{{I know no one's around, but I needa get back into this. sweatdrop I'll be checking back again later. ^^;}}

Sukutu yawned lazily and stretched out on his side, one ear twitching lightly in the breeze. He pawed absently at the ground as he pushed himself into a sitting position and glanced over at the watering hole. Now that he thought of it..he was feeling rather thirsty.. The cub gave another lazy stretch, sighing softly as all the little kinks slowly worked their way out of his muscles. He crept out of the clump of grass he'd been lounging in and made his way to the pool of water, ears twitching habitually for any foreign sounds as he leaned down for a drink.

The cub, as soon as it's grasped in Kitwana's jaws, starts struggling as much as it's weak body permits it to, crying again; but it's hard to tell if it's from the rain, fright at being taken away from it's guardian, or something more sinister. It squirms frantically.

Light flashes, quite close, lightening the ground below it for the briefest of seconds, while thunder booms overhead.

As Mwezi lays her head down and refuses to move, a figure steps out from behind a set of boulders nearby. It's pelt is a soft reddish-brown, like and yet unlike a Firekin's. It walks with grace and poise - obviously an adult lioness, and a large one, at that. It's eyes are a very odd royal purple color. At this distance, and in all the mist and spray, it looks as if a faint shroud of white mist surrounds the lioness - but that's probably just due to the poor light and torrential rain.

"Are you just going to leave her there?" A soft voice, not unlike that of silver bells, slips from the newcomer, and she watches the ragged adolescent expectantly, head tipped demurely to the side.

Dama's ears flicked back as she heard a voice, and she paused, wearily looking behind her. It didn't sound like Mwezi's voice, so who was behind them? When she saw the other lioness, she shook her head, turning back towards Kitwana to continue on. She was seeing things. It was the fact that she was so tired. But something in the voice made her pause again. Hissing softly, the grey juvenile turned around, backing up towards Kitwana, but holding an agressive posture, as if to protect her companion and new found friend.

"Who are you, and what's it to you if we leave her here? If the situation were reversed, she'd kill us in a heartbeat...." Dama's head jerked towards the still form of Mwezi. What was this now? Dama was getting an attitude? Maybe it was just pent up from having been surpressed for too long. Laying her ears flat along her skull, Dama stopped in her backing up, holding her ground against this newcomer. Kitwana would not be caught offguard and stabbed in the back by anyone as long as she had a say about it. "What do you want, stranger? Where are you from, and whom to you belong to? The Blood, or another pride?" How was Dama to know that what she was seeing around the lioness wasn't just her eyes playing tricks on her? How was Dama to know that she was rather rudely addressing someone who could very well extinguish her life in one movement?

The gray lioness heard the cub's cries from Kitwana's jaw, and turned her head towards them, to see what was going on, if they were alright. Her worst fear was that they would be surrounded and attacked. How did she get so wise to such things? Maybe past experience played a factor... Or maybe she was finally just growing up and learning of the world instead of surpressing it...

Fumi snapped back from his previous annoyance by the newcomer's appearance, afterall he was a bird and his small little brain had memory troubles. What's this? He bounced around to face the stranger, an eyebrow cocked and his head tilted. Now it was getting interesting. Before it had only been a tustling pride but now this was just bizarre.

Fumi fluffed up his feathers in a defense trying to appear larger. If this lion was a threat, which usually was what most lions were, he would need to be braced and ready. "Who you?" He chirped out in curiousity.

Zumaradi rolled off the rock and onto his feet as he woke from his nap. He shook his head and lookd around blinking sleep from his eyes. The plains were filled with the usual herds and the birds were in the sky.

He trotted away from the rock into the warm sun to see wht entertainment he could find for the day

Azizi stretched herself, showing off her toothy yawning..
She looked around, the pride seems quiet within these days, after kimondo disappeared. She made herself down to a nearby waterhole where the water always stay fresh.Crouching low, gently she took a sip while her sensitive ears perked, listening to the surrounding.

"A whole new Day!I wonder if Mwinda will allow me to join the huntress to hunt today.."Azizi thought to herself

Born to be a hunter, her instinct became clearer each days.Azizi learned every different skills and tricks from each individual huntresses while following them to the hunting area, but she was asked by the leader of the huntress,Mwinda to stay low behind the tall bushes while the pack stalked down the selected prey. Then, when she was back to the pride rock, she'll practiced them on little insects or bones left from the previous hunt.Day by day,she improves better than before.

((Hey! Just so you guys know... it's suppose to be raining. sweatdrop
Oh, and Naita/dust/Angie, mind if I join you guys? Kiyowe's suppose to be somewhere around there, but no one has found her yet. ^-^;; ))

There it was again! She was sure she heard something... Those voices... More than one voice... She wasn't sure who or what they were... but she definitely heard it. She perked her head up, trying to see into the distance, perhaps catch a glimpse of source of the sound. But the rain pouring down obscurred her vision. Everything that wasn't right in front of her turned into hazy shapes. They could be anything... anywhere...

{{^^; Okay. Sorry 'bout that - still getting back into the swing of things.}}

Sukutu yawned lazily again, ears still twitching in the downpour. He didn't seem to mind the rain too much, actually. It was pleasantly cool, even if it did leave his fur thoroughly soaked afterwards. Still, he had been out in it long enough.. He stretched one foreleg out with a content sigh and sauntered toward Pride Rock - best to get out of this weather before he made himself sick.

e_e forgive my poor rafiki rp-skills... I'll try my best to get better as i go on

A thin flash of grey leaped up into the nearest hornbeam tree, as a flash of lightning streaked across the cloudy sky.

Shaking himself off, Rafiki peered out into the downpour. It had rained for many days now, never stopping. As much as he hated getting wet, the rain was good for the lands. Pride Rock needed as much as it could get, and the water would refresh all life, helping it carry on.

The old mandrill grabed a gourd from his voo-doo collection, and started munching on it as he held a makeshift bowl full of spices and sand into the rain. Letting it fill some, he sniffed at it expecantly, and gazed into the contents. a zebra was killed recently, but twins were born yesterday... There is much trouble over with the lions, especially the princess... I wish these things could be solved easily, not with such violence and cruelty. but aah... a new cub is here. What a good sign, hopefully it will mean happiness to most, if not all.
Setting aside the bowl, Rafiki settled down and peered out into the downpour, closing his eyes and just listening to the soothing rhythm of the life-giving rain, eventually drifting off into a nap.

((Eeps, first post with Koho... *hides*))

A sigh escaped the female as she padded across the flat lands, towards Pride Rock and her shelter. She had been gone from this land so long, yet it felt as familiar as yesterday. Some welcome home with was, all through her multiple day journey it had rained and rained, no relief coming from the torrent of water falling from the sky. As she neared her former home her gait slowed to a pace, wariness creeping into her. She had been gone for a long while, would Mufasa still accept her as a member to the pride. She was already as soaked to the bone as she could possibly be, perhaps she should wait until she could seek the king or queen to ask for repentence and acceptance once more.

Just as she was about to turn away to find shelter for a good rest, the lionesses amber eyes fell across a shock of gray in an otherwise bland hornbeam tree. Her brow creased and her padded feet brought her softly forward for investigation. She had no wish to eat the creature, if it was edible, there had been plenty of game stuck in mud to feed her belly, she simply wondered what sort of creature sat in trees and ate gords in the pouring rain!

Grasping the cub tighter despite it's protests, Kitwana sighed, the hot breath supressed by the little red child. He had to move, and little ingrates of cubs weren't going to stop him. He was tiring now, the lack of food and the chill affecting even his hardened body, so used to apalling extremes. They had to move, move before they collapsed. And he needed rest before dragging the burden of a lazy princess to shelter.

At the sound of a voice behind them, the adolescent rounded, eyes narrowed. Who evaded his senses in the approach? Who sprang upon them while their backs were turned? Gaze flitting over the regal form to approach, the ragged lion's suspicious mind searched for a name, despite the unfamiliar nature of her face. The size of her prickled at his mind, the mist surrounding her creating the look of a deity among the mere mortals, come to test them. But he was not one for fairy stories. He had tested the gods, and they had failed. His tests had murdered a cub, and his hopes. They were useless to him, useless as they had been throughout his wretched life. Useless and most likely mere stories to comfort young Firekin children, assure them that their laziness, arrogance, and cruelty were all god-given rights.

Placing the cub next to Dama, who was alarming him in her manners, the former slave continued his determined gaze on the stranger. Stupid kid would get herself killed acting like that, with no muscle to back it up. Stepping in front of the juvenile rather rudely, an attempt to silence her verbal assault, he suppressed the snarl bubbling within him, settling for a mere sneer.
"Ma'am, you trifle in matters you do not understand. Yes, I am leaving her there, at least until she shuts up. Can you think of any other way to get her to shelter without her words provoking me to actions I may regret in the morning? She is an arrogant little princess, but I will not be her killer. No doubt she's well capable of dying without my help." having said this, Kitwana raised his eyes to meet the newcomer's, no shame behind his gaze. He was in the right, his mind urged.

Fumi bounced to face the scraggled excuse for a lion. What was wrong with these creatures? Did they have a torny twig wedged into their frontal lobs? This was all to strange, why did he ever get involved in all of this. These proud creatures barely responded to his frantic words of support, they ignored him, treated him like trash, and even tried to consume him for their own well being. This is the last time he tries to help out another species, exspecially ones that are larger them him.

He shoved that thought away, he was one of the toughest birds in his colony. The nest was back waving in the wind and he was here trying to calm down a group of predatorial creatures, that treated him like another pebble on the ground. A shallow chirp spilled from his mouth and he fluffed up. If these prideful creatures thought they were better then him, then he was better then THEM.

Fumi snapped away from his focus on the annoying, smart-a** lion, and faced the strange one that had just joined the despute. She was different, she had that air about her. He looked at her feet, there really was an AIR ABOUT HER! The mist!? His eyes snapped up to magnet her face, was this really one of the divine spirits from the lion tales he ease dropped on. His small bird mind was putting it all together, and finally the puzzle came together. She must be one, but why does she take worry in a little pride tiff. It doesn't concern her.

Fumi bounced over, would a god really harm him if he got close enough. She was indeed a lion, would he appear to be another snack to such a creature. All these matters interested him, but he kept his distance. Perhaps sooner or later he would find out, but that was only going to happen if he stood his ground and showed these arrogant lions his worth.

(( Go ahead, Starr-chan! ^__^ We're by some large boulders by Pride Rock, I believe. <3 ))

The lioness's calm, quiet visage does not leave her face. There's a hint of a smile at the edge of her lips - or perhaps it's already a smile - that does not seem to cease, despite the pouring, drenching rain and the horrible elements. Her purple eyes disappear into a short blink.

She answers the child second, the adolescent first, her gaze roving over over his ragged form quietly. "And yet you leave her here," She says, quietly, insisting on the point. "I'm not asking you forgive her - yet. But she is the result of a poorly-cultured society. Have you ever wondered what she might have grown up like, had she lived differently? Mwezi is as much of a victim as you are, child; and in the coming weeks, she'll come to realize it. She has none of the survival skills you do for surviving out on the savannah...her life has been an idle one until now, so she has none of the strength for it, either." Those strange eyes disappear into another blink. "I am sorry for your upbringing," She says, sounding strangely and truly regretful. "But I do what I must." Is that a threat? Promise? It's certainly twisted enough to mean any number of things.

Her gaze shifts to Dama and hardens, somewhat; and then, almost as if she's remembering something, seems to consider and soften again. "As to your question, child of the Mists - I belong to no-one. I am not of the pride of the Blood, but I've know of them for many years." Something seems to break in her eyes; it's a sad look, a dispirited look. She slants a look towards Fumi, chortling, and the look disappears. "Good eve, child of Hestia. But not so much a trickster, I'd hope." She makes no move to pounce him or eating; instead, she stiffens slightly, sniffing the air - as if she could smell anything in this downpour - and cocking her ear to listen. She faces all the cardinal points but one, before relaxing, her attention drifting back to those before her.

Curiousity did not let Kiyowe sit still for long. Slowly and carefully, she wandered from the shade of the tree. Her food hung almost forgotten in her mouth as she listened and headed towards some rocks in the distance. The rain made it hard to tell how far away it really was. Slowly, hazy shapes began to form. Lions...? 4 of them... perhaps? She stopped a short distance, half hidden by a large rock, and watched. That large lioness... she seemed different from the rest of them... There was something about her that Kiyowe couldn't quite place. And... she had purple eyes too... She stood, almost somehow mesmerized by the scene in front of her. They weren't members of her pride, she knew that for sure. But perhaps it was a bit too rude to just walk up to them and ask who they were, or what they were doing...

What did she just call me? Child of Hestia? Fumi cocked an eyebrow, he had never in all his years of flying across this savannah had he ever heard such a name, at least when it was directed at him. His flustered feathers relaxed and fell in smooth to his side. He was really getting the impression that this lion wouldn't try to eat him. After adjusting his wings slightly, he turned to look at Mwezi.

From what he had heard from the purple-eyed lion, this one was having a rough time. He laughed inwardly to himself, joking of the problems of pride life. His nest colony was so much better, all are equal in the colony and there are never such skirishes between helping out a fellow bird in need. Fumi had already come to the conclusion that colony life was far better then pride life, but he usually found his information through observing so he really was no fit judge.

This purple-eyed lion didn't know how tricking he sometimes was, but like most creatures he couldn't be naughty a hundred percent of the time, then a life of crime would just get boring.
