"I think we should start getting that-" Ariane pointed to the fog figure, "But be careful not to fall into the vortex." She really wasn't all that curious about where it led.
Drawing back her weapon, she aimed Kintama at the fog figure before throwing him towards it, calling it back to herself once she landed a hit; the good thing about having bolas as a weapon was that it was both a short and long ranged weapon.

She kept beserking the elf, completely aware of how close she was getting to the thing. Her shards throbbed again, sending another rough wave of gushing red rage through her body. Kill, kill, kill.
The thing kept insisting to pull him towards the vortex, which was just becoming an annoying hassle. Scowling, Mort powered Thor up and gave the thing an electrified blow to the noggin (or what he thought would be one).
And all the while the whispers in his head were in delight.
A final throb of the shards as Gene landed a solid kick to the face, and suddenly everything black inside of her shattered. All the rage, hate, corruption - gone. It was...beautiful. Her vision was no longer tinted red, and she was fully aware once again.
And fully aware of all the feelings she'd hurt. Oh no... oh no. She frowned at the thought of having hurt Frost, and possibly Mei. She'd need to apologize to them.
For now, though, she had to focus. This thing was almost getting her near that nasty vortex.

And Aymet arrived to save the day! Or at least, his arm did. Alexander turned to look at the other boil, and offered him a wan smile. "I'll try not to move." He joked, even as the elf got back to it's feet and started pulling on him again. He anchored himself by clinging to Sophie, but he wasn't really sure how long he could stay in one place, and he was afraid if he attempted to attack he would just get dragged further in.
He had to bite back his sudden impulse to use some crummy pun like 'thanks for the hand'.

Nope, still there. Jack damn, Insanity fog was awful. That's what this was, correct? He flicked the elf off with a bit extra juice from the crustal in Thor's palm.
A familiar voice shouted from far up ahead and then another one from further behind, both with too much distance in either direction to reach. For a moment the witch almost took a step backwards, just to get further from that odd swirling vortex, but the horrid fog elf took her momentary distraction as his attack. A hand grabbed at the bottom of her skirts and yanked so that she fell forward, able to just barely keep her footing. An angry snarl was its reply as Belladonna found her footing, then kicked hard at the creature. "No! You're not even real!" She growled, but still found herself closer to the pit than she liked. A curse escaped her as she turned on a heel to run away and slipped once more in the snow, falling to her knees. It was, at least, the perfect place for the witch to see through the snow and find-- "Mort!" Back up onto her feet she scrambled forward to him, hands scrabbling at the snow that blocked her path. "We need a new plan, darling!" She offered in way of a joke, a small smile on her face as she attempted to close the distance, that damn elf following her still.

BOSS CUMULATIVE TOTAL: 154 Jake glared and attempted another attack... and ended up missing. Again... and almost toppled into the vortex. What a great example he was setting for hunters everywhere.

In desperation, the ghoul tried to use her FEAR on the elf, before she stopped herself. If she used it, she'd rush right into the vortex. No thank you, not happening.
She just fretted, giving a wary glance to anyone around. Help?
Not bothering to get up, she watched Jake for a moment, before turning her attention back to Ami when he was focused on 'Julie'.
Pulled into another hug, a little caught off guard by Ami's words. "Ami.." returning the hug, she patted the hunter on her back. "I've survived the Sahara, I'll survive this. That's a promise." She wasn't sure that it was a promise she could keep, not being able to tell what was to happen here, but it didn't mean she wouldn't try.

During the time he had been arguing and attacking, Tybalt had caught sight a familiar ghoul, struggling to fend off one of the many elves that threatened them. Which, upon closer examination, he would find that it was the same one that had been with Mei at the start of this whole mess.
Gene was it?
Well, whatever her name was, it looked like she could use some help. So without waiting for an invitation, the black dog ran and jumped over, kicking into the creatures face.
BOSS CUMULATIVE TOTAL: 162 Ok, now he was getting fed up. Growling, he lashed out again, this time, the blade finally finding its mark. Yes. YES. THIS WAS HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK.
HP: 40/40 Action: Attacking boss! Result: 8 dmg (ilu again) Remaining distance: 4 Items:Tusk of Ares, hand torch, barrier daggers Effects: +1 evasion (For death trainees) Blurb:5' 7" death trainee. Currently missing his sash.
Finally, with a little luck, Mei was successful in locating Gene in the chaos of things. Though, she too appeared to be struggling with an elf of her own. Just how many of these things were there? Stepping in, she reached to pull the creature from her, only to grasp at air when it moved out of reach. Sneaky little b*****d..! Luckily, Tybalt had more success than she did.
"R-Right." Stormy turned to the gray figure and gulped. It reminded her far too much of the dragon she had fought her first day at Deus. Thane's constant hissing was too much for her - she had to let go of the built up charges or risk being too unfocused by her partner's overeagerness to be useful - and she's already done stupid things today to warrant hiding under a few dozen pillows.
Thane wanted to show off his power, fine. At least they'd be doing something for the cause and hopefully make a good impression.
Making a quick salute, Stormy braced herself and tried to hide her mounting anxiety behind the usual sleepy mask she wore as she moved to strike the "boss". The Fear Thane had stored began to seep as a strange purple liquid on the blades edge, and larger spikes sprouted forth along with it - the timing splashed some of the liquid on her as she swung forward, corrosive in nature -
- and in one fell swoop all of it went wrong. The fog had messed with her senses, or an elf had tugged at her at the wrong time. Something. Either way, the blade hit nothing but air until it struck the ground in her clumsiness; in an instant the friction set off the acidic liquid and a small explosion engulfed her with a crackle.
Stormy didn't scream this time. She was too horrified by the burning and biting oil coating her; Thane was dropped as she fell to one knee, suddenly drained and very much close to losing her shield.
< < Plythu! Klaena! Xsio munthrek!! > > Thane howled in her mind. < < I had it! I had it - ! > >
Stormy just held herself and stared at the blade as the acid disappeared and the extra spikes with it, shaking between the hot tremors from the explosion and the cold shivers from the environment. Stupid.
