ChibiTotoro222 [kamui] ChibiTotoro222 [kamui] ChibiTotoro222 [kamui] ChibiTotoro222 I'm the third chair trumpet....Our whole band has only silver trumpets! xd The trumpets in our jazz band are the ones that have silver trumpets. There are two others that own one, but aren't in jazz band though. I don't own one, but I wish I did ._. I'm in jazz band!^^ Meh..I don't want to try out. I know I won't make it -.- Self confidence! I'm second chair in jazz band and first chair is this girl who is 1st chair in IMEA (gifted band dealie for IL) But I wouldn't gonk ..besides, I hate dressing up. We don't really have first chair, second chair, etc. You're a senior or junior(depending on how good you are) you play 1st. You're a freshman you're supposed to play 3rd, and 2nd parts are played by juniors and sophmores. Oh, our groups are seperated into Concert and Symphonic band, but there are still chairs. We have symphonic/concert band, jazz band, and wind ensemble. All different classes during the day.

We don't exactly have people lining up to be in Jazz Band at school....The two other trumpets, plus me, were....persuaded...to join, but we're the top three chairs in Wind Ensamble. As for parts, we all take turns playing 1st 2nd and 3rd-4th...I'm a Freshman, but I was in Jazz band in Middle School too....

I play trumpet Yay!!
Our school is so small we can't really have a jazz band since all together we can barly keep the two bands we have running. 90% of kids in junior band got stuck there by second choice.

I think my school is way different from most American schools. Hope this makes a little bit of sense...
We have a Senior and a Junior concert band. Senior is for grades nine to twelve and is an optional credit. Junior is for grades seven, eight and some grade nines with zero music experience.
We also don't really have much of a chair/audition system. Older, more experienced students usually play first and seconds and younger students are usually on seconds, thirds and maybe fourths.
All the practices are either before or after school. And during school time all we have is one mass music class for seniors (see above) and the grades sevens and eights get one trimester of music a year. blaugh
Also, you can only join jazz or R&B band if you are in the senior music class or if you are in senior concert band (exceptions are made).
BTW, this is my third year playing trumpet. I am in the tenth grade and I usually play first trumpet in the Senior concert band at my school and third trumpet (with the exception of "Pagent," I play first bcause the other trumpet players play the first and second cornet parts) at board-wide wind ensemble.

Hi, I apparently a) violated guild rules, and b) am impaired to the point that I can't find the "trumpet guild". Is there an actual trumpet guild or is this it?

This is just a thread, but think its sufficient enough right now for us trumpets. We, as a whole, dont come as often as we should, and our numbers are poorly represented. So, to start a guild just for us would be almost a complete waste of gold. I say almost becuase there are always afew of us that follow our instrumentation to closely, me being one myself.
So, in short, no this isnt the guild.

Previously, people were talking about the different bands at there schools.
We have an Orchestra, Junior and Senior Concert Bands, Brass Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Stage Band and a Flute Ensemble. I am in Senior Band, Orchestra and Brass Ensemble. I'm lead trumpet in all those bands. I'm trying out of Stage Band when we start school.
