Her axe slashed across the stomach of the shadow, and the girl fell. The chest cracked inwards, disappearing piece by piece. Ying reached in and grabbed her key and loot. She was victorious.
It felt ... sour.

Ying wandered into the final room. She hoped this one was a spa challenge, or maybe a sleeping challenge. Ying was tired and needed a good backrub.
But no, on she wandered into the room with books stacked high to the ceiling. "Ah, well this is both unique and redundant. You are a story within a story within a story currently surrounded by stories, of which, some may relate or reflect upon your own." Ying turned, seeing a gargoyle. "He calls me Darkest Knightsbane, but everyone else simply refers to me as the Librarian. It's accurate, at the very least, though they'll never understand the unintentional reference."
Ying didn't get the reference either. She also wondered who this "he" everyone kept mentioning was. She kept her mouth shut though- a lady didn't talk out of turn.
The gargoyle leaned back in his seat and Ying very much wished to do the same. "It should be obvious what I will require of you, but don't feel rushed. Take your time and try to tell me a decent story, hm?"
Oh? A story? That was certainly a daunting final task. Ying asked, "Um ... M-May I sit while I tell the story?"
The gargoyle shrugged, gesturing to the area around him. She found a spot to rest her feet, sighing with relief as she sat down.
"Hmmm ... well ... admittedly I am not very good with stories, but I know one that is very good! It has a-" She paused, wondering if the story was too immature for the librarian. Maybe it would be childish?
Ying decided it was better to tell it than not tell it. "Once upon a time ..."

"And they all lived happily ever after," Ying said cheerily, looking to the library. He had been writing down the story the entire time. "Was that um ... g-good?"

Ying took the key from his hands. Now that she was a bit rested and thoroughly worked, she decided it was time to head to the top of the tower.
