Ugh. I can't read threads like those without getting upset. Where do these kids get off on trying to sound like they know everything about breastfeeding and children when most of them are still children themselves and prolly couldn't handle being independent. When you refer to a child as a "crotch dropping" then you aren't intellegent enough to have a conservation in my eyes.

Little miss 'crotch dropping' should go take a long hard look in the mirror one day, to see what a true crotch dropping looks like. It seems the fact that she too was a baby is a fact that has escaped her.
I'm a cow. I'll admit it. I say that jokingly, because one day while I was feeding my youngest I started mooing for no reason as a joke. It's an inside joke with Izzy and I. I've also been on the other side of the fence as a bottle feeding mother. I simply was not producing enough milk for my oldest and had to start supplimenting.

I would do that to piss people off who would give me dirty looks for feeding my son in public, even though he is covered with a blanket and all you see is his feet. Oh, I'm such a b***h! xd

lunashock Well my biggest peeve with BFing Nazis is that ridiculous claim that their children will be smarter. How can you have an unbiased study with one baby who was breastfed and one who was formula fed? There are SO many factors that a study can't rule out such as money, genetics, environment, etc. And the antibodies are all well and good, but once they're past 6 weeks old, it's not as needed. I just don't see why she couldn't have just stuck with the guns, she had to go all militant on us stupid bad moms. I HATE the whole antibodies thing and this is why Anyone with even an INKLING of procreation would know that A baby ALREADY has antibodies in it's blood from anything you have antibodies to. Because before birth, it's blood was your blood, which is why you are tested for certain antibodies with your bloodtests, and if you don't have them they actually suggest immunizations for pregnant women. A baby can ONLY get antibodies that your body produces WHILE you are breastfeeding. Meaning if you get sick and your body fights it off you can then pass those antibodies onto your child. THIS is the ONLY reason that children breast fed "get sick less often" because they aren't catching the same colds as their parents and family because mommy is giving antibodies to the current cold dujour. It's not like you can just give your child all the antibodies in the world simply because it breastfeeds. And you know, at the risk of breaking my damn arm off patting my own back here, but I'm smart, as smart as my equally smart husband, we are well matched in intelligence, we've got the requisite awards and honors cords and GPAs and all that s**t. I was bottle fed from two weeks on, he was breastfed until two months past a year, exclusively. If it is true that my IQ should be 20 points higher, well then HOLY CRAP I should have been ******** steven hawking. ((Sorry this whole topic just pisses me off on both sides, the "crotch dropping" kids and the BFNazis because it's just ignorant rethoric and blather.))

The sad thing about "Crotch-dropping" woman, is that she claims to be 28 or 29 years old. That's old enough to know better, but by the way she posts, she's on the same level as the ULTRA-liberal 13-14 year olds. You don't have to like babies, but you shouldn't feel like you need to make it your personal mission on a goddamned webforum to bash all those who do like babies. And then to be soooo immature about it that you have to call all babies "crotch-droppings." Real mature for a damn-near 30 year old. I'm GLAD she's not having kids! I respect her decision not have or like children, but why get so rabid about it? I mean, it's like she tries to "convert" people with her baby-hating "preaching."
I wouldn't like to think about what I would say or do to any person who said those kinds of things to my face. I persoanlly challenge anyone to seriously call either of my children a "crotch-dropping" to my face.

I'm glad she won't have any children. We don't need anymore people with a attiude like that roaming the streets. I agree, you don't have to like children, but don't be disgusting or hateful about it.

*Sigh*
http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5659448
I replied on page 6.
What the hell is wrong with some people?! Is it *that* hard to have a decent relationship with your own child? This woman is taking basically no control nor responsibility in this mess. She just wants to blame the daughter (while saying things like her own daughter is "really messed up") and the guy. Is it THAT difficult to take control of a situation as SERIOUS as this? the woman needs some parenting classes, and the daughter DEFINITLEY needs more boundaries, authority, and structure.

Great post Loki, I think it at least got through to that guy.
I was screaming the same thing in my head, "Uh, get rid of the internet. If your daughter means that much to you, get rid of the problem."
