Wyatt enters the pod room and can feel the barrier of protection that has been guarding. Sitting against the wall are hunters, their expressions varying between peaceful and intense concentration as they feel their own strength and that of their weapons into the shield. It's growing steadily weaker, but the pod room remains untouched.

Standing at the center of the room is another hunter, their weapon, a massive spear, is summoned and glowing harshly with a charge. He glances up at Wyatt and then moves, toward the hunters creating the barrier.

A sense of power and purpose fills Wyatt as black crystals form along his shotgun. When he fires, the attack is strange and different, but it feels right. It feels just.

The pull of it had already begun, the barest trickle of memory and vibrant humanity slipping from the clone and to their rightful owner.

Molly would find the cave secure and of a good size, unaffected by the disaster. Blue crystals outcroppings glowed faintly around its edges.

The doctor remained silent as he worked, concentrating on the glowing symbols that formed beneath his fingertips until finally he was straightening to intone a sound that broke into the air, shattering into a dozen eldritch syllables that slammed into the runes below. Marie, always hungry, absorbed these and grew.

And grew.

It is common knowledge that the divisional leaders are capable of using their weapons to create temporary portals. Usually just the size of one or two hunters to get through, they were convenient if sometimes unstable or simply dangerous in the hands of those both powerful and capricious.

Marie grew, beyond the confines of the room, a translucent ring of scales and blades that slipped quietly through walls and debris, hardly noticeable in the chaos and destruction. Marie grew, until she held all of the life build in her sinuous coil and then....

She opened.

One moment, the upper stories of the life building was threatening to fall and crush those in the basements and then, then it was surrounded by a field weeds, the dorms and main headquarters made tiny with distance. The upper half of the Life Building had been moved to the empty fields.

Where the Life Building had once stood remained the thirteen basements, still dangerous, but no longer threatened quite so much by the building above. There would be hours left to work on retrieving the survivors, days left to find all the dead, and months worth of work to clean up and rebuild the building that had marked over a thousand years of progress.

Nothing lasts forever, especially not on island perpetually threatened by both its purpose and the powers it tries to harness in that pursuit. Nothing is safe for Hunters, not really, but there is something to be said for the support of those they fight beside and what they fight for.

Quote:

The Life labs are now in two pieces:
- the above ground floors are in the abandoned corn fields
- the 13 basement floors remained where they were

The buffs from both Merlin and Excalibur are gone by the time the separation occurs. Feel free to continue rping after this point, however no more special buffs will be given. Also feel free to rp any rando hunters, please don't post quote me for this, I trust you to play it out believably.

Aftermath

Those who chose protection will find a sliver of blue crystal embedded somewhere on their body. It will need to be removed (or simply fall out after a day or so) but will remain a tangible sign of their choice.

Those who chose revenge will find a similar crystal, but this will shatter upon discovery. They will dream about their choice for weeks to come, and in the days immediately following this rp, will find themselves more spiteful, more easily angered and entitled. Some may, if you choose, find themselves drawn to room B69 in the basement.

Quote:
b69: A strangely large room, the shaped structure of the other rooms is not found here, instead it appears to be an actual cave. In the distance you notice a throne sitting upon a dais, closer inspection reveals that it's made of bones. You feel drawn to sit on it with a growing need that becomes a compulsion. As you see yourself, a dark whisper touches your mind, silencing your weapon. You find yourself triumphant on top of a writhing sea of dying mortal bodies. Moments later you find yourself outside the room. You do not remember what was inside it. For a week, you have strange nightmares that you cannot recall.

There's work to do
(feel free to contact me if there's any plot proposals you'd like to make regarding these, but keep in mind that if they require gming, it will have to be the very light sort.)

Life hunters will first be busy tending to the wounded, then salvaging and projects and equipment they can from the upper floors and basement levels. It is up to you how much of their work is lost. Underneath the fields is the old lab building, it is smaller and only reachable via portal at the moment. Fixing the building up and getting its equipment in working order will be the next priority for Lifers.

Moon hunters will be focused on tending to the wounded, then cleaning up the wreckage. They'll need to salvage as much materials as they can manage for reconstruction.

Quote:
Infirmary status: immediately after the infirmary will be out in the open fields. For the forseeable future, the infirmary will be in a series of tents until a more permanent structure is decided on

Sun hunters will need to double up on field work as well as try to take extra cautions, as many Moon hunters will busy at the island rather than out on the field.

Death hunters will find themselves with a list of various hunters who proved to be aligned with Merlin during the attacks. Questioning captured hunters and researching the history and contacts of those that were killed or escaped will be on their agenda, as well as increased field work due to more Lifers being caught up in the reconstruction.

Mist hunters will find themselves in greater demand to fill in the gaps left by each division. Many may end up doing more work well outside their comfort zone and usual training preferences.

Basement lab-ish. WE R LEAVNG PEY. DEAL WITH IT *shades*

Okay. So Peyton had black eyes. Like, not the "I just got in a fist-fight" or "I slept in too much mascara" black eyes, but more like the "I'm the lead demon in a horror-flick" and "I'm going to ******** eat your soul" black eyes. Andy was trying to ignore this fact, among so many others, in favor of carting his senpai out.

Andy. Drop her! Bad! So very bad, not good Andy! Put Pey-ton dowwwwn Rex's plea ended in a long, mournful and brain-splitting howl that made him falter over a pile of rubble.

As did the command she gave him. "Pey, I will. I promise, but right now we've got to get out of here and I like you too much to leave you." Briefly he contemplated setting her down to pick her up in a bridal carry, rather than the fireman style he was using now, but the thought of looking at her face with those hellish black eyes...nope. Not until he could get her to someone that might know what the frickity to do about them.

Thank heavens she was light, or he might have had some issues hauling her up the stairs and out of the basement; he certainly didn't trust that she'd come with him if he set her down though. She's acting so weird...and those eyes. I know Rex, something's definitely wrong with Pey...it's gonna be okay. Just hang in there and have my six, mutt.

A few steps in he felt a heavy sensation and had to stop; Rex was shouting warning bells and his chest was heavy as hell, like when he was a kid and a big storm had been about to break. Andy set Peyton down but didn't release her, in fact he hunkered down and pulled her into his arms with him; Warrick's blades making it tricky to do so. The whole building was going to collapse...and then it wasn't - fresh air came whooshing down the now unenclosed stairs and Andy could look up at the sky over the island, could once more hear the myriad sounds of hunters scrabbling to help over the sound of his own beating heart.

But where did the rest of the building go?

Basement level 1 stairs --> First floor

Things that should have been registering weren't, not as they should. She saw it now clearly, the dark sparkle along the lengths of the blades still in her hands. She stared down at them as Andy carried her, intrigued, but not nearly as concerned as she should be, at least at first. Worry started to creep in around the edges as they reached the stairs, anxiety forcing its way past the artificial calm of Merlin's influence, until finally she was reaching out to the demon in her mind, inquiringly.

Then there was a great rumbling, the sense of impending something. The dainty Sun desummoned, startled, as Andy swung her down off his shoulder and set her back on her feet. She swayed very slightly--vertigo combined with a ceiling falling on her, combined as well with the loss of Merlin's presence--but the trainee drew her in against him, arms tight around her shoulders.

Now she was tired, felt the aches and pains of having had the floor above her head crash down twenty feet on top of her. There were bruises rising on her, a particularly painful on forming under her bangs on the left side. Peyton had been through worst, but she knew she'd be sore come morning. And the dreams...she didn't even want to think about it. The image of the clone's head sliding off it's shoulders was too fresh in her mind. The way it'd bounced, the sound it'd made when it'd hit the floor

She shivered, sinking into the comforting weight of Andy's arms seconds before the creaking floors above them suddenly vanished. She looked up as he did, just as confused, eyes once again their usual pale lavender, and brows furrowed. "What the hell?"

Frowning, she gave his arm a soft pat, a silent request he let her go. "Come on, let's get out of here." If a little worn, at least she sounded more normal. Her sister was slipping back to mind. The startled look on the smaller girl's face as the floor crumbled beneath her feet. She had to find her, at the very least confirm she was alright.

Slipping from the trainee's arms, she drew her phone out of her pocket, miraculously unharmed, and fired off a text to the younger Creedy.

As it turned out, it didn't take long for the text to get answered--not with a buzz of Peyton's phone but by a sudden shriek not far off.

Having gone and frantically sought help once Peyton disappeared through the floor and then finding herself wrangled into helping with an evacuation, Astrid had regained her freedom in just enough time to get into the upper levels of the basements looking for her sister as the floors above were suddenly and with a strange kind of fanfare whisked away.

She hadn't even had time to check the alert in her pocket. With a little scream she threw herself at full speed towards Peyton, her arms thrown around her sister's neck, and she was all abrupt tears and heedless of any injuries the elder Creedy might have, and then, very suddenly, she commenced angrily pounding on Peyton's chest with her fists.

"You jerk. You jerk! I told you. You JERK. You almost died."

She hadn't made it more than two steps up when she heard the shriek. There was just time enough to tighten her grip on her phone before the tiny form of her sister all out tackled her and sent them both crashing the ground on the now strangely open ground floor of what had once been the Life labs. When she it the thing went skittering across the floor, but she didn't have time, nor want to worry about it just then.

It felt like the ceiling had fallen on her all over again, every ache and pain throbbing with the impact and rough landing, but she wrapped her arms around Astrid anyways, wincing. She was powerless in the face of those tears, utterly defenseless, and she would do anything to stop them. I this case, a soft series as soothing sounds, the brush of nails against Astrid's scalp near the nape of her neck, and the tight weight of her other arm around her waist.

Then the smaller girl was rising up, and pounding on her battered chest. Peyton gasped, groaned, and made to grab for scrawny wrists. "Jesus Christ, stop it!" When she caught them she held on, employing superior strength to insure she take no further damage. Poor Andy, having to bare witness.

"No I told you!" Was Peyton's stubborn, worry-fueled angry response. "I Told you to get out of there, it wasn't safe. That could have been you!" And then what? Astrid would have been faced with Taym's clone, trapped beneath the rubble.

"Yes! You told me and then you ran right after me, you jerk."

And then, very suddenly, her angry tears gave way to actual full childish sobbing, through which she barely managed, with many hiccups: "Sorry I--I hit you."

"Yes I did, because I'm sturdier than you are! It's gunna take more to-"

She stopped as the smaller girl's anger suddenly drained away and she was left with a sobbing sister sitting on her stomach. "Hey, hey." The grip on Astrid's wrists loosened, and Peyton sat up abruptly, again wincing, to pull her sister into a tight hug, "It's okay. I'm okay." A little beat up, a little bruised, but considerably less hurt than she usually got when things went wrong on the island. "We're okay." She kept murmuring it into Astrid's hair, stroking a hand through the shirt curls as she rocked them both gently.

Wyatt wasn't exactly ready for any of this. He had been a trainee for quite some time, but an avoidant one, and this was nothing like no challenge he had ever faced before. The pod room was dark as he spotted another hunter with a glowing spear. Wyatt aimed his shotgun out of caution when black crystals started forming around his shotgun.

"Aw, s**t, what the...," he started aloud.

<< What is happening? >>

He had no clue, but he felt overcome with a new energy. Instead of feeling so lost in this chaos, he felt in control. He felt empowered for the first time in a long time. He let out a blast - he missed, hardly aimed as he was more fixated at by the changing weapon than he was by his target.

The blast was different. It was glorious. The normal bang didn't sound so explosive to his ears, but soothing. The abnormality felt even more correct than the usual. Everything was strange. No, everything was finally right.

In the corner of his eye, the hunter was spotted charging towards those who were protecting the room. s**t. He couldn't let anything happen to them. He charged forward around the pods, trying to get a clear shot. He dove forward and rolled, dropping onto his knee as he leaned one eye on the barrel to get a clear shot. Raising his head, he fired, missing the other hunter by inches, but getting his attention.

The hunter charged towards Wyatt with the spear at the ready, as Wyatt fired again. Each shot gave him more passion for the battle. He was fully in the moment as the hunter leapt, the blade of the spear ready to crash down onto ********!" he shouted as he whipped his shotgun forward as an extension of himself to club his opponent. They smacked into each other, the spear slicing against Wyatt's tricep as his shotgun hit the hunter in the hip, knocking him from his aerial leap. They both faltered to the ground, Wyatt supporting himself with a weakened arm dripping in blood.

<< You have this. Get up. End this. Do it. >>

For once, he and Siv were in sync. They both were invigorated by this new power. Still on the floor, weakened but not yet defeated, he stretched out his healthy arm and pointed his weapon to the hunter and fired three blasts: MISS. MISS. HIT.

The final blast hit the other hunter in the chest, rendering him down. Wyatt used all of his might, all of the power that these new crystals had invigorated him with to rise to his feet and point the gun down at his target and fired three more blasts into the ******** chest. The bonus shots may easily be seen as unnecessary brutality, but each shot felt more and more justified. His desire for revenge was on fire.

He felt a surge of power overwhelm him, but his injured arm was rendering him too weak to continue. He moved towards the other hunters, his allies protecting the pods, using his gun as a walking cane and leaving a small trail of blood in his wake. He nodded to them as they continued to uphold the area, no longer needing his support. He moved onwards back into the fray, exiting to examine the mass chaos outside. The Life building was in complete shambles as he fell to his knees in the field out front of its remains.

The feeling of justification and power was slowly beginning to fade as he succumbed to the fact that he truly needed help. He felt like he was losing a lot of blood. He knew there was chaos and injured parties everywhere, and he was likely a minor injury in comparison. And with the infirmaries surely destroyed and out of use for the foreseeable future, he wondered if he would get the help he needed. But he needed help by any means. He shouted up to the air and fired his gun once, twice, three times in loud consecutive bursts to gain any attention he could as he fell backwards, staring up into the cold sky, growing darker and darker as his vision started to fade to black...

She didn't choose, she wasn't chosen either. "Somewhere. I would belong to somewhere." Eyes free of emotion, after the incident, she purposelessly followed the order of whoever found her.

She looked at the phone that didn't have any incoming messages, never mind, she would find her reason and place of living. This life that didn't belong to hers was a present from her sisters. As long as it was still beating lively, she had to try. She couldn't live for herself, so she had chosen to live for others.

Yet, it was a strong struggle. She didn't feel she belong to anywhere.

The 'reunion' of siblings was kind of awkward to be part of - er, party to? Party adjacent, more like. So he did what any over-grown man-child would do and hunched his shoulders with his hands deep in his pockets while Peyton and her sister went back and forth. Like Jordy and me, only with more tears and...God only knows. This's good though, 'cause maybe Pey'll go back to normal. Have her eyes gone right? Can't tell from here...

"Excuse me ladies, I should...er, should I--" Andy mumbled and gestured a bit with hands that suddenly seemed - to him - too large and awkward to deal with. "Glad yer okay too." He spoke to Astrid but was peering at Peyton, trying to see if her eyes were still all black and freaky like before. "Should um, probably get checked out by a medic. Both of you."

Astrid continued to cry, sobbing into her shoulder, and Peyton tucked her legs up against the smaller girl's back, holding her tight as she moved her head to look up at Andy as he looked down at them, clearly uncomfortable. Or perhaps simply unsure of what to do with himself. He would, however, find relief in that her eyes had indeed bled back to their usual pale lilac. The look she gave him was half searching, half apology, and half just tired.

"It's okay baby," she murmured beside Astrid's ear, head turning just enough to lay a soft kiss against golden curls. Then she was pushing to her feet, carefully setting the Life trainee on her feet before turning and pulling the girl up on her back. It would be easier this way, it always had been, and she knew her sister was likely to be a second shadow for the remainder of the day. There was a slight wobble, evidence that she had taken a bit of a beating, but after a second she got her balance.

Clasping her wrists under Astrid's thighs, she looked up at Andy again. "Sorry, mind leading the way to the med tent?" It was a practical request. He was taller, he'd be able to see further. It was also personal. Even if she still didn't quite know what to do with him, a part of her wanted to keep him close.

The relief he felt at Peyton having her normal eyes - lovely eyes, beautiful eyes, normal freaking eyes - was immense and had him letting out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding when she'd tilted her head up at him. She was looking for something in the trainee, but all he could do was give her a weak smile and push a hand through his hair to tug at it.

Andy watched the sibling pair gain their footing, watched Peyton giving Astrid a piggyback, and said nothing. He might have offered himself as pack-mule, but knowing how he would have felt if it had been Jordan kept him quiet.

"No need for sorry, I'm happy to do it." Clearly he was happy to have a known purpose, to have something he could do to help, as much of his awkwardness seemed to dissipate. The rangy blond straightened and looked around a bit, noticing there were several others carting wounded off in one direction, though he couldn't see a med tent from where they stood. "C'mon, we'll be there in no time."

By the time she'd been spotted, Abbi had passed out again. She comes to at the word 's**t', and mistakes it for concern rather than an insult. Flattered to have garnered such attention she rustles herself awake and--
"You're not Scout." This was... The exact opposite of Scout.

For a long moment Abbi frowned up at Cameron, trying to decide what to do. She was too hurt to run, she couldn't tell him to leave because of that too hurt thing, and... And something else but she was in a lot of pain so it could wait.
"Um... I think something exploded." A pause. "Not the building, I know about that, I was inside that... Something else." That would have to do for now. Right now she needed help, and to get someplace she could get patched up. Hopefully Cameron understood that, which she figured he did given he'd come to find her after her mistakenly sent out S.O.S.
The teen heaved a sigh, regretted it immediately, and pushed herself into a sitting position again.
"I'm real woozy-- Is my bag around here? Bunny ears... Purple... Or black... I dun remember." With her free hand Abbi made a grabbing motion to the surrounding area. "I think I have to stitch myself up." Since the Infirmary was probably no longer actually a place.

She'd never stitched herself up before, that would be... Interesting.
"Is my hair still intact? I think part of it burned off..." Most of her clothing was singed, she was a bit red in places though overall alright, but her hair felt crunchy and she was getting worried.
Abbi paused, sat there for a long time, a bit dazed and spacing, before she tried to scramble to her feet.
"Oh my glob, are you ok-- Are you hurt-- Were you in the explosion or the building-- You're not injured?-- Wait I'm--" A little squeak left her before Abbi crumbled back down on the ground. Nah, moving like that hurt way, way too much. She would just... Lie here and hopefully not die or anything.

There was also the matter of the Sun being far too stubborn for her own damn good. So long as she was able to walk, the task of carrying her sister would be her's alone.

A twitch of a smile as Andy dismissed her apology, and she fell into step beside him, following the flow of the sparse crowd. Wordless as she concentrated on keeping her feet beneath her, on Astrid's slowing sobs, and the collective thoughts running through her head. The fear of losing her sister, the clone, the crystals. All of it, circling restlessly. She didn't speak again until they had reached the tent and she had to tell the Moon that hurried up to them that it was her that was injured, not the smaller blonde, and what had happened.

Bumps, bruises, and superficial scraps were all the Sun had sustained. All the same they'd kept her there for an hour. Long enough for Astrid to fall sleep with her head on Peyton's lap. She'd expected Andy to excuse himself at some point, but the tall trainee remained. When she was released, finally, she looked up at him. "Can you give me a hand?" Now she felt it, the deep ache of having had a ceiling crash down on her. The adrenaline was gone, the other influence was gone, there was nothing left to stand between her and what she was sure would be at least a few days of hurting.

They just had to get back to the dorms, the she could crawl between the sheets and sleep.

Eventually, by no small miracle, Lex and Leslie (plus their comatose charge) made it out of the rubble of what was once the infirmary, just in time to see the entire ******** Life building be transported from the waist up.

Lex definitely mouthed a 'what the ********' and dropped his support for the patient in what would have made for a great gag in some shitty sitcom.

Claudia's voice eventually carried him out of whatever temporary shock he'd been in, and Lex left Leslie with a quick nod of acknowledgment and a brief smile - a broken smile, but something more genuine than he'd given the youth before.

"Claudia!" He called out as he ran toward the girl, practically tripping over stone and wood, until he finally was close enough to embrace her in what, for her, would be a familiar bear hug. "You're safe."
