Post 3
It seemed the first round of fighting was over. The crowd cheered for the victors and loser alike, all of them were welcomed, and all of them had given it their all.
The intermission between fights was quick, but it gave most of the earthlings and alkidike to browse wares and continue to mull about. There were even rumors of betting going on now that the first round has proven some of the fighters' skills.

JHANA (post 4)
Jhana felt a thick pouring of dread at the idea of being caught fighting and she nodded her head. "That wouldn't have ended well, that's for sure." She answered Jerami.
They all knew at this point that Shima was the one to pick what they were doing, so when Shima started to pull them forward Jhana wasn't surprised in the least. What was shocking was the sudden push forward and the words 'you choose' coming from her lips. She turned to Shima for a quick second, her face reading confusion and disbelief before she turned to Jerami and then the stalls. "So what do you think Jerami?" She hesitated, before adding her suggestion. She wanted him to pick, but those meatballs on a stick smelled fabulous. "Maybe... something like this first?" She offered the balls with some sort of juicy glaze on top.

Kyruie Post 3
The younger brother stood awkwardly while forced conversation was being made. Though his fiance was in front of him he had no desire to really get to know her better and wished instead he could just...turn invisible. Being here made wasn't helping matters it made him feel shakey and paranoid, even though the likeliness of his slave master ever returning was slim to none. His brother had assured him even if grudgingly that he was in jail.
Kyruie looked to Ashta and Sriina and felt the urge to run, perhaps his brother sensed this as a hand came out to rest firmly on his shoulder causing any consideration of fleeing buried.
"Ah..yes...well I ...we..are..waiting..for our turns.." Kyruie managed his shield was heavy and resting on his back, whilst his brother had turned his weapons in so he didn't have to carry them around. "I should be going now..actually I think my round is...next." He went to move, his brother resisted letting go before finally Kyruie managed to pull himself away.
"Cheer...for me I suppose." Kyruie sounded as if he was asking for a death sentence and his brother looked unwilling to let him go.

Ashta Post 3
He couldn't help but give his brother a wary look, like a beaten dog who was ready to flee the scene he stopped him by placing a hand on his shoulder. It seemed to work for the most part and he tried to think of what else to say to lighten the mood when his brother announced it was probably his turn in the tournament. Ashta gave his brother a grim look, as if he didn't trust his judgement in such matters but he was right. Looking up at the sun he figured it was about the right time...and if he didn't participate he would know about it.
"Yes...do well little brother." Ashta managed groughly as he allowed Kyruie to slip away through the crowds. His gaze lingered on his brothers form until he couldn't see him anymore. Sighing one could see the stress release from his shoulders as he turned to face Sriina.
"I'm sorry...my brother..er...your fian..ce...is..well he is going through a lot." Ashta stumbled over his words unsure how to address Kyruie when it came to Sriina. He was still bitter about the engagement, but didn't want to disappoint his parents by making a fuss. He raised a hand to his forhead as if silently cursing his idiocy, being left alone with Sriina meant he had to focus on her and that only meant feelings he had intended to bury were rising once again to the surface.

Aldren Post: 3Aldren blinked, a flare of color rising to his cheeks at her wink and demeanor. He knew Zumei was an excitable woman with no qualms about a little playful teasing, so really, he shouldn't be surprised. But in that instant, it did catch him off guard enough that he stumbled against her insistent tug. And in some back corner of his mind, he had to admit that, Wind woman or not, Zumei was pretty. He'd always expected only Ice girls could be pretty, with their soft powdery blue skin and bright, telling golden eyes. It was familiar and nice in its own way, and Wind had always struck him as 'colorless' by comparison.
Not her. Wavy blond hair and sparkling crystal eyes and flushed cheeks from her fight- That said nothing of her personality. Zumei was more 'colorful' than most people he knew. She was also absurdly strong.
Aldren staggered after her with a chuckle, righting himself with her frame as he fell into step at her side. "To be honest, we don't generally eat a whole lot of sweets," Because where on Tendaji would they get such a thing in their frozen wasteland of a home? "But I've nothing against them. How about I make it my treat? As a- um- 'thanks for coming with me' or 'you fought a good fight, even if it didn't work out like you wanted' type of treat?"

Damissan Post: 1Damissan loved entertainment.
Whether it be parties, festivals, fairs, dances, plays, or musical performances, he enjoyed each in their own way. Of course, the further he made it from home, the less he expected to experience such things. He was leaving the land of that lifestyle, and he knew it. Intentional at it was, however, didn’t make him dislike any of the aforementioned — quite the contrary — and what better place to enjoy the last graces of civilization and festivity than the second largest city Oba had to offer, and a tournament with it?
Though he still wasn’t clear on the exact occasion giving rise to such a great to-do, far be it from Damis to complain about good fortune. The festival brought with it music, food, excitement, and with those: people. In the crowds flocked with travelers, he mingled. He talked. He made acquaintances, and whenever the slightest opportunity arose, he worked to bring in why he was here. Unfortunately, despite all its other benefits, ‘a propensity for listening with rapt attention to the concept of new religions’ was not a mood inspired in most people by the merrymaking atmosphere, and Damis found very few listening ears for that portion of his talk.
Among everything else positive that he did have to distract himself, he wasn’t especially put out.
Xilarn — given their stationary position for the time being, the perfect happenstance of the tournament’s scheduling, and the array of prizes available for victors, not to mention, presumably, boredom — had opted to enlist in the competition. Having only a basic young nobleman’s familiarity with his own blade and no practical experience, Damis had chosen to not, but there was a small amount of vicarious excitement to be had at the idea that Xilarn was.
That excitement, of course, expanded multi-fold when he returned to the main stands to find that the man had won his first battle. He wasn’t sure what he expected, then — merriment, smugness, or at the very least restless excitement — but after seeking him out and finally finding the man (off secluded, as far as he could press himself from the crowds, and looking as thoroughly put-upon as ever), Damis supposed he wasn’t precisely surprised by that, either. Snorting, he made a purchase of two of the nearest, appetizing-smelling festival food available—large, salted and spiced bread knots of some variety—and made his way up and back toward the man.
“If this is how you look when you win…” he said once in earshot, dropping to a seat beside the man when he got there and holding out one of the knots, “…I’d hate to see the one you make when you lose.”

ThertiaPost TwoThertia could see the apprehension in the Earthling’s face and the wariness in her voice as she spoke. Tia was used to the caution however; as she loomed above most Earthlings and that alone was enough to intimidated some. Thertia though was curious about the other species in Tendaji, and this particular Earthling had already bumped into her, so starting a conversation should be easy.
Thertia smiled in return to the Earthling who called herself Padma, and when she had finished talking explained that “This tournament will allow me as an Alkidike Prentice to prove myself to the other Alkidike's. Tia then inquired “May I ask what brings you to the tournament Padma?”Scarlett Arbuckle Your welcome! My response may be a bit delayed because I'm on vacation in Canada with Tasinei!

Xarnith Post 3 The youth nodded. Keeping one arm around Bisera as he looked over to the battles. "Its a learning experience to be sure." Fractis leaped back to Xarnith's shoulders, slipping himself into the warriors sling. Xarnith looked down at the small beast. "I don't think we can say we'll lose him. He's going to sleep in there." The male looked back up to the musician. Huh. "Music. I'm curious how you view life...being raised as a warrior I was taught music and dance were...sort of meaningless...but I want to judge that for myself." he smiled at Bisera. "I wanna experience it for myself."

Jerami Post 4 Giving a nod of his head Jerami said, "Yeah, maybe next time." Though he hoped that there wasn't a next time as far as sneaking out was concerned. Maybe the 'next time' would involve them leaving with permission which would make him feel a lot better about being out and about. He couldn't really think on that long though as he found himself pushed along from behind by his more energetic sister. He looked back over his shoulder at her, then forward again as they went in search of something to eat. Apparently they were supposed to be looking for what they thought looked the 'best' and he was quick to scan around. He glanced at the meat balls that Jhana was motioning to, giving a nod, "That does look good." He murmured, looking around for a moment, then went a bit wide eyed as he spotted a booth that seemed to be filled with sweets of various kinds, something that had him instantly pointing, "Ahh... should we try some of that stuff too? After we get a real meal at least." They should likely eat the meat balls first, then the sweets for dessert, right? Well, to be fair their parents weren't around so maybe they could eat the dessert while eating the other stuff? He turned his attention to his sisters to see what they thought.

Bisera -- Post 5 Bisera gave a bright smile and a nod of his head, "That sounds like a good way of thinking on it." He said, clapping his hands together. The idea that Xarnith was just saving his winning streak for when it counted was a optimistic way to think on the loss and it was one that he hoped that Xarnith would like too. His response was that it was a 'learning experience' so he hoped that meant he wouldn't be too beaten down by it. Giving him a smile he said, "I'd offer to help you train but... I don't think I'd be a good partner. We should see about getting you training partner! One who can help you to beef up!" Maybe one of the nice, muscular guys that were fighting today? Something that caused Bisera to smile a little. He was drawn from those thoughts to Vodyanoi as he clapped his hands together, the Water Tribesman's jewelry jingling in a manner that he found himself very much enjoying. He gave a happy sound, leaning forward, "Oh! That sounds so pretty!" He said, starring for a moment at the design of the jewelry as Vod explained what sort of music he did. Drums primarily but also singing and dancing, "That sounds fun." Turning to look at Xarnith he gave him a wide eyed looked, "Really? Music was seen as meaningless?" He was a bit surprised by that, "Surely not your Uncle?" Was he the one that saw music as such? Or was it another part of his family? Bisera knew that there were others but he hadn't heard a lot about them. It seemed that Xarnith's Uncle and little brother were the most important members of the family to him.

Shesha Post 5 He gave a glance to Aqio for a moment, lifting a hand so that he could wave it at him in a dismissive manner, "You can try your hardest, little fish." He just wouldn't believe it. He knew the way of the world, what people were really like, and knew full well that nobody did anything for nothing. He could say that it was platonic but it wasn't something that he really bought. Especially now that one of them was dressing Aqio up, styling his hair, and otherwise making him appear more primped and polished. "Hmm? Which training are you referring? If you mean the most recent one then I would say that it would be the magic training I am getting now that I've moved on from one patron to another." Something that still new enough to Shesha that it felt a bring strange but it wasn't bad. It was something that he knew would happen eventually after all. Glancing toward Aqio he thought a thoughtful sound, "Something too eat?" He seemed to be thinking on it. Losing his seat to go find food, it was... tempting he supposed. At the same time it risked him running into people that he didn't want to deal with. On the other hand though maybe he would run into interesting people? He gave a soft sigh as he glanced at Aqio once more and said, "Maybe in a moment. Are you in a rush to get somewhere, little fish?" He was a bit curious if he was supposed to be doing something today or if it was merely that the little fish was hungry.

Aylin, Post 1 Aylin walked through the stands after her battle with Ondine- she was still reeling at having won her first officiated battle. Biroki had been in the first round of battles too and she wondered how he had fared, and what her next opponent would be like.
The coming together of the people of Tendaji was both uplifting and overwhelming, she was dizzied by the range of colors, smells, and races around. With everything so new- even the amount of sun and an honest to goodness city- Aylin was quickly feeling overwhelmed and looked around for a familiar face, or at the very least a friendly one. Quote: Just looking for any kind of rp, I wasn't sure how to start while Aylin was in a battle- but I'd love to join in now! biggrin

Devra post Four Devra gave a smile when they both offered to pay for her to get something. Her eyes traveled to the stone from earlier and imagined showing it off to her neighbors at home. She knew they would be jealous. Bringing her attention back, she nodded. "I really like that stone..." She trailed off. She hated asking people who weren't her sister for help. Hence, the stealing. "But, you don't have to buy anything for me." She tried bringing the 'tough' act back but was already won over by the women.

Xilarn Post: 2"Much of the same," Xilarn assured, his red clay gaze flicking briefly to Damis as he made his approach, before shifting back to what little he could discern of the fighting below. "Particularly since my mood isn't dependent on whether I win or lose." It seemed unfair to be upset at any of these people that he didn't know with a level of skill he couldn't gauge in the event that they were better at non-lethal, tournament-style combat than he was. It was all just a big stage show for the crowd, and Xilarn had enough things to be offended about without adding another.
He accepted the offered snack without argument, pinched a bite from the whole, and popped it in his mouth. If he couldn't appreciate anything else about the event, at least there was some interesting diversity to be had on all fronts, and festival food was certainly more unique than his usual cuisine. "Thank you," Xil hummed with a slightly-more-agreeable-than-thirty-seconds-ago nod.
He plucked off a second bite and dropped it to his feet, where a clearly-brooding, disgruntled raptrix lay. Or under his feet, was probably more accurate. Gadot sniffed at the morsel, gave a disenchanted huff, and turned away, settling his nose to the packed clay beneath him once more.
Xilarn rolled his eyes and gave a consoling nudge of his boot between his mutt's shoulder blades, but couldn't actually bring himself to be overly concerned. He took another bread bite for himself and focused on Damis again. "You've been enjoying your day, I presume? Amassing a great sum of new little... acolytes to tend to the whims of your god?" He quirked his younger charge the smallest of grins. "Because if you were going to find support anywhere..." His gaze trailed out over the masses settled nearby, taking in the great range of skin tones from around the lands and the assortment of different class regalia. "I'm sure it would be here."

Saki Post 3He stood up and gave them a nod and smiled; "I'll be headed off.. nice to um.. meet you all. Tis my turn to go fight." Talking to so many new people had not calmed his nerves at all! Now he just had to calm his pounding heart and hope he didn't flub this battle... He nodded to his friend Alos who was coming off triumphantly from his win and headed into the ring... (ooc: he will not be rping in a large group XD Will bring him back in to rp with like one person. Not able to keep up with big groups atm ^^ wink
