The next one she bounded quickly through, wondering if anyone had actually bothered to trap that one. It was almost too easy. She paused in the slim hall between rooms to catch her breath, glancing back the way she came before looking on ahead. The room seemed so narrow and that threatened to make it all the more dangerous... But she had already made it this far. She was two for three and this was it. Swallowing hard she took one more breath, releasing it slowly before nodding. "Alright... Let's go." It took her longer than she had initially anticipated, but upon reaching the other side unscathed she turned, placing her thumb to her nose and wriggling her fingers as she stuck her tongue out at the voice who had doubted her. "Made it through just fine, thanks." Alright, this quest again. Uttam could handle this quest, he thought. He'd belted up his cloak to well above his ankles, stretched his legs before going in, and had even started to chant his name mentally. He could do this. He had to do this. He would make it out of this Jack damned room without a hitch this time, and would NOT be seeing any more ******** dinosaurs.
Hissssssss.
He began his sprint, muttering "no more dinos, please Jack, no more."

There were still plenty of rooms to explore on the most intriguing wing of the White Queen's castle, and Mimsy was still eager to explore them, despite the fact that she consistently left this place covered in countless blue freckles. They looked like a scattered set of constellations, she thought, so she was not especially deterred. She crept as cautiously as she could through the hallway, her stripes fading in and out of vision as she attempted to be stealthy. It worked at a level of 50% effectiveness, as was obvious by simply looking at her. The humid, filthy patches of dark, untended corridor remained a comfort, though a more sensible person might have found it alarming. The smile on her face widened as the light faded in the hallway, and she trailed her fingers along the wall, grime collecting beneath her nails. The first room that Mimsy chose to enter was fairly empty, with just one framed picture on an otherwise empty wall. It was covered in mildew and filth, and was completely unrecognizable. She didn't try to uncover it - she thought that it would be cruel to do so, if it was trying to hide. The next room was no more intriguing, really: just a set of chairs, each missing one leg, and a damp carpet that made light squishing noises beneath her feet. Oh, something interesting, finally! There was something embedded into the wall here. Mimsy had clearly not learned her lesson thus far, so she reached out and tried to remove it. And she was covered in freckles again. And had also been expelled into the hallway. When the freckles from her previous visit began to fade, Mimsy decided that another attempt to discover the castle's secret might be in order. She was learning each time, she assured herself, and would certainly be able to find something absolutely fascinating, if she just persisted in her diligent methods of exploration and observation. There was always a reward at the end, if she just tried hard enough. Her hands were filthy again by the time she reached for that first doorknob, her fingers damp with the slimy film of disuse. It made opening the door a bit difficult, but she managed, and slowly peeked inside. It looked like it might have been a library once, but it was empty now, just walls of inset shelving. She passed through without fussing over it, in an effort to make the best use of her time. The second room had been tiled with a lovely mosaic once, but it was broken, disjointed, and covered in the same dirt and grime that coated everything else in this wing of the castle. Mimsy examined the floor for a while, in an attempt to make out what the mosaic had once been, but the image was completely unrecognizable. Disappointing, but there had to be something wonderful in here for her to find! And just as she had theorized, all of her dedication finally paid off! The next room Mimsy entered contained a hidden treasure, and it was all hers to open, and she could claim its discovery. Fantastic! She opened the treasure chest, and happily took all of the rewards, pleased with what she'd found here. Halfway through the first room, it exploded, hurling her out into the corridor. When she finally found the strength to stand again, she groaned, pushing her jet black hair back-
Wait. JET BLACK?!
She wailed, holding up her twintails in her hands as she stared in mild horror; they looked like two dead eels that had been attached to her head. To make matters worse, one side of her bangs - once neatly and obediently tucked to the side because of game physics magic - now insisted on covering half her face; it got into her eye, making things generally uncomfortable and inconvenient for her. Although she knew that these "exploding room"changes were temporary, she mourned the loss of her beautiful pink locks.
Never again would she take them for granted.
