Haruko blinked twice and looked at the paper, taking her hand off of her zanpakto. She read it carefully three times, then looked towards the girl. Oops...
Haruko stood straight up and rubber the back of her head, forcing an unconvincing laugh. "Yes, of course, roommate, I knew that!" she said, trying to cover up the fact that she was blushing wildly at her mistake.

Hito took the slip and put it back in her pocket from whence it came. She looked over at her roommate, blushing madly and trying to say she knew the whole time. Once she had finished her little outburst Hito asked in her normal, rude, and somewhat arrogant way, "Hey, little liar, have a name?"

Haruko instantly dropped her head, and said softly, "Haruko..." she than sat down on the bed she had claimed for herself earlier, placing her hands calmly on her knees. She carefully studied the other girl for a second before asking "And your name is...?"

Hito glanced in the girls direction again, seeing her drop her head. She seems kinda... moody. "Hito." She stated simply, starting to get her things situated. She felt the awkward silence begin to fall over the room, but she didn't care much for coming up with stuff to say. Usually the words would pop into her head at the proper, or in most cases improper time.

Haruko pulled a small box out from under her bed, and opened it up. It was filled with rice balls, made espcially to last for long periods of time, and she took one out and took a small bite from it. She then held the box out to Hito, and asked quietly, "Want one?"

Upon hearing some rustling Hito turned to the other again seeing... what was that? FOOD!? Hito dived at the box yelling "Arigatou~!" She snatched one, rolled and sat contentedly eating it, sitting crosslegged a distance of three feet away from Haruko on the floor.

Haruko blinked a few times, taking a moment to register what had just happened. She's... energetic... She smiled softly at Hito and leaned back in her bed, taking another bite from her rice ball and digging around in a box for her diary and something to write with.

Hito devoured the riceball quickly then heard Haruko move again. She looked over and saw the other shuffling through a box of whatnot. "Wussat?" Hito suddenly moved over peering into the box.

"Just a bunch of junk..." Haruko said, quickly moving a blanket over a dress and an old book, both of which were bloodstained and battered. She then pulled out her new diary and began to scribble away in it about what had happened today.

Hito noted Haruko's quick movement. "Covering up something are we?" She moved a little more towards the box. "But if it's just junk you wouldn't mind if I took a look wouldja?" Once both Haruko's hands were occupied with a diary she snatched into the box and pulled out a bloodstained cloth (the dress). She held it up looking at it oddly. "Hmm..."

Haruko smacked Hito across the face with her dairy, and snatched the stained, red dress from her and held it up against her chest, tears running down her face. She quickly pulled the box up next to her to stop Hito from grabbing anythingthing else.

"Wha-" Hito was stunned for a minute and put her hand up to her face where a slight red mark was starting to appear. "Oddly enough, it's not the first time I've been book-slapped." She muttered under her breath. She looked over at Haruko who was now crying and holding the bloodstained thing. It was also noted that the other had pulled her 'box of junk' away from Hito.
"Oh God, what have I done now?" The tone in her voice was almost mocking, even though she didn't mean it to be. "Something important and or painful I'm guessing, wanna talk about it?" Hito sat down on the floor crosslegged again.

Haruko shook her head and put the dress and her diary back in the box, burying her face in her pillow. She still held the box close to her, away from Hito. That dress is all I have left of him... whats her problem?
Suddenly she was hit with memories from that day... her father, laying battered, beaten, and dieing against the wall, and the man carrying her mother away...
Calm yourself, child! Forget such memories for now. boomed a voice in her head, and the images faded.
Hai, hawk-chan...
She buried her face deeper into her pillow, trying to stop the tears.

"Meh," Hito stood up walking back towards the bed she claimed as her own. "Why keep things that will only cause you pain to see them. Isn't it better to forget things like that, which hinder you?" She laid back on her bed staring up at the ceiling.

Haruko stopped shaking after a little while, but continued to cry. After a couple more minutes, she asked meekly and through her pillow, "Do you have parents?"
