Quinn scampered back to Oura as the little man finished his request. Grabbing her hand, she sent a visible tremor through Oura's body as she hopped around in agitation. "We're gonna get those ...something something..." Her voice faded to a mumble as she broke off into a string of profanities.

Punching her palm with her fist, she looked at Oura, a fresh zeal twinkling in her eyes. "Come on. We have to find Vash... and Odilen. I'd never hear the end of it if we left her behind. 'Sides, she's good at finding stuff out."

She scanned the room, frantic to get started. "Do you see them?" she asked Oura, bouncing on her tiptoes.

Zayn nodded as the Onion Knight spoke. It would seem they were to quest again, though this one was far more serious than the last. He was eager to begin this, though, hoping to glimpse the airship once agaon or this 'young crystal' that had been stolen. One thing was for sure, he was certainly going to have a lot of inspiration for his art after this!

"That sounds good," he replied the Mirror. "Something tells me it would be a bad idea to try and catch the owner of that airship alone. We're going to need to work in teams to get this done. Shall we find our companions, then?"

"At once," Mirror replied, "Let's see if we can find Fire or Ky. I think we might also need one more so we'll pick up whoever else wants to go, huh?" Mirror said, starting into the main part of the temple where the humming crowds buzzed about on the main floor. Mirror attempted to peek over the moving mass of bodies before him but to no avail. Al Sylian were short and Mirror was no exception.

"Wait right there, please," Mirror said over the dim buzz of the crowd, "I'm going to float overhead to see if I can find Fire or Ky. If I find them, I'll motion to you alright? See if you can find one more member."

With that, the Al Sylian called upon the inner tingling of the silver bells within his mind and instantly he was floating an inch over the ground. He pulled on an invisible string above his head and he moved upwards until he was floating about nine feet in the air. Mirror focused his eyes into the crowd, attempting to scout out the familiar clothing of his friends but to no avail.

"Fire, where are you?" Mirror called out, cupping his hands over his mouth,"Ky? Ky!"

Watching Mirror fly up into the air, Zayn felt a touch envious. Gliding was nice, but he wondered what it would be like to actually be able to fly. Supposedly some of the Ieldi could, but it required different wings... Zayn had never actually met anyone of his race who could fly properly.

"I'll just... wait right here," he muttered wryly, rubbing his head and feeling a little useless. Standing up on his tiptoes, he tried to search for the familar figure of Fire and the less-familiar Ky.

Merrick, focused on the Onion Knight, didn't hear the soft clearing of Roger's throat. He did, however, notice the Lady Niva turn away from him, and the friendly way she was putting her arm around another man, then whispering in his ear. Softly, Merrick sighed to himself...it was just his luck to get a dance partner that was already taken. Maybe he really would be stuck with Sasha as the only woman in his life...

But the man, whom the noble belatedly recognized as the one who'd been in the corner trembling, looked as though he wanted to speak to Merrick. He looked too nervous to want to be starting a fight over Merrick dancing with his lady, so he must want something else entirely.

"What is it, man?" Merrick asked quietly, so as not to drown out the Onion Knight if he chose to speak again. "Come on, chin up, you needn't be afraid of me. I don't bite, and Sasha won't unless you have food on you."

The horse, who was probably uncomfortably close to Roger at this point, not to mention being pressed up against more than a few people who were gathered around Onion Knight, snorted indignantly upon hearing her name.

Odilen stood up on her tiptoes and hopped, trying to get a better view in the crowd. BoCo squeaked in protest, then retaliated by taking a good strong grip on her hair with his feet. Ow.

After a few minutes, she realized that there was another, familiar bobbing head across the room, doing a similar tiptoe-bounce routine. "Quiiiin," she called out, raising one winged arm and waving it energetically, then squirming through the crowd towards the other woman. "Did you SEE that? The vines and the airship and everything? What a scene!" she said enthusiastically as she got close.

Quinn emmited a small squeek of excitement as she heard her name hollared from across the room. Spotting a slight silvery wing waggling in the air, she squeezed Oura's hand and shouted, "ODILEN! Its Odilen, Oura. Now we just have to find Vash."

As the Bard approached and let forth her litaney of questions, Quinn's countenance darkened slightly. "Yes, I saw the villians." She disgustedly spat the last word. "Let's find Vash so we can hunt them down and skewer them."

In shock and her wrist hurting from being dragged around by Quinn, Ourania could feel Fiore's heated rage filtering over into her mind. How dare that woman even think of removing a crystal that wasn't hers. As a person she was horrified, but as a summoner she was outraged. "I agree with that skewering suggestion." she murmured heatedly, stroking Basape's small paw when he crawled up onto her shoulder. "Quickly, if we split up we may be able to find him faster. Meet at the dessert table in five minutes?"

Once Onion Knight had finished talking, Masa turned him around in her hands to face her. "Don't worry, we'll get her..." She looked over her shoulder towards the forest, to where Roan had given it new life out of nothing, just using his magic. Her head then turned back to the crowd of people. Many of them were chattering to one another. It seemed like many of them had at least one friend present. "Are you going to stay here Onion?" The reason she was asking is because she was hoping to tag along with Onion Knight, as it would be better than travelling alone. But then she thought of Roan, and she was then wondering if Onion Knight would be travelling with him.

"How you decide to find the Baroness is entirely up to you." Onion Knight replied calmly in relation to Merrick's question before gazing up towards Masamune for a few moments. In all honesty he hadn't given her question any consideration but now that it had been posed he did note the importance within it...afterall they would need someone smart and courageous to help them through the trials that awaited them!

"I believe I will be going with you." He responded in a matter-of-fact tone, offering a smile as he plopped his helmet back onto his head and patted at her hands as if in indication to let him down again. He had much to dicuss with Behebuncle in that respect but -

"I am sure many of you are aware of the previous events, use whatever suspicious moments you desire in order to make a rough guess as to where the Baroness might be - I have no doubt at least one of you would have stumbled upon something of hers in recent months!" He added to the crowd and gave a small salute.

Taking note of the Onion Knight's words, Zayn nodded, frowning in concentration. What had he seen...?

The airship! There'd been a similar airship appearing over the Island Retreat. He'd suggest to Mirror and the others that they start there, then. Rocking back and forth on the tips of his place, Zayn tried to contain his excitement. This would be fun!

(( Epee, I did say my group would start from the Island Retreat, didn't I? ))

Wonderful, Merrick thought to himself at the Onion Knight's answer. He was sure the little man was holding out on him; with all the hints the tiny fellow was dropping, Merrick was certain the small one knew more than he was letting on...but why wouldn't he just say it outright? Didn't he want the crystal to be rescued? So why would he withhold information from those he asked to quest for it?

Maybe the little man was a spirit of some sort. It was entirely possible, given his odd appearance. And some spirits had great difficulty with saying important information outright...a few of them managed only to divulge things in riddles, and dropped hints. Maybe this Onion Knight was one such as those...

Which really didn't help Merrick in the slightest. In fact, it made him feel quite frustrated about the whole affair. He had never even heard of the Baroness Regalia before tonight...well, the name did sound familiar, perhaps his father had mentioned her once as the person who ruled such and such a barony...perhaps he should have paid more attention. In any case, the only clue Merrick had was that the airship had been heading west. The woman who stole the crystal seemed incautious and flashy enough to not care if any pursued her...perhaps she would not have done the smart thing and changed direction once she was out of sight.

He knew that she was a baroness...wouldn't she flee to the barony that she ruled? That still left a wide area to search, but it narrowed things down somewhat...she probably wouldn't be so stupid as to go to the family manor (or would she?) but if Merrick were her he would certainly flee to a place where the law was on his side.

Unless her people hated her. Then it would be stupid to flee to her barony.

Oh...this was getting him nowhere. Now his brain ached. Maybe he should just ask these "many who are aware of previous events" instead of thinking himself into circles.

*EDIT*

To this purpose, Merrick cleared his throat and stood up as tall as possible. "Excuse me! May I have everyone's attention for a brief moment? I'm well aware that there are far too many of us to all travel together, and that some of you may not wish to take such a dangerous quest at all...but perhaps it would be best that those of us willing coordinated our efforts, so that we don't go over the same ground twice or leave some of our number running about in the dark. It might be wise to share any clues we may have about where the baroness is hiding, or at the very least let the others know where we intend to search before we set out."

"Dessert table. Righto." Quinn shuffled back towards the door of the Hall, just hearing the small little man mention "suspicious events" and "stumbled on something of hers..." Putting her hand in her belt pouch on reflex -- she wanted candy, but her pouch had been emptied of it -- she instead pulled out a crumpled and mangled piece of paper.

It read: "Professor,

I have sent you several notes of the most amiable nature and my patience wears thin, as of late you have failed to return the required sources to me and this is not acceptable. Should you insist on continuing such nonsense then I shall have no other choice than to act."

"The letter from Barton..." Quinn breathed to herself, looking about half-heartedly for Vash. "I wonder..." She fingured the symbol debossed in the wax on the letter and sat down on the steps of the Hall to think.

"Do you really think..." Odilen breathed, peering at the letter over Quin's shoulder. "'I will have no choice but to act'... maybe THIS was the act?" Oh, it sent chills down her spine. Perfect foreshadowing already built in!

Of course, there was also a twinge of guilt. Perhaps if they'd been quicker, this would have served as a warning?

Vashtya finally spotted Quinny (after an embarrassingly long, roundabout trip to find a place to...erm...relieve his bladder without exposing himself to all and sundry--there was a time and place for everything, wasn't there?

Soundlessly, he crept up behind her and the other members of the group, having the grace to look sheepish as he hung back slightly, realizing that he'd probably missed...quite a bit.

Shakti leaned over from her favorite perch, anxious to figure out what was going on, as well..and having just seen more of her owner than she ever would've liked, she was anxious to BURN the memory from her brain. >3
