"Sure, that works for me," Brayden smiled, returning the kiss with a grin, "We shouldn't be much longer here. Once we're done cleaning, I'll head on over there," he agreed easily. Brayden had made his way to the upstairs bedrooms, and was occupied with airing out the curtains at the moment, thankfully this time them being Zubat-free.
"I'll stick here for a bit, but I shouldn't be much longer," he assured Kaya as he set the curtains back up on their hanger, as Caliga chased a few stray Starly out the open window, Sai on her tail.

Brayden and his partners continued to clean the upstairs bedrooms for a while. Once they reached what he considered fairly clean, he made his way outside, opting to explore a little bit before he met up again with Kaya.
The stream in the backyard caught his fancy when he had first spotted it, so he chose to follow it for a bit, taking off his shoes and wading in the cool water, Sai swimming along in the deeper parts of the stream.
Like anything in the town, it was clean, Brayden mused with a smile. Sai seemed to be enjoying himself in any case.

It didn't take long for Brayden to notice that the stream ran past the few small lakes that bordered the lands to the Windworks.
"Now that seems like an interesting place..." he commented to Sai, who shrugged faintly. He didn't know what to make of the tall wind combines that dotted the landscape like miniature towers.
"Those are windmills," Brayden explained to the confounded Vaporeon, "They take the power of the wind to generate energy. If I'm not mistaken, that's how the whole town is powered," he reasoned.
Sai nodded, not really interested in the lot of it. As long as the strange towers didn't bother him, he had no qualms with them.

"In any case, I was thinking about doing a little fishing," Brayden admitted to the Vaporeon, who looked up curiously as the boy dug his pole out. In fact, he took out all three.
"I've honestly never done this before," Brayden muttered, trying to fit the pole together. He'd never really fished before. Which was why he hadn't caught some of the basic water types.
"Haven't even managed to catch a Magikarp yet," he laughed to himself, as he finally fit the two ends of the pole together, snapping it into place.

It didn't take long for Brayden to feel a tug on the line. He yanked back, hooking the Pokemon on the other end as he reeled in. As chance would have it, Brayden spotted the flicker of orange scales under the surface of the water and smiled faintly.
"Looks like that Magikarp was easy to find," well that was one off his list.
"Sai, help me with this one, would you?" Brayden asked. Sai nodded, and performed an admirable Aqua Tail upon request from Brayden. Once the fish was weakened, and after retaliating with a rather pitiful Splash, Brayden dug in his bag for his Pokeballs, finally finding one as he threw it at the prone fishie.

Now Brayden had pretty much considered it a wrap. Reaching down to pick up the Pokeball, he suddenly found himself with a face full of flailing fish as the Magikarp broke free from the Pokeball.
"Gah!" the 'expert' water master yelped, falling backwards into the stream, earning a chuckle from Sai, and a Splash from the Magikarp.
Sputtering, Brayden snagged another Pokeball, tossing it at the Magikarp with a grimace.
"Geez, for such a weak fish, he sure does have some spunk," Brayden muttered, flinging his now-soaked shirt to the shore of the stream.

"One more down," Brayden grinned, as he picked up the Pokeball once it had stilled.
"That's all the fishing I can do with this Old Rod," he told Sai, "Unless we want to fish up a few more Magikarp, which I'm not too interested in doing. So why don't we go ahead and pack up for now?"
Sai nodded, hopping out of the stream as he shook, sending water flying. Brayden picked up his shirt from the grassy shore, wringing it out a bit before flinging it over his shoulder. He packed down his rods and tucked them back in his bag. He was about to start heading to the house, when Sai caught his attention.
"What is it?" he asked, following Sai's gaze to the ground. The glimmer of old metal caught his eye as he knelt, picking up the small ribbon.
"Hm, is this what Kaya was talking about?" he asked Sai, who shrugged, he didn't have any earthly idea.
So the two headed to the Pokecenter to get a second opinion from Nurse Joy. After a bit of washing, the ribbon was easier to see, as Nurse Joy handed it back to Brayden with a smile.
"That's a Contest Ribbon," she explained, before shaking her head as Brayden offered the ribbon back to her.
"But won't the owner want it back?" he asked. As far as he knew, ribbons were like badges for coordinators, and he'd be definitely more than a little distraught about losing one of his badges.
"No, this ribbon was from long ago," Joy explained pointing to the design. "They changed the looks of the ribbons years ago, so whoever lost this would be long gone. I'd say about fifty years or so."
"So this will evolve a Feebas, though," Brayden asked, still not really sure how the whole thing worked.
"Right," Joy nodded, "You see, there's a small stone in the center of the ribbon if you look closely," she explained, pointing it out to Brayden. And indeed, there was a small blue stone in the center of the metal piece that held the ribbon together.
"Its actually a rare form of stone. People call it the Beauty Stone," Joy continued, as Brayden listened intently.
"The stones are sadly not found anywhere any longer, they've been all dug up as far as scientists know of," Joy spoke, "However, a couple of decades ago, they were quite common, just like Fire Stones and the like are today."
"They used these stones in decorations for contest ribbons. So those ribbons carry the same power as the stone."
"Ah," Brayden nodded, finally getting it. After thanking Nurse Joy and pocketing the ribbon, Brayden and Sai hightailed it back outside.
