Adrian shrugged one shoulder. "It wasn't stolen, if that's what you think; came right out of the ground... though getting to where it was wasn't that easy," he said with a shrug. Money didn't mean that much to him, so there were two details he didn't find impressive: the size of the gemstone and the money it was worth.

Lillian was just about to say something to her father before she heard Adrian speaking. "Daddy, why do you always think that someone has to steal something like this and that they can't have found it where things like this are found naturally? You're so stubborn Daddy and it's just driving me insane.... Why don't you ever trust any of my friends?" she said, her voice raising. She knew that her tone would probably get her into trouble with her father, but she didn't much care at the moment because she knew that someone had to get through her father's thick skull that gems, like the one Adrian had showed her father, didn't have to be stolen or something of that nature. "I never said that, though I suppose that's what it sounded like to you isn't it?" he said to Adrian before turning to his daughter and narrowing his eyes at her before speaking. "You, young lady, need to learn to hold your tongue and not speak like that to me. Although, if you wish to keep speaking to me like that then you'll not be seeing any more money from me, missie." He then pointed in the direction of Lillian's room, implying that he was sending her there whether she liked it or not. And even though Lillian was reluctant to move she glared at her father and took off to her room; Roxy meeting her halfway to her room.

Adrian rolled his eyes. "She didn't say anything whatsoever; what gave you away was your own facial expression," he said with a deadpan tone. He cocked his head slightly, wincing slightly as a sensation he could only describe as if someone had jabbed him with a needle behind his right eye shot through his head. A low inhalation was the only warning that something had happened. "Did a woman with deep golden eyes and wavy black hair or a man with turquoise eyes and dark salt-and-pepper hair meet you at work earlier today?" he said quietly; the latter he had seen earlier, while he'd caught a flash of the other moments before. He was unaware there was a trickle of blood leaking from his nose.

Lillian hated when her father sent her to her room and hated it even more when she was sent to her room in front of a friend that she had over. She felt so embarrassed that she had been yelled at and she wished that it would not have happened, though things like that always happened when she tried telling her father off. And even if she was right she was still wrong in her father's eyes and he never listened to her when it really mattered. Lillian's father looked from where his daughter had disappeared to Adrian. He listened to Adrian asking him if he'd seen someone with a specific description and he replied with, "I have seen a woman with that discription, however, I don't have to disclose any information about her to you, boy," he looked down to his laptop and began typing before speaking again, "You can go now. I can imagine that you can go pester Lillian or one of the other people in the household, but do not bother me any further than you and that daughter of mine have." His tone was like ice as he mentioned Lillian, as if he didn't care for her in that moment; even if that wasn't really the case, although there were more than enough times that he had seemed like that when he was disrupted from work.

Adrian cocked his head slightly. "You don't have to; I know who she is, though frankly I was surprised myself... since I never met her until earlier tonight," he said coolly. "I suspect that there are others far less pleasant that know you encountered her and may try to use you and your family to get to her," he said as he turned away and followed after Lillian. Once he was out of earshot of the older man he sighed closer to Lillian. "Now I'm really glad I didn't tell him about the crystal cavern... and the pure veins of gold and silver deeper in the cavern," he said quietly.

Lillian closed her bedroom door after going into her room and she plopped down on her bed, grabbing her pillow and screaming into it. She then lay back and stared at the ceiling, cursing her father's attitude towards her and wishing that she had different parents. Well, she did not mind her mother so much; although when it came to her father it was a whole other story. "Well, if you know her then stop pestering me." Mr. Stacy said, grumbling at being pestered more than he needed to be.

Adrian snorted as he heard Lillian's father grumbling. "I would call him a jackass, but that would be insulting donkeys," he muttered before he heard the muffled scream as he reached Lillian's room and gently knocking on it.

Lillian pulled the pillow from her face after she finished screaming into it and at the same moment she heard a soft rapping on her door. "If that's Daddy i'll scream at him and not care if I get grounded..." she grumbled softly to herself before getting off her bed, going to the door to see who was knocking. "Oh, Adrian, you can come in. And I'm sorry that Daddy was acting like that.... He's a bit of a jerk sometimes... Mostly to me and my friends, the ones he doesn't know; However, if it's someone that he knows he'll treat them like gold; as I have told you before." she said, walking to her bed and petting Roxy, who had jumped onto the bed beside her.

Adrian opened the door. "Then I'm glad that I didn't reveal what was deeper in the cavern; there are veins of pure silver and gold two fingers thick deeper in the shadows of the cavern," he said quietly.

Lillian nodded as she listened to Adrian speaking. "Yeah, if Daddy would have heard about that, he'd probably have been forcing you into telling him where it was. I wouldn't want him to know about it because he's already greedy enough as it is and I wouldn't want there to be any more reason for him to think that he has to have more money... Why did I get stuck with such a selfish father...?" she said, mumbling the last bit to herself. She sighed and hugged Roxy, who had licked her face trying to comfort her.

Adrian tilted his head thoughtfully, shrugging his shoulders. "I was thinking of showing it to you, though it might be a good idea to get some sleep before heading out after the sun rises; the last thing we'd want is another one of those things showing up and managing to grab us while outside of here... and trust me, you don't want to know what they'd do," he said, shivering slightly; he hadn't forgotten the one that had jumped him in the cavern he called home. What that vampire had wanted to do to him was disturbing on a level that would have had Freddy Kruger pissing himself in fear.

Lillian was about to stand up, but she was knocked over by Roxy, who started licking her face playfully. "Roxy... Stop... please..." she said between giggles. When she managed to stop Roxy from lick attacking her she turned to Adrian, apologized and said, "We could go tomorrow after we both rest up, though it's up to you. I'm up to get out of the house, though we'll have to get up and out of here before Daddy wakes up or he'll not let us go... He almost always catches me when I'm trying to go somewhere and I don't want to have him yelling at us for trying to sneak out early. He'd yell at me for just trying to go somewhere without permission and then he'd yell at you for going with me. And I think that I'll bring Roxy. Maybe she'd be able to sense the creatures too? I can usually tell when something's bothering her, though I wasn't paying much attention when that thing was outside... I just thought that she was barking at a cat or something..." She took her pillow and tossed it at Roxy playfully and watched as the red husky dodged it before laying on it, looking at Lillian as if she were laughing at her for missing.

Adrian smiled faintly, scratching Roxy behind the ears. "That sounds like an idea; I like it," he said with a half smile that to most would have been quite mischievous. His dark navy-indigo eyes twinkled with amusement as he glanced towards the door as someone knocked on it.

Lillian saw the look on Adrian's face, but she dismissed the fact that it looked a bit mischievious. "Well, I'm going to go gather some things that we may need for tomorrow. I have a ton of stuff in my walk-in closet that could be used for camping, hiking and all that, so-" she said before being interuppted by a knocking at her door. "Could you get that while I go and check on what I think we might need? If don't think that I want to talk to either of my parents right now. But if it is one of them I guesss that you'll have to get me if they ask for me, since I wouldn't want to start any problems by telling them no..." she said as she made her way into her walk-in closet, almost resigning herself to the fact that her parents controlled what life she had while she lived in their house; more so her father than her mother, but still.

Adrian shrugged one shoulder as he turned towards the door, giving Lillian whatever privacy she needed. He was mildly surprised to see Lillian's mother smiling at them. "I decided to see if either of you were hungry for a good meal," she said cheerfully with amusement. He blinked, having never gotten that offer or something similar to it and so was unsure what to do.
