Many people tend to forget that there are more ways to not be lonely than just having a romantic partner: Infact MANY Aromantics have a Quasiplatonic close as heck friend that is practically their soulmate, in a platonic fashion -- though all sexualities and romantic orientations can have a quasiplatonic partner! The nickname for a quasiplatonic partner is "Your Zucchini"! How cute is that! *will edit Cert in*

This is a fine example of the "Clearly something must be medically wrong with you due to you not being "Normal"" Mentality -- For ages things like homosexuality were considered an 'illness' that needed to be 'cured', and the same mentality is still in use today to some of the other, less common sexualities and romantic orientations such as Asexuality and Aromanticism. Some psychology books in the edition before this one actually record asexuality and aromantism as a mental disorder so many psychologists going by older amounts will target the aromantic or asexuality as a problem rather than an orientation. But Just like how heteromantic individuals cant fall romantically in love with their same gender (though they can fall deeply platonically - there's that quasiplatonic thing rearing its head again), aromantics are simply unable to fall in romantic love.
