Sachie Whitby Rainsong Skywatcher Even if it is a plot to increase the undead population, it's still awesome! biggrin The first thing I thought of when I read this: World of Warcraft. xD Yea, there's World of Warcraft. I was thinking more traditional liches [as in usually evil wizards that sought to extent the existence using magic and can only actually be killed by destroying their phylactery] but you know what.... If we do that theme, it is 100% up to the main host and co-host to decide. As for why I decided vampires vs. liches? There are other types of undead, but in most cases we're dealing with things that are either non-corporeal, non-sentient and/or doesn't tend to be organized enough to be building an army. Well, yeah, I knew what you meant, just saying the first thing I thought xD The idea sounds so much like it, just saying. But yeah, that's awesome :3

Epcot Illuminations PinkieKitty Here's the rest I know: 1st: Regular fancy ball. 2nd: Through the times 3rd: Planets 4th: Uknown 5th: Elements 6th: Through the times (part 2) 7th: Fantasy 8th: Greek Gods 9th: 7 Deadly Sins 10th: Dreams 6th annual ball wasn't through the times, it was time travel. I was part of that event, and was the one I started. We have never repeated a previous theme. I think what would be cool is a wars theme or a books theme. Or even a film genre theme. I will elaborate more tomorrow. but I think it would be cool. Ah, yes! Sorry. I am 100% behind the classic literature theme. Film genres would also be really cool. Detective room, Sci-fi room, action car-chasing-explosion room... That would be really fun!

Oh and if someone has suggested something but you want to suggest it also with different twist, please do so! I'll still add it to the list!

Hey, speaking of adding on... Let's listen to Pinkie spam more about the Classic Literature Theme! I'll reiterate the old room ideas and add on the ones we were talking about earlier.
Moby-d**k-- What else? They're on the deck of a ship, hunting down the whale that harmed the captain (killed his parents, took his leg, whatever you want).
Shakespeare-- A more romantic-themed room in Renissance style, with identity mix-ups, marriages, sword fights, Shakespearian insults, and maybe even a death or two. O_o
Frankenstein-- A horror-based room set in a mad science lab! The hosts are working to bring a corpse back to life!
Great Gatsby-- A 1920s bootleg party! Pool, flapper dresses, bobbed hair, and a lot of sleeze.
Huck Finn-- A party on the Mississippi River! We have a classic hoedown.
Grimm Fairy Tales-- A lot can be done with this room, depending on what stories you want to use. It could kind of be a "masquerade of monsters" with the different beasts of Grimm Fairy Tales (goblins, trolls, fairies, bleh). You'll have to excuse me, I'm not terribly familiar with these tales yet.
Treasure Island-- This is iffy, since there was a pirate room this year, so it may or may not be used. But this would be a party on deck of a pirate ship or an island, searching for treasure.
Knights of the Round Table-- A party set in Camelot, with jousting, archery, sword fighting, wooing women, and the hosts can be the knights, and the king!
Dracula-- Murder mystery-esque style, the guests are trapped in the house with a vampire. One by one the hosts are dying (or because we don't want to lose any of our hosts, turning into vampires maybe?) and the guests need to find out who the original one is and stop he spread of the disease!
Don Quixote-- Okay, you'll have to forgive me. In my short 18 years of life, I have not read this book, nor am I terribly familiar with this. Sabatagear might be able to help with this one more. Perhaps set in spain. O_o
And perhaps ones for Infinite Jest, or Sophocles (though I'm sure no one wants to party in an Oedipus themed room).

OminousSweetheart- Do I still have time to share an idea of mine? sweatdrop
If I do,by any chance, My idea was Escaping the Monochrome World The roleplayers group together and try to find the basic colors [of the rainbow] In order to bring color back to the world. That sounds like a lot of fun! It's also a great challenge to make monochrome avi's, and I do see that growing in popularity. I've always liked the idea of doing one but accenting it with a small touch of color somewhere, which would fit the theme nicely! In the video game De Blob they did a similar thing where the world had grown boring and dull due to corporatization and mechanization, and bringing color back included the return of music, art and fun. I wouldn't want to do a direct rip-off, but the return of music, etc. could tie in nicely to the ball theme.

An animal theme A tragic accident in the Gaian labs turned everyone into animals (Domestic or wild). What they were trying to do was make a potion so that humans could understand animals and better understand their pets. The Main room would be the lab with Lab assistants trying to figure out what went wrong and how they can correct the problem with an antidote or another potion. The rooms: Domestic house cats Or Felines in general Domestic dogs or Canines in general Lions Den Tigers Birds of all kinds Bears Bunnies Arctic animals More can be added or less and combine some. Just an Idea

If you guys do a murder mystery theme, here is a good example I did with my guild, of one that did not work out so great. And so I am not eaten, I'll post a theme as well. Rainbow. Like, each room is a color. For some reason this makes me think of the mask of red death ;x Edit: Guh, I posted the test thread. It is fixed now. I hate doing stuff from my phone emo

Not sure if this is good Idea but Some thing to do strictly with the Victorian Era. Queen Victoria and King Arthur are the main host and Co-host, their castle is the main room The other rooms are Noble Houses that are have parties of their own as well. The host and secondary host would be the Lord and Lady of the house the co-hosts could be children, maids and butlers

Alias Facade Got about 5 pages in before I ran out of time to keep reading while at work... Loving the murder mystery idea, but I'm worried that players will be upset if they end up having to die to further the plot... we may have to fill the room with mules to use as victims (and not announce that they're NPCs), or give people the option to stay on as ghosts or some-such (Being very careful not to let them know who the murderer is first!). This would involve a lot of thunder claps and candles/lights going out... would work well with the Dracula theme or as a nod to Clue mrgreen Also, in regard to the Victorian themed ideas, Gaia has come out with a lot of items that could be cleverly worked into a Steampunk event. I personally am a big fan of the mad-science angle popularized by Girl Genius (And I know that the authors have done cross-promoting in the past... maybe they'd want to get involved in return for some publicity?) I love the Murder Mystery theme! You could ask Robayn (or really anyone), I love mysteries. 8D That would be a really fun ball. <3
Maybe, if something else gets picked, we should still have a murder mystery room 8D

Victoria actually married Prince Albert, which would be tough to introduce without a considerable amount of juvenile sniggering nowadays, I'm afraid xp

I just bought a huge book filled with all (or most) of the Grimm Fairy Tales (hardback, 8 dollars! Thank you Barnes and Noble!) so I would read through them if we did this... Especially if I was in the room!
