Derek blinked as Eliza threw a balloon at Trev, and hit it's mark.

Oh hell no.

Trev was his target first darn it. Even if they were under a truce at the moment. So picking up a balloon he threw it at her, hoping it would hit, only to have it sail over her head.

Now that he was firing off good shots again, Griffin set his sights on Eliza. She was the one who'd most recently nailed him, and while that was probably in response to him dropping a balloon on her, he still needed to get revenge. Quickly, before he forgot and started launching shots at other people.

Paying more attention to his target than where he was going, he reached into the nearest tub. His expression changed suddenly, and he scrunched his face up like he'd just bitten into a lemon. Slowly, he looked into the tub, already knowing what he would find. Soapsuds. Again. Exactly what he wanted- not.

And he knew he had to be extra careful with them, to make sure he didn't hit anyone in the eyes with them. Cupping his hand, Griffin took a single scoop of bubbles and gently lobbed them at Eliza, aiming for her chest. Her clothes would get soapy, but that was better than getting a face full of the stuff.

The juice seemed to have done the trick and Briar felt on top of the world again. It also seemed about the right time for him to get a little revenge.

His target was Griffin who probably should have seen it coming and it was probably apt that the other was at the sudsy water tub as sudsy bubbles was going to be his ammo of choice.

His opportunity came when the other was lobbing bubbles at one of the girls and Briar sneaked up as quietly as he could and sent some of those self-same bubbles Griffin’s way, though he made sure to take care to keep it shirt level – after all aiming for the head with this stuff was just not cool.

Revenge taken, Briar tried to dash out of retaliation range and take the opportunity to find a new target.

Eliza hadn't been watching her back. While she had engaged Derek, Griffin had managed to sneak up on her. It was the sensation of wetness on her chest that had Eliza glancing down to see a sudsy residue on the front of her jumper. Just as she was about to touch the spot in disbelief a water balloon struck her in the head and burst, showering her with wetness. The good thing was it seemed to rinse the bubbles right off ... the bad news was that she was close to tears. Being ganged up on wasn't very fair.

The girl stomped her foot and then laughed almost cruelly as Griffin was treated to the same that he'd just given her from Briar. Eliza saluted the other boy before chasing Akane. She'd not started the battle between them but she just wasn't going to let the other girl get a free hit in on her.

Eliza reached into the next tub she found and grasped her next weapon. She'd hit Akane, no matter what. She got within range and threw with all her might.

Well actually Briar was doing this in the hopes of getting a box of the bestest fresh baked choc chip cookies in the world in the end, but he was having fun with it, something that he’d doubted he would at first.

He’d run off too quickly to notice the other girl (Eliza) and he’d gotten his revenge on Griffin, which meant that it was time for a new target.

He thought he’d found it in Akane, but the balloon that he’d tried lobbing in her direction had ended up spattering harmlessly against a tree.

Hands and shirt free of soapy residue, Griffin slapped the water fountain on it's side before running back into the gaggle of kids. Briar was still the foremost target on his mind. Sure, he still wanted to hit all the other kids, but Briar had cemented his place as Griffin's rival, and he needed to act accordingly. A mere water balloon wouldn't suffice. He needed something spectacular, something that would make it clear that he wasn't backing down.

He rejected the contents of two bins before finding one that he approved of. He plunged his hands into the tub, then pulled out two bulging fistfuls of confetti. The papery bits stuck to his wet hands, but that wasn't nearly as bad as the soap. Running in the direction he'd last seen Briar head off in, he reared back and released a one-two shot. Confetti went everywhere, and Griffin cackled as he ran off, using the storm of paper to mask his getaway. "Your turn now!"

This round of revenge successfully completed, Griffin rubbed his hands together to dislodge the bits of confetti that were sticking to them. Then he stopped. They were actually making his hands a little less slippery. Maybe that would help him keep a better grip on balloons, at least for a while. It was worth a shot!

Abandoning the confetti bin, he darted over to another one and fished out a balloon. It was still hard to keep a hold of, but he managed to aim it accurately enough to nail a passing girl. That settled it! Soap was terrible, but confetti was great, and even though it felt weird, it could stay on his hands for as long as it wanted to.

The sudden soaking caught Trev slightly off guard, but as he was starting to get hot, it was welcome. Laughing softly, he shook himself and turned to see who had gotten him. Just in time to see Eliza gloating slightly and then Derek throwing a balloon at her. And missing.

Awwww, was Derek trying to defend him? That was awesome. Bros were awesome. Hefting his own balloon, he considered quickly before throwing his balloon at Eliza, but just sliiiiiiightly to the left. He didn't want to hit her. Yet.

But he could sure as heck worry and harry her.
