Once upon a time, the starters you had here weren't found easily in the wild. They compare more to fossil pokemon you reckon? I digress though, I'm curious to obtain a Charmander if you've got one available." He was sure you could find them in the wild now but he wasn't sure yet.

Umbra hopped off the train and planted her feet for the first time in a couple of hours and gave her poor, stiff back a good stretch. Good lord, as much as she loved train rides their length of travel time was always murder on her back. With a series of popping and gentle grunting her back once more back into a semi-straight line and Umbra released her two pokemon from their dome prisons. "Alright you two, I'm going to need your help picking a partner from the professor. The three of you will be working together so getting along will be paramount." Umbra started to walk towards the professors lab and took in the quaint little town that nested her destination within its embrace. It was a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city that she was used to in the best possible way. There was a bit of a giddiness that was bubbling up inside of her as she thought of starting her journey. Alchemy - her serious and confident Absol - trotted alongside of her in a rather protective manner as Undine - her shy though elegant Vaporeon - flowed on the other side of her. Undine was taking much more interest in her surroundings than her dark typed counter-part and even stopped a couple of times to investigate odd smells and new things. Umbra didn't mind the slow down, and thankfully Alchemy didn't seem too put off with it either though he certainly remained aloof from the current environment they found themselves in. It took a little while longer to reach the professors lab, a rather impressive looking building that Umbra took in for a few moments before reaching for the handles of the door. Was it nervousness that brought the hesitation or was it simply an excitement of getting a fabled starter for herself? Maybe it was the thought of finding that certain pokemon and turning back to her former self that brought this rapid heart rate smashing against her chest. Umbra had to take a moment and compose herself, she refused to let the professor see her in such a state and she wouldn't let herself come off as so undignified in front of someone so prestigious. Once she calmed herself down she opened the door and passed through with stride of purpose and an expression of stern resolve. She must have been a strange sight indeed to a couple of the assistants to the professor, regal and dignified and with hardly a bob to her movements she strode forwards and announced her intent with a gentle commanding tone. "My name is Umbra and I have come for a starter pokemon, is the Professor around, perhaps?" Umbra flipped a lock of her hair back over her shoulder and softly crossed her arms in front of her. Alchemy stood ever vigilant next to his master and Undine got more comfortable and took a seat at the other side of her human.

”Indeed he is!” Popping his head out first, Oak waved at the young woman from his office before stepping out. ”You’ll have to forgive me for not greeting you sooner, Miss Umbra, but it’s a pleasure to meet you!” A smile accompanied his pleasantries before the professor cleared his throat. ”Now, which starter were you interested in?”
"The pleasure is all mine, Professor and don't worry about the immediate absence. I know that you're a very busy man." Umbra's face immediately turned towards the sound of the unfamiliar voice that announced the arrival of the good Professor, she gave a respectful bow of her head before answering. He seemed like he was rather busy and judging from the organized chaos of the lab he was probably being pulled away from something rather important by her intrusion. The original plan was to have her two pokemon companions help her chose but perhaps it would be best if she picked the starter herself and just hoped that they got along. She didn't want to waste too much of the professors time after all. "I think I'm feeling a little on the spicy side today so I will pick the fire type pokemon, Charmander, if you happen to have one at hand." If he happened to be out of the fire type then she would go for a bulbasaur, as much as she loved the Squirtle line she already had a water type and didn't really need another one. "Sorry you two, I know that plan was to have the two of you help pick the starter but the Professor does look rather busy, I'd hate to inconvinence him any further than I already am." She hoped that the other two types would find some good trainers as the one that came with her would be put through his proper paces. She had a legendary to capture after all. "Ah, and one more thing, a long shot question for you: You wouldn't happen to know where I would be able to locate a pokemon named Jirachi, would you professor?" Thankful for the young lady’s understanding, Professor Oak was more than happy to hand over a Charmander to her. He nodded to a nearby assistant, rallying them to gather the requested starter for her while he handled the rest. ”Of course, we’ll get that Charmander to you right away,” he responded, though already his attention had slipped away to the clutter on a desk to his left. Hastily sweeping away the pencils and random papers, Oak proudly presented Umbra with the parcel that lie beneath. ”Just a few starter items for you,” he explained quickly. He looked up when the assistant returned, pokeball in hand, and let them make the exchange while he considered Umbra’s question. ”Jirachi?” he cupped his cheek. ”If I’m not mistaken then that’s one of Horn’s legendaries, isn’t it? I’m afraid I don’t know too much about that one. You’d be better off asking Professor Birch, my dear.”
Once she was all settled, pokemon and parcel in hand, the Professor gave another wave. ”I believe that’s everything! Do come back if you need any more assistance, or have any questions about Kanto legendaries,” he encouraged, bemused.

So, Professor Birch was the one to talk to about the Legendary that she was currently hunting? That was just as good a lead as any, and she was going to need all the help that she could possibly get if she was going to turn herself back to normal. She gathered the items that the professor graciously gave to her in order to start off her adventure as well as the pokemon that she requested. "Thank you very much Professor, for the information, the Pokemon and the items to start me on my journey. I'll be sure to follow up with Professor Birch as soon as possible regarding the subject." Umbra gave a polite bow and exited from the building, hopefully not overstaying her welcome in the meantime. As much as she was grateful for the information, however, she wasn't sure if her back was ready to climb back onto the train so soon. That and she was hoping to do a little training in the process as well. If she was going to capture a legendary, she was going to need to get her pokemon ready for such a strong encounter. Sadly, Umbra didn't really seem to have a solid plan at this time and so she was opting to play it by ear for a while. Maybe it would be worthwhile to ask some of the trainers around her if they had seen the legendary too.
