Antiope assessed those that stepped forward with a nod. Good, not everyone was without experience. She knew that most of the healers were moving out with the battlers, assisting in the fighting and on site healing. It was good. It was also good to have the group she was leading in reserve. She knew that there would be many that would be looking to them for aid.

"Alright, those who feel like they have enough experience to lead", She made sure to emphasis the difference, knowing that many who have experience might not have enough to help, "follow me to the tent behind me, the rest, wait for the next round of orders." She finished squeaking out. There were plenty who had come forward with experience, so there should still be plenty to pick from, at least in Antiope's mind that should be how it worked.

----------------

Yansa nodded to Jerarda, understanding her concern. "We cannot gather our strength for our enemies to the north if we are being attacked from the south. This King will not listen, will not be reasonable." She left it at that, wanting to say more, but knowing it was not the time.

Before she could point Jerarda to a spot, Enki was running through the forest and announcing the time to leave.

----------------

The group had all had their introductions and Enki ended the discussion by holding up his hand, palm down as if to say lower the volume. He smirked to the others, "Keep your enemies closer, right? There was a reason why we chose this location to set up camp."

He quietly slipped further from the camp and into the forest, leading the three closer to the enemy base. After the two miles of walking, Enki stopped abruptly and dipped into the cover of the treetop above without a sound, motioning for the others to follow. They had to be absolutely quiet if this scouting mission were to work. Enki parted the boughs of a branch and out from behind and massive army of tents, animals, and men could be seen from what seemed to be only a throw of rocks away.

Enki motioned with his hands to move quietly closer to their camp, slinking through the trees. After a few minutes of watching, what they saw wasn't good news. The camp was packing up and beginning to move for war. The ranks were lining up and they were heading to move out.

Enki motioned for the others to quickly move from their positions and to retreat back into the forest, waiting until they were a safe distance behind before speaking in a hushed whisper. "The time is now. They're moving out. Follow me." Enki ordered before rushing back through the forest the two miles back to camp.

As him and his small group entered the encampment, Enki continued to run until he was in the front of the crowd. "It's time to move! Now!" He barked out. He looked to the other elders, nodding his head before announcing "Close range: follow me! We're heading to war."

----------------

Before the other leaders had had a chance to sort the remainder of the fighters into position, Enki was already emerging from the forest, announcing the beginning of the end of rest. "Alright everyone! Move out! Here we go. Put as much room between us and the camp as we can." Freya called out with a wave of her arm. The leaders began to trot outward, warming themselves with a jog.

Post 6 for all
a pet dino
sorry, I posted again before you could!

Rayolun:
The reason did make some sense. Though it was a bit risky. He slunk about the trees about teh enemy encampment. Trying to get a count on the numbers, see if there were any magic users, or uniforms to mark leaders. If they could kill the leaders the rank and file would be worse off and easier to defeat.

At Enki's motion, he rejoined the group and ran back along the road made by tree branches, still moving silently and carefully. At least there should be no wild beasts to worry about, they were smart enough to vacate when large groups moved in.

He held back and stayed in the trees as Enki headed into the camp to warn them. He knew he would be best out front, not squashed in the rank and file where his trident would probably hurt others more than help. Gerrardenm, with his sword and freind, would be safe in the ranks. Hopefully Lasarra and Kelina stuck together and watched each other's backs.
He stayed above in the trees, making sure to stay a ways in front of the leaders so he could spot the army and any scouts they had before they hit the main army. Maybe he would be able to warn them in time and make it less of a shock.

Vollerei:
She sighed and rubbed a hand across her grumbling stomach. Would there be time to grab a snack? Her antenea slouched in disaappointment as she heard the call to prepare to move out. Drat, no time to eat other than the small snacks she'd brought with her! She shouldered her spear and fell in line with her sisters, her bulk would make her an easier target, so it would be good to have help near at hand.
Zweil and her baggage she left behind with teh healers. It would be best Zweil was not near this fight, she didn't want him to be hurt.

Senja:
Her hand tightened on Niadra's arm all happy thoughts about Rastian gone when she heard Enki's announcement. So soon! She hurried to the healer's stations, hoping that this war wouldn't have too drastic a toll on her people. She wished that she had some ability to fight, so she could help; but at the same time, was glad that she would be safer back here. Not that she wouldn't see her sare of blood since all the wounded would come through here, but she hoped it wouldn't be too horrible.

Bhima [ post 7 ]
Lucky for the Alkidike, she was used to sneaking through the forest. She had been on hunts, and as a youngling she had been forced to escape from home without waking her mothers. She stood behind Enki and watched the movement beyond. Ah, yes... it was time.

As the group traveled back, she broke into a sprint and slowed only when she had reached the ranks. She would be more useful by the edges, but it would not be untoward to find a shield to hide behind.

War. War was coming... She searched the crowd for faces she recognized, unsure whether she planned to protect them or stay as far away as possible to avoid watching their gruesome injuries and potential deaths.

Ime [ post 5 ]

Oh, look! Those people had come back! Ime stood unwittingly just beyond the healing tents, hands clasped together. What was it, then? Were they going to-- oh no! She bounced on her keels, peering around. For the first time since she had arrived, her nerves were flaring.

"It's happening?!" she asked the nearest adult, "The fighting starts soon?!"

"Ime!" her mother took her hand and began to bring her away from any possible action. "I told you to stay with Auntie Leil!"

"She was busy!"

Chandra Post 7

Looking to Samoset who was making the most sense at the moment and then his gaze moved to Kennet, then moved to his own brother. He looked to Aysun a long moment before watching as Kennet explained his intentions on going to go look for their dad. What? Wasn't their father fighting in the war?

Without thinking he stepped away from Aysun and in a more hurried manner went to catch up with Kennet, his hand coming out to grab ahold of the hybrids shoulder. A strange mix of emotions were welling up inside of him.

"W..what are you? Stupid? Who do you think your hurting here?" Chandra's voice was..for the most part level, although quiet and seething. It mattered not to him that Kennet left, it was more that he was hurting his twin...leaving him to go get himself killed with all likeliness. Samoset wasn't a bad person, but his brother was an idiot. "Brothers stick together, don't be selfish and leave him when your family is separated." It was perhaps a miracle that many words came out of his mouth but Chandra couldn't believe it. He couldn't imagine leaving his twin side..not during a war...not when their family is out there fighting.

Jerarda Post 6

Trying not to sigh in her frustration she knew that they had attempted 'peace' talks that they had been fruitless, though she couldn't help but wonder if she would of been more convincing...still trying not to dwell on it too long she straightened as suddenly Enki was coming through the forest and ordering the march forward.

Closing her eyes she pondered going back to find Rishima, though he had his friends with him he should be alright. Right? Her thoughts cross over Animah wondering if she was caught up in this mess of a war...and some part of her hoped that she wasn't. Hoped that she was safe at her house looking after her garden. The alkidike was surprised on how her thoughts lingered on the hybrid even as she was going off to fight.

Spear in hand she looked to Enki wondering if this was such a good idea. Scouting was fine, and if they were lucky perhaps the people of Oba were not use to fighting in their forest. They could of laid traps, pits...ambushes by leading the enemy into the forest but instead they rush to greet them instead. She wasn't afraid to fight but she didn't want to die needlessly either.

Moving forward she gave an raised eyebrow to Yansa before tipping her head to her. She would follow her leaders direction.

Takoda Post 5

The male shifter sighed as he had left Jacinthus and the rest of his strange little family. It felt weird to be 'alone' and yet be surrounded by people. He hadn't want to be distracted by his loved ones, not as a healer. Though his role was to stay back and heal those who were wounded would his personal wants over-ride his work? Lost in his own thoughts he gave a squeak of surprise as he was caught and hauled backwards. Arms wrapped around him and at first he struggled though it was short lived as he recognized his lovers voice instantly.

Oh no. Jacinthus had gone after him. Though part of him was thrilled by this the other was worried. He never did tell Jacinthus about his harrowing trip to the Alkidike's home islands...perhaps once this was all over he would.

"...Alright..I won't run..but..when this is all finished I will 'punish' you." He teased lightly before he looked up and noticed Enki who was now telling everyone to move forward. Chewing his lower lip he glanced to Jacinthus enjoying his embrace a moment longer before gently pulling away.

"looks like its time to go."
"Lead the way to where we are going to be taking up position but no running away when my back is turned." He'd hate to have to turn the battlefield upside down looking for him after all.

Keilana Post 4

Although she watched as her brother hurried up after his mate, she felt herself roll her eyes and then wish she wasn't so cynical about it. After all if given the chance she would of gone back to her boys. So why should she feel ..mean about Jacinthus going with Takoda? Though..perhaps that was just it...he was with his mate. Whilst she had to leave the boys behind. Though she knew there was no place on the battle field for children she still wished she could go back and give them one more hug.

As Enki appeared and informed everyone to move she hefted her hammer to her hands. She would be using it soon...and she wasn't so sure about killing people with it. Practice was one thing, hunting another. But to brutally kill each other? Sighing she looked to Chalcedony a moment before giving a small smirk,

"Down time huh? Guess we deserve a vacation, we should take the kids somewhere." She casually spoke, "though if your thinking of some..other kind of 'down' time I think I am happy with just the two boys thank you." She was teasing Chal of course, though it was hard to not notice she was trying to distract herself from what they were going to have to do next.

Finnley: post 7, Natsu, Viveka, Pahana

Finn rose when Natsu did, and did her best not to cling onto him even though that's all she wanted to do. He was so comforting! She suddenly hoped that she hadn't imposed herself upon them, neither seemed to mind her being there so she let it go for the moment. A pretty girl shouted out to Natsu and Viveka, and it was towards her that they were bound now. Paha was what Viveka called her, and she seemed friendly enough as she pulled them all in for a large embrace. That caused a slight smile to appear on Finnley's face. "H-hi, I'm Finnley." She introduced herself quietly as the elders started speaking once more. They were directed over to a shifter woman who asked for people who had enough healing knowledge to lead, Finn hoped that one day she could count herself in that group, but for now, her little group seemed content to stay where they were in the crowd. Which was when the scouts showed back up and everyone started moving out. She clung to Natsu's side even more as the press of people went around them, leaving camp and heading to war.

Ethelfleade: post 8: Rayolun

Fleade did everything she was told, being quiet when she had to and stepping carefully when they got closer. She wasn't as adept at walking in the trees as the other three of her group, so she stayed a bit behind them. What they saw made Ethelfeade fear for all of the races gathered here to defend their homes. So many tents...so many people. She couldn't help but notice the ranks that were forming up and getting ready to march on them. That was when they got the signal to retreat back to camp. She followed as swiftly as she dared. When they got back to camp, Enki went forward to warn everybody and start gathering their ranks. She noticed the two other scouts had went their separate ways, so where should she go? The shifter, Rayolun stayed in the trees. Making her way over to him, she still kept her distance before she spoke to him. "Are you going to scout ahead of the block? Might I come with you? As they say, 4 eyes are better than one!"

Kelina: post 5: Lasarra

Kelina giggled as Sauron mentioned himself using a bow. She hadn't seen him attempt but he was good with his lance. A slight blush appeared on her face as he kissed her hand, and she watched sadly as he walked away. "Be safe Sauron..." She whispered quietly after him. There was nothing much that Kelina could do except stick by her sister's side as they walked to where the defensive magic and ranged fighters were. Nibby sat on her shoulder and pulled a few strands of hair. "Fly above and keep an eye on Sauron, Nibby. If he gets in trouble, come to me immediately." She said, her sprite listened and pushed off her shoulder with surprising force and zoomed off above her head.

Mella post 6 healer’s tent.

Right so at least she knew she was working with the right kind of plants. Smiling at Biroki she was glad. She watched Alek go to work as well and figured he would be working with her a lot in this endeavor. She peeked up to notice Kiyelt and her eyes widened she hastily tried to wave back and nearly upended her paste she had been working on. Scolding herself she went straight back to work not intending to mess up and risk ruining a batch. There was no telling how much supply they had and how much might end up being needed.

BarAmal post 6 healer’s tent ready to be out

BarAmal had been shocked to see Betoto here but she seemed quite immersed in what she was doing so he tried to keep out of her way as much as he could. The ice boy had left him and no one else seemed to notice his injury at all which was nice because then they couldn’t make a big fuss over it. He went over toward a prentice minding the fire. “Hello. Would you be able to help with a small matter?” He flashed his injured palm toward the prentice since he didn’t look overly occupied and while BarAmal didn’t really know which slave was alright to grab. “It’s not deep, just really annoying.” He heard the moving out of troops and he wanted to be on his way as soon as he could. He shifted his weight ready to race off as soon as this was dealt with.

Antiope

[Biroki -> Antiope]

At first, Biroki was not going to speak any further about it and just let Antiope lead off the more qualified people.

But then he remembered what he was. He was a sage. Though he controlled destructive magic, Reshel had trained him well. He had been a healer's apprentice. He knew what to do, he knew how to do it, and he had already started leading.

He was a sage. Time to act like one.

He hurried after others that had heeded her call, trying to pretend that there had been no hesitation, no lag time between the order and his response.

[Kaalnia -> Kind of... Lost -> Heading back to the Armory]

Kaalnia had just gotten within shouting distance of the main force of the army when... they were off. She leaned against a hut and watched them go, giving them a wave as they left.

Well crap. Looked like she wasn't going to find the other people this time around. She hoped there was a next time.

She watched them for a while before clapping her hands together.
"Well!" she said out loud to nobody in particular, her voice falsely cheerful, "Guess I'll go check on 'Kida." she turned and made for the weapons tent, trying to stay cheerful. Yeah. Her face fell. Not happening. She looked back towards the armed force and hoped that her sis came back all right. But there was nothing she could do, really.

So she put her smile right back on, and continued sauntering towards tent.

[Dyakida -> Aminah -> Armory]

Dyakida quietly let the Sage's answer sink in. "You fight and so... you fight..." she said, thoughtful. "You fight to protect and so... you fight..." she trailed off suddenly, seeming to realize she was thinking out loud.
"Forgive me. It was. I just... well." she chewed her words carefully, "I just wanted to know." she straightened up as she heard the call to move out. She shuddered, trying and failing to hide it.
"Go, then. And come back." she added. She wanted to know what enemy Aminah had implied that they should fight instead. She wanted to Speak to Aminah again. She wanted to speak to all her familiar people again. Her friends. "Good luck." she said quietly, trying to keep her composure until Aminah left.

[Hijil -> Of to war]

The waiting wasn't so bad. Somehow, the large shifter was good at being inconspicuous in a crowd, and she melted into the throng of the rear line, waiting for the order to go.

She noted that there were quite a few younger sorts in this crowd, and that worried her. But that didn't change her job. She was a guard, so she would guard. She would do harm to prevent harm. She had already steeled herself for that.

And then the call to war was sounded, and she could feel it shiver inside her like a bell. Her stomach clenched as the line began to move, and she with it. This was it. She was off to war. And, to her surprise, she realized something in perfect and stark clarity. She clenched her fists and tried to bury it deep inside herself, moving forward with renewed purpose.

But the fact remained.

She was scared.

Duke Edward Drake

[Ruelash -> Iroia -> To war]

He hadn't expected her to move that fast or make that kind of pinning maneuver. He watched her go, slightly befuddled, before a brilliant, intense, bloodthirsty grin grew on his face. "Heh." he chuckled, sheathing his swords with a practiced flourish, "The same to ya. Keep count, would ya?" he said, stalking towards the close line, "Lets see how many we each down." he could feel his heart leap in his chest, and tingles ran across his skin like some unseen spectral wind. He was excited, so excited. He had been looking forward to war ever since it had been announced. He licked his lips in anticipation. He was warmed up. He was ready. Yes... so ready... Sharpened and prepared just as his blades had been.

When the call to move forward was sounded, he was ready to go, his stride light and predatory. There would be blood today, and he, with eyes intense and smile sharp, was waiting to spill it.

[Nuawahn -> Ogbonna, Kiyelt, -> to War]

ooo! Kiyelt was here too?! Nua waved at him as he came over. It had been a while, and nua was happy to see that Kiyelt was doing so well. "Hi Kiyelt! Hi Gaddock!" he said, waving equally joyously at the other man, his voice light and merry, "I'm a healer!" he said, by way of explanation, "And this is where I'm supposed to be!" and to him it was as easy as that, "I'm waiting for my friend Ogbonna- he said we'd stick together and..." he saw Oggie come over and brightened up - somehow - even more. "Hi Oggie!" he said, smiling at him. Not up - Oggie wasn't that tall. "Yep!" he said, mentally checking his things. He had all the healery things he would need.

Amma huffed. He was not ready and he should leave now, and he would be if she had her way, but she didn't. She didn't like it. Not one bit.
"Ah!" Nua looked forward as the call was sounded and they all began to move. "We're moving!" he said,. This was so exciting! A big group adventure! He took Oggie's arm. "See you later Kiyelt! Nice meeting you Gaddock!" he said, waving as the heavy defense lines began to move out.

Somehow... somehow... he still had no idea what he was really getting into. War, to him, was a thing of stories and adventures.

Aminah (Post 7)

Aminah grabbed Dyakida's hand and gave it one final squeeze before melding into the crowd. "I'll be sure to come back. Stay safe."

She bounded through the bulk of the crowd, craning her neck to catch a glimpse of her sister's silvery-white hair before joining up with her position in the crowd. She just barely was able to see her short-framed sibling entering a tent with a group of others before she disappeared. Well now, the rest was up to her. Hopefully Sathe would stay safe through all of this.

Aminah jogged forward, letting herself reach her position and grasping onto her staff. Her nerves were working themselves up again, and it was working a knot in her stomach.

Sathe (Post 8 )

She could lead, right? It was something Sathe had to decide for herself before she could confidently stay or follow with those with experience. Well, generally speaking, they probably wouldn't want to follow a fourteen year old in the first place, but she did have experience, and a lot of experience with plants. She hadn't had much time with the magic side of it at all, but the scientific part, she could do.

Sathe nodded her head to herself, deciding on the spot that she would lead. He sister had led their village when there was a fire, she could lead people now. It was practically in her blood. She looked back once, standing on her toes to try to catch a glimpse of Gaddok. She couldn't see past most of the heads, like she expected, so she turned on her heels and followed the others into the tent with Antiope.
