When she touches the center stone, it immediately stops glowing. At the same time, the two leftmost stones in the right group begin to glow - different colors. The leftmost one is white, and the one immediately next to it is glowing red. The Obelisk does not dim.
For a few minutes, nothing that anyone in the area does has any significant effect at all on anything in the vicinity. Then, the five stones to the left and the two stones on the right all stop glowing. The Obelisk itself continues to glow, but it does not dim.

Well it seemed something had been figured out. Breach approached the center stone and paused, glancing at the others. With a breath, she touched the center stone, trotted to the second leftmost stone and nosed it, before rushing back to the sand dog stone and touching it once more.

As Breach touches the large center stone again, it ceases to glow. The obelisk continues glowing, however, and something else happens, too. On the right, the two leftmost stones are glowing white.
This state lingers for about a minute. Then, all that remains glowing is the Obelisk.
Instructions
In this puzzle, you will be playing Mastermind as a group. Unfortunately, only one kin can play at a time - but each kin can only take one turn per game of Mastermind (other kin may post suggestions or discuss their choices as often as you'd like).
There are six color options - yellow, which is the default color, red, blue, green, orange, and purple - and five rocks in the answer code.
To begin, one kin taps or steps on the rock with the sand dog symbol in the center. This registers to the obelisk that it's that kin's turn, and will cause the rock with the sand dog symbol to start glowing. Once a kin has tapped the sand dog stone, nothing anyone else does will affect the obelisk or the stones at all. For the kin who is playing, tapping a rock on the west side with a hoof changes its color. You may take as many posts as you'd like to take your turn - beginning and ending it in the same post if you don't have time, or taking a few posts to discuss before you lock in your answer, if you want other people's input. However, we'd like to request that you not take more than an hour of time, just to move things along quickly.
Pressing the sand dog rock in the middle again using green text locks in your answer. In that post, please clearly indicate the final color of each rock on the left side (using either OOC notes or very clear in-character description), at which point a GM-posted response of some sort will display on the rocks on the east side. Each white-glowing stone indicates that your proposed answer has one correctly-colored and correctly-placed stone. Each red-glowing stone indicates that your proposed answer has one correctly-colored but wrongly-placed stone. The rest of the stones on the right side will not glow. The order of the stones on the right side does not matter.
Once your kin has completed a turn, that's it until further notice! You must wait for other people to take their turns, and for the GMs to tell you that people who have participated may participate again, before you can submit another attempt. You may continue RPing, encouraging people or giving them suggestions as to what to submit.
In general, a round will be completed once the group has figured out the exact order and color that the stones on the left should be glowing. If there are too few participants to complete a round, a GM may, at their discretion, allow people who have already participated to take another turn. Furthermore, Red-Stained Blossom, Breach, Underneath, Beauty Past Compare, and Sea of Butterflies can take another turn in this particular round because they did not know what they were doing when they submitted their first turn. The information that you have gained from their first turns still stands.

"Oh! Oh! I think I've got it!" The exciteable newcomer charged his way to the center stone, intent on showing what he'd figured out.
"It's like the covered seeds game! You have to try to guess which seeds I have and what colours they are, and I can tell you how many you have right, and if they're in the right order."
He tapped his nose against the center stone, then tapped the one to its direct left once, then the next one twice, then the third thrice, then skipped the fourth, until the leftmost stone was nudged five times. He took a moment, mentally-doublechecking his work before walking back to the center, to try to demonstrate his idea with a final tap of his hoof.

The leftmost stone of the right group glows white. The next two over glow red. None of the other stones seem to change.
After about a minute, everything but the Obelisk dims. [purple - yellow - green - blue - red --> white - red - red - plain - plain]
others: [yellow - yellow - yellow - yellow - yellow --> white - plain - plain - plain - plain] [red - red - red - red - red --> white - white - plain - plain - plain] [red - yellow - yellow - yellow - yellow --> white - red - plain - plain - plain] [yellow - red - yellow - yellow - yellow - > white - white - plain - plain - plain]

Yes! This was it! He was helping! "The first thing that we need to figure out," the buck said in explanation, "Is what colours are in it, and then we can figure out order. The red glows and the white glows are hints that mean we're getting closer!"

Jester's confused and steps off the stones, clearly aware there is now a discovered pattern, and determines to watch a bit to learn the ropes, at risk of messing up the system for those who know how to light the stones. "If someone needs me to move, just let me know and direct me on where to go, otherwise..." He cringes and winces. "I don't want to mess up the order." He slips to the side next to his wolf companion and waits in case called upon for a task. "I fear I've bitten off more than I can chew," he tilts his head sideways, gawking at the wolf, who only glares at him sullenly, wishing his way back to the swamp already. "Yeah, yeah... What kind of jester doesn't do well with puzzles," he mocks.

Breach thought carefully before approaching the stone again. After touching the center stone, she approached each of the stones. It was with much deliberation that she nosed at the other stones until she had a flood of colors glowing. Yellow like the sun, red like fire twice, and then two blues like water. (●●●●●) Once her input was decided she walked back to the sand dog stone and touched it to lock it in.

He was good at this! He knew he could be! "Well, when we had them all yellow... we got one white light. And when they were all red, we got two! That means we have one yellow and two reds somewhere in the puzzle. When I did one red, one yellow, and three other colours, we had three right, which means only one of those colours was also there, but they could show up more than once. And because I didn't touch the fourth one, but the fifth wasn't a repeat colour, we know there's at least six colours!
We just need to know how many of the other colours there are! I'd guess you should touch one of them no times, two of them once, one of them four times, and then the last one either two or four!" At the other's motion, he stopped. "Make that four touches, four touches, none, one, and one.

"Like Jester, just tell me to move and I will," Unforgotten called out. All he was doing was standing aside anyway.

Tender quickly hopped down and slipped out of the way, watching the stones light up in fascination, as the experimentation began in earnest.

Jester flicks an ear and then trots over to where his friend watched. "They all have a system now, and understand what lights and such do. I'm not really moving anymore, so I can't direct you," he says with a sheepish smile. "I'm not good at these types of games. But I'm content to watch, and if they need me, I'll take a turn."

OOC: The rules for how to play have been posted, so if you're confused, you can check out what they've said in the last 2 pages! If you aren't sure you know how to play, it's fine, our kin can just converse if you want! XD

The fastest way to do this would be to try the other colours. "Someone try two blues, a green, a purple, and whatever the four-touches one would be?" The buck suggested.
