Usually Perry wouldn't bother attending these sorts of events, watching other people play sport was, to him, tedious and dull. Why watch someone do something you could be doing? But his commitment to the Football team had always rather limited his ability to participate in other sports.
Usually he'd claim he was busy and had better more interesting things to do, but annoyingly, Nathair had demanded his presence today.
"Ye gotta be more social!" He'd argued.
"I'm perfectly social." Perry had argued back.
And round and around they went till Perry had just given up and agreed to come to the stupid SKRM match.
Now he was annoyed as his naga friend wasn't even HERE. If this was some sort of elaborate prank, he wasn't amused.
But he was here now so he slumped into a seat near Chase and smirked at Rory and Dashner.
"You two look cosy." He chuckled and took out his phone to text his absent friend.
"Remind me not to tick you off." He indicated the railing Chase had damaged.
When Nathair hadn't responded, he once more took out his phone and tried Vinnie.

Rory opened one red and purple eye. He looked around trepidatiously.
"It's not my arm?" Rory then came to the stark realization that both of his arms, yes, were intact, and were in fact encircled around Dashner's neck. Rory let go and coughed. "Er. Sorry. Loud cracking noises cause me some fangxiety..."
Rory sat back down between Dashner and Ronan. With Perry joining them on the bench, it was getting pretty crowded again. He checked the scoreboard video feed. Atomica Servo had just exited the chute and was skating with as much flat-out speed as she could towards the outer curve of the track.
The cameras seemed to have lost sight of Marceline and Meme. Both teams had been nearing the end of the lava run, which meant it was time to change to a new challenge...

Safe from the lava pit, Marceline was gaining on Glen and the rest of the racers when he got entangled in the giant spider's web! There was no time to free him and even less time to plan a strategy... She scanned the entire web looking for an opening she could skate through but none were tall enough. She tensed, seeing only one option, speeding up her skates before crouching low to the ground. Then, just a few yards from the web and certain ensnarement, Marceline launched herself from the track and through a wide segment of empty space. She broke her fall with the palms of her hands, tumbling head over heels and back onto her skates. A quick dusting off and Marceline was picking up speed once again.
"Sorry, Glen!" She called over her shoulder. "Ain't got no time to cut y'down! Atomica's on her way!"

Glen da West Watching on the scoreboard, Clawd jumped to his feet, "Atomica! You're up! And free Glen while you're at it!"
Glen winced and screwed his eyes shut tight.....as a pin-sized beam zipped around him and cut him free. Before he could fall, Atomica skated right into him and scooped him up into a fireman's carry on her shoulder."Darn it!" Atomica pouted. "If I had known I was going to skate, I could have charged my Death Ray up more than 2%."Glen let out a long, relieved sigh. And then he held on tight! Atomica sailed through the rest of the spider-webs and trailed behind Marceline and Meme."There's the finish line!" She called out. As soon as they crossed it, the second heat would begin!

Vinnie had arrived at the SKRM track just as the first heat was coming to an end. She spotted Perry and a few other monsters she barely recognized from school, sitting in the front, and with a flutter of her wings she floated up the screechers. "Well, now I see why you dragged me out here..." She clicked her fangs as she slumped down in an available seat, next to Perry. "This looks about as hexciting as watching paint dry!"

"Hey, I gotta suffer, you gotta suffer. Them's the rules.. or something. " He grinned and moved a little so she could sit.
"Seriously, I have no idea where that ridiculous Naga IS. I think he's messing with me."
He snickered.
"At least you're better company. He was bringing the ... other half... " He shuddered. "Have you met his ghoulfriend? Ghoul crazy, seriously... "
He tapped his temple.
"Totally nuts. You're here to keep me sane."
The cameras flickered back on, showing the finish line. Meme and Marceline were almost neck and neck. Either way, Monster High had this one in the bag and Smogsnorts knew it.

The finish line was drawing near... Meme was neck-and-neck with a Smogsnorts ghoul and Marceline was just behind them. Marceline knew she wouldn't catch up in time, but there was hope for Meme to claim the heat for the Nightmares... She rached into her vest pocket and pulled out a small satin pouch full of a foul-smelling powder."Meme!" She cried out, winding back her arm and readying a fastball pitch. "Brace yourself, ghoul!"
Marceline flicked her arm forward, hurling the pouch at Meme. The bag landed on the track just behind Meme's skates, exploding on impact and propelling Meme across the finish line. The Smogsnorts racer was caught in the blast and knocked off her skates, face charred and hair frizzled to the roots; Marceline glided past her with a victorious grin and crossed the finish line second."Yes!!!" Marceline high-fived Meme as the crowd went wild.

"YES!" Rory shot his arms in the air as Marceline nailed a game-changing scenario. "YES! YES! YES! YES!"
His enthusiasm was catching...and soon the entire section was mirroring Rory's action cheering Monster High on.
"YES! YES! YES! YES!"
"See?" Rory turned to Ronan. "You were worried for nothing! Marceline totally has everything under control!"

Ronan cheered with the others
"Meme! Du finnes fantastisk og herlig! Jahar vi vunnet!"
He glanced to Rory, frowned a little and realised in his excitement he'd reverted to his native tongue.
"Um... yes, yes she did! Both of them are just fangtastic!" He joined Rory in his enthusiasm, it was rather contagious.

"Well, i don't think he's coming and you know what? That's his problem. " He leaned over to Vinnie conspiratorially. "You bring your camera? We can totally blow this snooze fest, go do some exploring like we planned."
Which worked out great, no needing to make excuses to sneak out half way through, they could just GO. For once Nathair's unreliable nature was actually going to work out to Perry's advantage. Clawsome.

Meme was blasted forward by the explosion, zipping past the remaining Smogsnorts (who were conveniently blasted sideways into the 'safety section' of garbage and old cardboard boxes) and sent her into a tumbling roll across the finish line. She jumped onto her feet, coughing and spluttering out noxious powder, but more or less safe and she cried out in victory! Meme looked to the finish line, waiting to see her automaton team-mate and the now-charred Smogsnorts cross over. "We did it!"Marceline, unscathed from the blast, joined shortly after and the crowd rose in cheers and applause. "Oh my GHOUL! That was uh-mazing, you- you-! What was that stuff?!" She laughed loudly and danced on her skates. The clown took hold of Marceline's hand and raised it into the air, sending the crowd into a louder frenzy of cheers. "Omygoth, you totally crushed them! You totally won that for us! Hexcellent work!" She cackled again

Dashner stood up and stood on his seat, using his wings to flap into the air. He turned 360 degrees, and pumped his fist in the air as he slowly lowered himself back into his seat.
...
He cleared his throat. "SKRM does this to me, bro."

Vinnie's eyes darted around, making sure no one was eavesdropping on them. "Camera's in my bag, Pigeon. And I got a chance this afternoon to look through some old maps of the Catacombs in the libury... I found something you wouldn't believe!" She flicked her head toward the SKRM track exit, and with a twist of her tentacles she headed off.

He laughed. "Who you calling pigeon, Squid ghoul?" He grinned and stood.
"See ya."
He didn't bother with an explanation to the guys, who needed one? He headed off after Vinnie.
Once they were a bit into the catacombs he extracted a torch from his bag and looked to Vinnie.
"This better be good." He teased.
