((attempt 1)) The fairy couldn't have been more excited when the ball responded to her words, waiting with anticipation to see if the ball would tell her who the murderer was. But sadly, it gave up, and even gave her a question mark. A question mark? Why was it doing that? Perhaps she needed to be more specific... "Oh, yes it did!" Astra said brightly to willow, then her feelers drooped. "It was only a question mark though, but it does mean it's a magical crystal ball!" However, her attempts to scour the mystery of the ball would be put on hold, as there was a safe that was begging to be opened, So she moved over to see if she could crack the numbers... Sighing and giving up on the safe, Astra moved back to the crystal ball, something which she was making good progress on and thought was a much better use of her time.
Though, she just needed to think of what to say to make it do what she wanted. Or maybe, it even needed some FEAR to work properly?
As she thought about it, she saw that a horsemen was doing something..truly interesting. Maybe his power would help make the crystal work as well?
Standing in front of the crystal ball once more, Astra Held out her hands, eyes glowing as she tried to channel her FEAR into the object and chant some more words
"Crystal ball, you came so close
But you fell short by a hair.
Perhaps if I'm more specific this time
Who had tampered with the stairs?

"Oh! I remember now, I think," Chaya said. She put a hand to her stomach. "I feel kinda sick ... I was checking the rug for scents and I smelled something ... it was kind of sweet and sharp and rotten, like the jars you save dead things in." She smiled woozily at them. "Thank you for helping me."

Willow couldn't help but snicker at Israfel, "I don't think my date's interested, but if I had another lambit I would. Poor dears." She glanced over to where Kiwi was before shrugging, "It's nice of you to be concerned for others."
She then turned back to Astra. "Oh, so it does respond." She paused, "Maybe magic spells are a little too... complex? What about a simple question?" Despite the other having chanted a 'spell'. Willow walked up to the ball and looked at it for a moment."Crystal Ball, who's the fairest of them all?" Okay maybe Willow could've asked a better question, but... A test run, was a test run. Her tail twitched as she watched it. Though while she asked she waved her hands over it a bit.[sn: LP]

Astra walked away from the safe. She gave up on it.
Despite the safe slowly creaking open directly after she'd cracked it.
When the safe opened, there was a puff of dust, and when the dust settled, the contents of the safe were visible.
There were several stacks of silver seeds, and documents that looked highly important. But as soon as the documents were touched, they would disintegrate. They were clearly very old.
There was a small sketched portrait, the lines barely visible - it looked like a woman lying on a lounge chair. She might have been naked at some point but it was impossible to tell from the smudges on the painting. She was, however, definitely wearing a giant blue diamond on her neck. And her hair looked.. suspiciously tentacle like.
But the main event was the giant, glowing orb sitting on a very expensive looking pillow in the middle of the safe. Since Astra had walked away, it seemed those who had managed to help crack the safe were all close enough to try to reach out for it.

 The fog sparked within the crystal ball. For a moment, it looked as if a needle and thread could be seen, but apparently getting chewed on might have damaged it a bit as the image quickly faded. As for the other question it received, it just reflected whoever was speaking.The box was gone, having been the bomb to blast Brutus away. Eisheth moved from the picture frame to examine the stairs closely. Looks like it has been recently moved? Or were they just broken?
Seems that her decision to leave the picture wasn't exactly correct: students kept examining the wall, and it appears they have found a hidden safe beneath the picture. Were they able to unlock it? Eisheth was almost sure she heard a loud CRACKLE. Though, the alchemist wasn't particularly interested in hidden treasures of Amityville, it wasn't worth being distracted from what occupied her mind: the murder mystery.
Gnomes, almost all of them, the dragon boil, the vice president of the council were missing: as much as she despised the gnomes, she realized both Junko and Jericho were among the oldest and the most skilled students... they shouldn't be an easy target. And there were still a couple of things that bothered her, a couple of very important things they all were missing...

Heidla shrugged her shoulders. Things were definitely getting out of hand - bombs, scattered remnants, questions, questions. Distressed with her inability to solve the mystery, she just peered into the crystal ball, trying to force its pictures out - just like so many others did.
Then another shiny object attracted her attention - and she reached her hand for the orb that was found among the contents of the black box.

Tyshina had listened to the clues and questions being asked. While she hadn't much these past few times, she was intensely listening. All of the clues and things seen were whirling in her head. Just the main reason she didn't understand was why someone would do this.
Were they maybe unhappy about the prom or did they want to be in charge or was it something completely different? Either way the murderer was still out there and she wanted to at least lend a little hand in helping discover who had done what. So she slowly made her way over to the Fireplace Rug to inspect it deeply, not many had looked at this but she figured it may hold something. Since they couldn't get into the fire, maybe the hug held some sort of clue as to why the person didn't want them in there.
While she looked at it her eyes were full of curiosity and wonder. Questions whirling around her head, with each close look she took. ((sn: chihonda))
