Bifrost Knight of Chronos

"Enough!" said Bifrost, over the voices of everyone present, with enough projection to get to the back. Virgo left, Castor left, several others were contemplating leaving or distrusting Caedus, and she was sick of it. She placed herself between Caedus and the rest of the group, transcendence tattoos bright in the evening light. For good measure, Bifrost summoned her shield and dropped it heavily on the ground, ringing it like a gong.

"Did any of you ask for more information before trying to help the civilians kidnapped to the Surrounding? Did any of you stop to wonder, hmm perhaps we shouldn't go into the carnival to rescue people, it could be dangerous? No one asked if perhaps having so many people in one location - at any given time - wasn't a blaring signal fire for Chaos or a giant youma that ate a train." Lilac eyes glanced towards every single person, hard and almost reprimanding.

"Yet the minute you're given the option to try to take out the one thing that's been tormenting us for millennia, you sit here squabbling like a bunch of kindergardeners over crayons! We're going in blind, like we've always gone in blind. We have two purified knights who are attempting to give us a fighting chance and the lot of you would rather behead them then listen!

"If you want to stand out here, worried, go ahead. We know there's a chance it's a trap. We know its dangerous. I did not become Bifrost Knight by doing nothing. I became Bifrost Knight because I died to the very forces we're trying to destroy and came back from it.
" The knight raised her chin, hoisting her golden shield into her hand.

"So if you want to stand out here, because you're too scared to go into Negaspace, then fine. You stand out here and hold the line for whatever comes through. You make sure we get out of there alive. Otherwise, you can go home and live with the fact you've doomed us to fail." She took two giant breaths afterwards, her limbs vibrating with adrenaline. She would not stand for people to sit and squabble, when there were people going in and risking their lives. No. They wanted to stand out here and doubt, they damn well better be productive while they do so.

Aegir, Super Senshi of Silence

Thyrmr and Mont Blonc were so beautifully noble and keen to help; Aegir understood this part of his friends and teammates, but he also knew that now wasn’t the time. His heart swelled with pride for them, for everyone that stood on the hill talking to Caedus, trying to work towards the End Game. It was so clear, so very clear - they didn’t have the numbers, or the power, to take on such a great and terrible evil. Metallia. Castor walking off, pale faced at the mention of his brother, was another nail in the coffin of this ‘mission’…everything else aside, Castor was a prince. He had that flashy crystal of his and a helluva lot of power at his disposal. Aegir was pretty sure they’d want three or four royals there, to make certain that when they hit Metallia, it was for keeps.

To have none at all? Suicide.

He had been frowning, watching those around them discussing back and forth, when a distinct weight landed on his shoulder; if he hadn’t been used to such treatment, he might have reacted violently and harmed the Silver Lady. But Aegir was well used to the weight of the visor-wearing Mauvian on his shoulder, so although he startled a bit - not having expected her to be there - he was able to just give her a distracted little smile while she settled and rubbed at his cheek, returning the affection by bringing a hand up to cradle her soft head gently for a moment. “I’m so sorry Ash, if I’d known I would have come to get you.” The senshi of silence absolutely would have, too.

Quickly he filled Ash in, about Caedus and the portal to Metallia’s castle..about how the ‘man’ claimed they didn’t have to worry about masking their auras. A quick capsule of information that didn’t include the in-fighting but did include notes about the former Negaverse Officer’s information and his belief that going to fight Metallia with their current group was a suicide mission and not tactically wise. As he finished the lowly spoken retelling, the transcended knight that had come to stand near once before spoke up.

Aegir winced, but not because he felt ashamed for wanting to have a better chance of survival, no…he winced because Bifrost was throwing her weight around, her words around, as though violent taunting would get her anywhere with such a group of independent people. What is it with this crowd that promotes this sort of thing? I understood the other knight, he was military - or close enough - but that’s not what I get from her… The blond took exception to Bifrost’s tone and manner and gave her a sharp and disapproving look, fingers twitching at his sides as he fought to keep from putting them across his chest or on his hips in an aggressive stance. That won’t help either.

“The danger is not the same,” His voice carried clearly, projected as one with stage experience could manage, “You’re comparing skirmishes on half-neutral ground with storming the enemy’s castle. It’s a wholly different level of danger…and yes, I’m sure some of us did question and wonder about it. It’s stupid to not weigh your options, your chances of success in things like this. No one here wants to die, and we’re all willing to fight.” Aegir’s body fairly vibrated with energy, he the sort to rarely ever be still, even when sleeping. “Just not to die senselessly by walking half-blind into a massive battle with a multi-thousand year old evil that out-classes us power-wise. On it’s home turf.”

“That’s not cowardice, that’s being smart.” Here he hardened his expression, green eyes glancing down at the shield Bifrost had summoned. “Throw you shield around all you want, dive into a portal to the enemy stronghold without a viable plan and horrible odds, by all means. But I’d rather we all not die senselessly when we can plan for another day and actually have a chance at a win. Or just survival.” He bore no real animosity towards the Chronos knight, but he wasn’t going to allow anyone to shame those gathered for expressing a healthy respect for their own mortality and a wont to have a slightly less precarious position when heading into Metallia’s goddamned castle. I understand wanting action, but Jesus Christ…she wants us to walk blindly into the lion’s den. Look around! There’s not enough power here to take on the End Boss! Now was not the time. Surely a day or two to gather more forces would be acceptable to Caedus? But how to make her, to make them understand?

Without coming off like a d**k?

Impossible.

Aegir was never more grateful for his team, for the way they worked so well together and for the way they trusted him and he them, than at that very moment.

"Caedus," He addressed the cloaked figure directly for the first time, still not trusting him but wanting to - holding onto the hope that this was no wily trap, but a true thing, "Surely a delay to send out a call to arms would be acceptable? I believe you of all here should see that we are not nearly strong enough to take on Metallia at present."

Chara of Chocolate

There was so much going back and forth that ultimately, Chara was sick of it. It was all fussing and indecision and there was definitely no apparent leader among their ranks.

"This is why the Negaverse is doing so much better than we are! There's no ******** organization! Just a bunch of big headed idiots clashing over what's the best thing to do. The more powerful senshi don't want to fight, the weaker ones do, but who the hell do we listen to? And yeah, sure, we can all make our own goddamn decisions, but in the end, we're all going to get slaughtered without some sort of teamwork, I hate to say it!" Being so much weaker than many of the others here made him feel all sorts of off about this. Plus he had only been a senshi for a short amount of time. Sure, he had been there for that freaky-a** train monster thing, and managed to survive an assault from a general, but surviving wasn't the same as winning! Even with such a loud mouth and an obnoxiousness about him, he still had a lick of common sense at times.

"So sure, you say we should come back with a plan, but who the ******** is deciding what? There's the problem. Who leads, because for damn sure there never going to be a singular democracy among us."

Super Sailor Denebola

Denebola took her partner's words for that they meant, that Corvus understood and wanted her safe, that she would do just as much good continuing to remain at Celsus' side. Still, she worried with the lack of information about letting the senshi of vengeance go into the fray with how much information they were still lacking.

You should not give up everything for me, Celsus had said and immediately the woman was shaking her head. "I am not giving up anything to stand with you," she told him firm and insistent.

Everything else happened so fast, Virgo, who said she'd stand by Celsus, left and so did Castor and any faith or trust Denebola had been trying to have in Caedus and his plan crumbled.

"Corvus," she said insistently, head swiveling to look at the raven-haired woman. "You're not going in there, not anymore. My gut, our gut has been telling us that this is wrong, that it's a trap. I'm not stepping through that door and neither are you." People were leaving and the field was changing and there was no way in hell she'd let her partner follow Gevaudan into battle. He'd made it clear that his loyalties were still aligned with the other side.

Bifrost was talking and involuntarily, her grip on Celsus' hand tightened. What was wrong with all of these people? Aegir beat her to the punch, so she swallowed down most of her argument.

"He's right," she gestured to the senshi of silence, "all of those were different. This is a poorly planned attack everything else has been rescue or defending. And you can call us all cowards, but that doesn't make you any braver." She spoke just loud enough for her voice to carry to the knight and then she turned her attention to her companions, reaching for Corvus's hand. "I'm not leaving either of you and we're not going through that door."

Havasu Falls, Squire of Pluto

Once the whole issue with the prince had deflated Hav lost interest in the meeting. It was still going on and on and on and on and on.... it was worse then one of his father's board meetings. He thought they had been called here to fight not die from talking. He almost wished that Caedus would just open the gate and everyone just falls in. If it wasn't for the severity of the situation then he might have even suggested it but instead he kept his trap shut and focused on gathering around him.

Not so much the discussions but the people themselves. There was such a large variety. It still came as a surprise to him just how many order fighters there were in the city, and those gathered there that night were just a small fraction. And yet even with all their personnel strength order was still just holding on against chaos. Hav didn't know what kind of numbers the negaverse would be able to muster but it seemed like order outnumbered them two to one at the least, not factoring in youma, so why couldn't order as a group just squash any issues that arise. As raised voices once more floated out over the group Hav sighed, that was why.

"Hey Phact, why can't we seem to agree on some of the simplelist tactics?" He asked quietly in Phact's ear. The only one who really had any ideas as far as he could figure out, and before he spaced out, was the one knight from before. The one who was talking to Venice, Gevaudan he thought. The squire really needed to work on his people skills. It was on this thought that he spotted someone who was familiar, another squire. "Hey Delphi. Over here." He stuck his hand up and waved over at her, motioning her to head over if only to say hi.

Mlinzi, not so brightGuardian Cat

Mel was disappointed when the feathered guy wouldn't answer his questions but the cat's sadness was quickly forgotten when he got distracted yet again. This time by more people. He started to worm his way through the crowd, not really paying any attention to anything going on around him until he reached the edge of the group. At which point he finally remembered the request Kastra had made of him... to stay by her side. "Ooops." The cat winced and practically sprinted through the press of humans on his way back to the senshi.

When he finally reached her he sat down in front of her and contritely looked at his paws. "Sorry... But he really did have really neat feathers." The cat glanced up and smiled, "I won't wonder away again. Promise." Mlinzi would do his best to keep that promise but like trying to catch a butterfly barehanded, trying to get him to rigidly adhere to that promise is next to impossible.

Antares, Senshi of Scorpions

Antares looked at the eternal at her side and shrugged. It didn't really matter to her if they joined a bigger group. The teen had done her best to actually follow the arguments that were going on. First it had seemed like it was over actually killing or not, she would fight but not intentionally kill, then it was over the best way to proceed. And now some were actually leaving. This whole thing was just messed up. Antares rolled her eyes at the thought of the mass of people getting their s**t together to the point where they could all safely do the strike and make it back alive.

"At this point I think that one group is the best option." She agreed with his earlier assessment. "Even if we all go in at once being part of a smaller fighting force might mean there will be better backup." The jaded blond didn't really think so but she knew that she wouldn't be able to protect Chaldene all on her own in the depths of the negaverse.

Honestly, Phact could feel a headache growing at the side of her temple from all the back and forth. And half of it was saying the same cursed thing!

She had pulled Sabine away from it all after she quickly realized that two of the people who started the chaos were not going to back down. This was not the time to fight this. But others now felt different and she stood silent, not willing anything more to it.

It was Cetus' idea of dinner on her that made Phact break out of her trance and smile. Looking at the senshi in green, she nodded. "I think that's a fine idea. Though maybe order in so we can all just fall over on a couch or something."

But it was the senshi screaming about leadership that drew her back to the crowd. With a long sigh, Phact shook her head. How was it that so many were just now starting to see something she had known for years? Of course some where new and she did not fault them on that.

So, instead, she called out to those fighting over a 'leader' "It is clear to all of us one leader is not an option. We have purified knights that are clearly offering to help and a way in! We have also figured going in as one will be better than going in slowly. So...instead of trying to sit here and continue to disagree as a SINGLE unit, why not focus on what we do have!"

Her hands extended outwards. "Nearly every one of us here is not alone! We have small pairs, groups, teams if you will, that have developed over time built on trust and working together. If we cannot stand together as a single unit of White Moon Senshi and Knights, then at least we focus on those! We do NOT have time to sit here and figure out powers and abilities ad place people where they are. So, instead, I suggest we allow the two knights who offered to guide us take the front who know their way around and the teams take different areas. Each one focuses on a specific part so we do not cross over. If and when all hell breaks lose, that way all areas are covered."

She gazed around. "For those alone, I propose either calling someone NOW or making a new friend. No time like the present! There are many among us who will happily help out and extend an arm of friendship. Battles make brothers out of all of us. " She added with a simple smile.

It was then she backed down, giving Havasu a look that clearly said she was not happy with this as she turned to address her own team only.

"To you all, I ask for your help and trust. I do not believe that this can be worked out in a clear means. Which means I put my faith in all of you. Had everyone listened to Caedus, it would seem he is saying things are not as simple as storm the castle, win the day." Her eyes glanced at the capped man and then back to her group. "I do not believe we can be well prepared for this at all and we will need to dig deep into ourselves to find the strength to do this. None of you will stand alone. But should something come up, I ask that the senshi remain me with and Havasu will over see the knights. This is for the sake of experience. After this, I believe we will be able to sit once more and figure things out. But I trust Havasu's Strength to protect you. Her eyes looked over at Nirvana "I just ask should we indeed be separated, you keep him from doing anything too stupid."

"Once we are through, we regroup. We will decide what needs to be done quickly and move on. Do not let others affect your believes or your gut reaction. We may not stand as one large group but even small things can strike a large blow!"

Her hand reached up to Arthur who was clearly distracted. Pulling at an ear ever so softly, she smiled. "And you can play tom cat later."

Now, she took a deep breath and waited for two things to happen: the door to be opened, and someone to decide what she had said to the group was crazy and yell at her.

Caedus' eyes drifted to those who began to leave, but he closed them, drew in a breath, and shook his head. "A day or two to prepare may seem feasible for you, but it is not for me. I am fading. I cling to life with the hope that you will succeed, and that I will go home. But I promised that I would open this portal for you, and I have not the energy for both. I am sorry this is so sudden. But I do not know what tomorrow holds. If I delay this, I may not be able to fulfill my promise. I am sorry."

He sounded sincere, and he certainly looked as fragile as he said. But he was still nothing but mysteries beneath his tattered robes.

"But you will see," he assured the group that remained. "…And if you do not trust me, or if you do not trust each other, I understand. I bare no ill will towards those that do not wish to take upon this task. I am sorry I cannot join you. But I will do what I can from here. I do not fear an attack. I think they will be too distraught with yours to worry about me. I do not know who commands in the Negaverse, so I cannot warn you who to watch for. Trust those who have fallen from the Negaverse ranks, and trust those who have been around and know the enemy. They will guide you well in this fight. And, if you choose to fight, know it will strike fear into the Negaverse. They will know you are a force to be reckoned with. They will know that good will prevail. Even if you do not succeed in removing Metallia, the damage you strike will weaken them. Even if they try to rebuild, it will buy you time to strengthen, and plan. If the battle becomes too much, retreat. This portal will stay open for as long as I can hold it."

He looked to the crystals and closed his hand. His eyes flashed silver at the same time they did; a dark, swirling mist appeared, suddenly, the air seemed to tremble within the spiraling ring of crystals.

The passageway had been opened.

The strange, gaping hole rippled in the air before the group. It seemed unrealistic; light and shadow both seemed drawn to the spiraling gateway. Whatever lay beyond that portal was dark, and ominous, but there was a faint purple glow just in the distance. There was something there.

It had a pull about it, like a flame for a moth, and it seemed to radiate immeasurable evil. A low, pulsating hum of energy vibrated from it.

"One hour," he reminded, voice already sounding distant. "If you do not trust me, or truly do not wish to see battle, you may stay with me. I cannot guarantee I will be a good host. Maintaining this portal is tedious."

He glanced to the green crystal he held, displayed it to the group, and then threw it into the portal. It disappeared, as did the numbing sensation of the energy signatures on their radars. "…Go, if you will. The choice is yours."

Quote:
You may post an exit for your character! This thread will remain open for anyone who wishes to stay with Caedus, or late arrivals, but the rest of the group is now moving into Negaspace! You may either exit through the portal, stay with Caedus, or have your character leave! You will only have a limited time to get involved in the battle in Negaspace, so if you want to fight, you better head there as soon as possible!

Celsus Knight of Chronos

Virgo had...left?

He felt the weight of it all begin to sink down into him; the shock of her abrupt disappearance beginning to seep into Celsus's mind. For a moment, he just stood there, his expression stricken, eyes wide with the knowledge of what had just happened.

I'll remain with you, she had said.

You'll be fine. You won't be alone.

And yet she had disappeared, yet again, like before.

I won't disappear again.

His head was spinning violently, the nausea clogging in his throat. Whispers and taunts were sinking their way into his head, twisting every thought, and it did not help that there were others speaking now, loud and unhesitating in what they had to say.

And Bifrost was shouting.

So if you want to stand out here, because you're too scared to go into Negaspace, then fine.

You can go home and live with the fact you've doomed us to fail.

His mouth opened and closed, no words escaping. Shame was burning through him, fear, humiliation; the constant and ever present reminders of his inadequacy, voiced aloud by one of the Chronos knights. He knew he'd let them down already; knew that he'd become something of a joke to them, that his failures were, now, on display for all to see.

Everyone leaves you in the end.

Celsus was dimly aware that Denebola still had a firm grip on his hand, his own fingers limp in her grasp. He swayed unsteadily where he stood, feeling the sickness seeping through him like a poison, eating away at his veins.

You weren't meant for this life, anyway, whispered his thoughts.

See? They're all running away from you because you're not worth their time.

Celsus could not look at them, at any of them.

"I will stay out here," he murmured, and his voice was low, pained, as he spoke to Denebola and Corvus.

And then, in a much softer, more agonized voice, "I'm sorry."

Sailor Myrrha, Senshi of Scents

If there was one thing that Myrrha could not resist it would have been the thrill of the unknown. However glancing to the portal that now swirled enticingly open behind Caedus she had to wonder about her almost seemingly impulsive decision to walk towards the swirling mass of silver light. She wasn't going in quite yet it was more curiosity that brought her forth from where she had been standing next to Cassiopeia. Her gaze was narrowed in consternation as she took in the portal. This represented a great mystery and Myrrha loved the paranormal but it also represented an extreme level of danger.

Would she walk through to the other side or stay here? Myrrha paused with uncertainty. What was the right decision?

Even if he knew how Aegir felt about this --

Even if he didn't want to pull the people he cared about into danger --

Even if some part of him just knew everyone was right and this was a terrible, terrible idea.

It was also the only chance. And Caedus was risking so much to give it to them. He -- they --

Mont Blonc drew a deep breath, and spared his friends a wavering smile. It was so like him, to either overthink, or just do.

So he did. He nodded to Caedus once before stepping through, shaking like a leaf the whole way.

Gevaudan, knight of Ganymeade

The red-clad knight reached up to rub under his eyepatch, "They call the Nega verse the side of Chaos, but this side is the hot mess." Their people were shouting out, and he looked up to see those who were weak willed, unsure, and taking their own fears and interest in mind to leave.

It was the he saw Castor leave and he jolted and while he wanted to personally year te man apart, he wasn't stupid enough to know power when he saw it. Power the opposition needed and one mahout gun on their side wandering off.

Furious, he clenched his hands to his side, moving forward in an attempt to shout at the Prince....

They had a mission. They had a goal. They had a war to fight. Didn't that matter to anyone? Didn't the protection of this planet matter to them? What part of their own interest was worth it for them to leave? Whatever it was, it was going to be forever jeopardized by Metallia's whims. They should follow orders and put their own petty ideas -

He jolted to a stop and looked out.

Didn't he hear this once before? Hadn't Tanxanite -

No, this wasn't the same. He was working to HELP everyone. This wasn't for something just for him....it was for them. Just as much as it was for her -

....but she wasn't around? Who was it the for?

But, but he hasn't left from a fight ever. Yes. That was right. It wasn't the same.

He jerked around, pissed and serious as he moved past the bickering masses and towards the newly opened portal. If he was going in alone, so be it.

he left through the gate.

For once, Phact did not give her team much time to respond. As she did with making an example of the crystal, so too was she doing this now.

Taking a deep breath, she looked back at everyone and gave a wink. "Find me on the other side. I will be waiting."

She chose to go first. To give herself over for the sake of the others. So, reaching up to remove Arthur from her shoulders and hand him over to Sabine, Phact stepped forward. Following after the Gany Knight she would love to talk to, she slipped through the opened passage way and disappeared.

Sailor Lacrimosa

Lacrimosa had been silent the entire time, listening to everything she could though she'd handed over the crystal she'd taken when Caedus had asked for it. She didn't know if it would really be enough on her end but there was little she could do about it now.

This whole thing seemed... ludicrous. Dangerously ludicrous. There was no telling what truly awaited them or how much death could come about.

Already she could feel herself trying to flashback to the event that had lead to her quitting the first time.

Shaking her head, trying to clear the images, Lacrimosa was torn. She didn't wish to see that sort of blood shed again and yet... the best way to prevent that would be to stop it herself.

Her stomach dropped at the idea of killing, she would never dare take a life. But the thought of Metallia being less then human, a shadow of sorts, made it easier? Maybe?

All she knew was that she could not allow more deaths. She'd taken this role back up to prevent such a thing and how could she do that when she was sitting here cowering?

Gloved hands tightened and her resolve was set. It didn't matter if she lost her life in this as long as she could help prevent more loss of life. That was the important thing.

Brown eyes watched as Caedus opened the portal, shuddering at the feel it gave off but entranced by the way it opened up. She could feel her feet trying to move towards it when her body wanted nothing more then to run from it. Like a moth to a flame. How ironic.

With none of the newer senshi she'd adopted around there was nothing to hold her back, however. Nothing but her own fear and she wasn't going to let that win. Not when she could prevent trouble by taking action.

Glancing around to those around her one last time, not that it mattered entirely, Lacrimosa disappeared into the portal unsure of what she would find on the other side.

Arthur yelled at the ear tug and looked away before Phact addressed them and then handed him off. Panicking to see her go someplace the just felt like bad news, he looked to Sabine. "She can't go on alone." He said and looked at the portal before climbing up on her shoulders.

Chara of Chocolate

Blah Blah Blah. These people sure did know how to get thrown into a mess. All this arguing back and forth wasn't going to help s**t in the end, and Cadeus looked like he had made his ultimate decision to open up the portal.

It was very clear they only had options. Stay here and hang with Cadeus for funsies, head into the Negaverse like the warriors they were, or be ******** cowards and flee. Chara wasn't having any of that running away s**t today, no. He'd go through the portal, he'd find a team to stick with, and he'd defend them, himself, and any other person he happened to come across who needed it.

"Gotcha. Thanks for the help, Cadeus, I'm sure it won't go too terribly. And hey, if something goes terribly wrong, then these shitheads can go 'see, I told you so!' without consequence!" One last grin was given to the creepy ol' space man, and off he went into the great unknown that was The Rift.
