Flying at breakneck speeds, way high over the land, Ninjask made a bee-line straight for the Gabron Ruins, remembering it clearly from when he was a Nincada still. In fact, it was the place he evolved and it was a fond place for him. Buzzing harshly like a miniature chainsaw, Ninjask called in chances that it caught someone's attention down below. Zipping here and there, speed was the name of the game - flying up, down, backwards, and sideways - no pokemon from this world could truly match a Ninjask's sheer speed.

It didn't take him long to follow the tracks that lead him to Des. Buzzing right at the trainer, Ninjask came to a hover in front of the man. Transferring the note from his back legs to pinch them with his front legs, he waited to be allowed to deliver his letter from Nolan.

Pretty much it said, I'm sorry that I left so quickly. That Yamask would NOT leave me alone, and chased me back to Route 1. Ran into Chael, he caught an Eevee, and now we're heading through the desert while it's still dark. Send back a note with Ninjask? He knows where I'll be - Addobe. Hopefully by morning. Thanks, Nolan. P.S. I have something for you if you're in the area again.

As Blue went back to digging, something approached Des. It was a Lunatune. Oh damn... not good. He didn't take the anti-psychotics today. "Blue!" shouted Des, one hand already going towards his head as he braced for a Psychic attack.

The Discharge Pokemon, finding nothing, immediately spun around dropped a Thunderwave onto the Moon-shaped Pokemon, stunning it. Wick also jumped in, firing off a Hex to deal some serious damage to the space rock. The Paralysis managed to keep it from doing anything, so after a Bite and another Hex, the Lunatune was out. Des sunk to his knees, breathing heavily. That was too close. Way too close. After taking some time to catch his breath, he reached into his cloak for the medicine and flask of water to wash it all down. Blue walked over to his Trainer, nuzzling him.

"Thanks..." he said weakly, petting the wolf.

In the morning, Des returned to dig. He had a good feeling about today, and he would probably swing over to Addobe later on to check on the two kids. They were making an astoundingly quick progress through the Pokemon League, which meant that they were somewhat decent Trainers, right?

Heh... it was good that he waited for them to grow in their potential. It was going to make it all the more enjoyable to crush them. Granted, he had already defeated Nolan and barely broke a sweat, so maybe he needed to wait a little longer. And even if his skills were supposedly on par with the eighth gym, his Pokemon certainly weren't up to snuff for that. Well, it couldn't be helped. If it weren't for that damn incident, he would have had his old team and then he would have been truly unstoppable.

Too late now, he supposed.

He had let Blue out to dig, so he figured this would be a good time to check on the wolf's progress. And would you look at that, Blue already found a Leaf Stone. He gave the Discharge Pokemon some pets before pocketing the item.

This time Blue found a... what the hell was this? Some sort of... disc? Des truthfully had no idea what it was, but there was the 'made in Kanto' tag on the bottom of the box. Must have been a Silph Co. product. Kinda like the Upgrade. So maybe it was the Upgrade for Porygon 2 to get a Porygon Z? Porygon were located in... Deres, weren't they?

Well, even if he did have a Porygon, he needed an Upgrade to get a Porygon 2 before he could even get a Porygon Z, so the item wasn't worth it in his opinion. Nevertheless, he gave Blue a few more pets than usual for getting three items in three digs. They would then head back to town to go cash in these new items before venturing off into the desert.

The Ruins were much better. Much milder pokemon, much more familiar grounds, and Gage had even gotten a tip that a Spiritomb had been seen in the area. Those were rare and interesting pokemon. Certainly could make someone happy. Staying out of the deep caves that lead into the underground of the Ruins, Gage found a good place to camp out for a few days, laying low for once. Relatively.

Keeping an eye out for passing trainers, and passing rare pokemon, Gage let out all five of his pokemon. Five, you might ask? Houndoom was still missing, and hadn't at all come back after chasing an Illusion through the Route 5 forest. Giving his hound up for lost, there was no way that Gage alone was going to run through that forsaken place so soon. He'd just have to find help.

Meanwhile, his pokemon were hard at work. Nervous and fidgety. Yamask was looking for more items while their trainer dozed, and Raichu sat at Gage's side, never budging. Croagunk was using Trapinch as a punching bag, and the ever-smiling Eevee was curled up on Gage's feet, just napping happily as well.
