff of tainted aura inside! Darius smirked. So, anathama were here where they? Darius drew out his rapier and pulled the bandage that covered his eye away, though he kept his lid firmly shut. Darius began to walk slowly toward the building, knowing the time of judgement was coming for the damned withing.

It was a good thing the window had been left open after the confrontation with Selyna. He thanked the approaching winds that gave him enough of a fair warning. Abel abruptly stopped eating, his fork clatterin back to his plate. His shoulders stiffened and low growl emitted from deep within his chest. It was such a feral sound, it seemed like a trick that it looked like it came from the human-looking man.
"s**t" He snarled once more, before he got up from his chair, almost allowing it to clatter to the floor. He headed back down the hallway, getting his bow and swords. If this man left alive with news of such a gathering, there was nothing any of them would be able to do. Kolette and her father had enough hunters to outnumber them easily, and they were all skilled in exterminate their type. Such would be a nightmare.

Everything that Abel had just done had happened so fast that Kaori jumped in surprise when he shoved his chair back. Concern creased her features as he ran to his room. She could see him coming back out with his weapons and so excused herself, heading down the hallway herself. Entering her room, she closed her eyes, focusing her energy on scanning the aura's of those around her, then expanded the area to that out side of her house, right to the tree's.
She opened her eyes quickly then, having sensed someone that should not be there. Though she could not tell who it was, she did not like the feeling that their energy pattern had given her. Grabbing her own bow and a quiver she headed to the front of the house. Whoever was there was not welcome on her property, and she intended to let them know that.

Blinking furiously as the clattering fork and growl knocked her out of her concentration; Selyna looked up quickly at the sound of the chair scraping back quickly and Abel making a bee line out of the dining room. Then when Kaori stood, she too removed herself from the room and tried to follow behind her hostess, but she’d moved to quickly and she didn’t know which way to go. Kaori…? Standing there confused and helpless for a moment, she became alarmed when both Abel and Kaori came out brandishing weapons. She too had smelled someone, but not knowing this area, she didn’t know who was supposed to be here and who wasn’t, so she tended not to say anything. Following behind them, seemingly defenseless, she wanted to help protect the home from whatever or whomever it was they felt was such a big threat. Walking out on the porch to try and spot who was there, she began to charge her hands, something that would go unnoticed by the others unless they were close enough to feel the “static” jump from her to them, much like scoffing your feet across carpet and then touching something made of metal. The shock wouldn’t be more than an attention getter and wouldn’t do any damage. Selyna had a tremendous amount of control over her ability, but never had to deal with people in close proximity to her when she was charged unless they were the ones she was attacking, so she didn’t learn to compensate for others near her.

Kaori looked over her shoulder at Selyna, "Selyna, you do not have to come out here if you would rather be inside..." Her concern for her guests safety was written on her features, just visible in the light coming from the house. Though the witch appreciated the willingness of the shifter to help fight whoever was on Kaori's property, she did not want her getting hurt. Perhaps it was the way that her parent's had raised her before they had died, but the woman always felt responsible for anything that happened while someone was a guest in her house. While the young woman faced the other, she kept her senses open, waiting for some indication of an attack by the unknown.
((Hinge, Tanyeera, just to let you know, there is a forum in the OOC area for this roleplay, incase you didn't knoww smile ))
