Rhys flushed a bit and shrugged he hadn't meant to get too chatty, "ah, I won't just sort of slipped out. I'll talk to Cinder though...or you can when you go to do your business. She'll need to know things and probably figure out who is going to co pilot. I can fly but I don't have any cybernetic implants so it would make hyperspace jumps harder to control." Rhys shrugged slightly when he suggested he'd be able to co pilot there was no note of cockiness in his voice, the boy knew his limitations but also that there were many things he was capable of, "you usually don't need much of a crew but...if you decide your interested it might be needed." Rhys didn't add that the rest of the crew might be added just in case they ran into something while they were there. Sypos no longer was the center of the war zone...but that didn't mean that the war had stopped.
Rhys' attention turned back to the conversation as Miranda came up again, he flushed again slightly but for entirely different reasons. "Ah, well the brew that Cinder brought was very potent...I hope she doesn't get sick." Rhys didn't really plan when it came to the opposite sex so Amon's advice he took to heart almost immediately. "That's a good idea..." considering his options Rhys started moving the mugs over to the serving tray so they could get the coffee out to the rest.
Rhys hadn't even noticed that Amon had forgotten his eye patch, the sight of the man's eye didn't particularly frighten him, there was a touch of sadness over his new friend's past pains. But truthfully, the eye wasn't worse then some of the experiments that had gone wrong...including Kevin. Thoughts of the darker parts of his past only touched on his mind for a moment causing his wings to flex in unease. Sucking a breath in the young man attempted to clear his mind, "You never said what sort of business your in..." Rhys realized as he asked that the question seemed to have gotten forgotten. He was genuinely curious, Gaia was there safe place so he wondered what it was Cinder was actually fixing her sights on.
Tek lightly prodded at the bottom of the fridge testing the strange coil looking things along the bottom of the device. How the cooling device was rigged together was another mystery that the little fiend considered. Tek actually wasn't all that good at fixing things or figuring out how exactly they worked...but sometimes xe liked to pretend. Slinking further under the fridge xyrs attention went to the light socket on the wall. Ooo... Tek had been actively trying to shield himself while he was up to mischief but as hyrs fasination grew...xe slipped and the feeling of his curiosity poured out toward the other two in the area.
Rhys suddenly realized as Tek's thoughts lightly touched his own that he'd lost sight of the ever curious and troublesome fiend, "Tek?!"
It was too late though, Tek slide a tentacle up and yanked the plug of the refrigrator from the wall. One of his other tentacles darted up and prodded the socket lightly, a surge of power from the fiend's prodings went through the house...and somewhere a breaker tripped.

“Hold your horses, young man.” Amon said as Rhys started to get head over heels plotting a trip the other hadn’t even remotely decided upon making. “I’m not going anywhere yet. I’d just like some more information on what’s possible, is all.” And, quite frankly, he really didn’t like the sound of that ‘hyperspace’ thing … “And, Miranda, I believe, has already gone way beyond the ‘getting sick’ stage.”
“As for what I do for a living …” He slid the eye-patch back into place. “I’m a professional escort. Or companion. The term differs.” He paused, wondering if Rhys even knew what it meant, considering his previous, rather innocent reactions. He’d probably get to see yet another of those blushes. Bree would like him, he couldn’t help but think. Being sensitive was a trait she very much valued. “A hired date, basically,” he clarified. “Though there really is mo-”
He paused, noticing Tek had been suspiciously quiet for the time being at about the same time his young conversation partner did. For a moment there, he found himself wondering at how strange it was, sensing the feelings of another but Nephrite … That, however, was just before the lights went out.
Amon swore under his breath, something real vicious sounding he’d picked up from Reyna. A quick glance out of the window confirmed everything outside was still as should be (and, miraculously, Miranda seemed to still live), albeit at least some seemed to have noticed lights had gone out in the house. It had been a good idea, then, to hook up lighting and everything to the generator instead of the house’s general power supply.
“There’s a flashlight in one of the drawers somewhere …” Amon mumbled, drawing his lighter and flicking it open for at least some light. As usual, his remaining eye was having trouble getting accustomed to the changed lighting conditions.

At the meantion of Miranda beyond the getting sick stage Rhys glanced out the window again, "er...a hired date." Rhys watched Amon a moment before it registered instead of a blush the first reaction was a look of confusion. Cinder and Clotho both kept prositutes as contacts on various planets, Rhys had only met one of them once on his way to Gaia and Amon looked nothing like the naked woman with metallic skin he'd met. His eyes widened a moment, he'd never considered that a male would do that sort of job, "...people pay for male -" he cut off before saying whore unsure how that would go over, clearing his throat he continued, "companionship," and then the blush came.
Luckily the lights going out caused enough of a distraction, "I don't need the flashlight," opening the pouch of his coat Rhys took a stick and cracked it causing a bright light to fill the kitchen, "never go anywhere unprepared." Frowning he looked over the counters, "Tek - where are you and what did you do?"
We are assuming you are upset at us for some reason! So we feel there is no reason to actually answer you.
Tek's mind voice called out and Rhys got the distinct feeling that the fiend was hiding. Sighing Rhys looked over to Amon, "outside looks alright, where is your generator...and your breaker box." Rhys cleared his throat - if they hadn't had the same problems back at the estate with Tek he likely wouldn't have even known what a breaker box was, "Tek can have...interesting effects on electronics," turning Rhys attempted to mentally tug on the fiend trying to figure out where xe was hiding, "Tek now, your coming with us to fix whatever you did."
Why is it that we are always so unfairly persecuted,Tek's voice was sullen as the young fiend slinked from beneath the refrigerator and settled in front of it attempting to look innocent. The twitching of xyrs tail tentacles ruined any illusion of innocence rather quickly.

Merci had a death grip on Algie's arm. Her green eyes widened when she saw Athan walking over toward them. It took her a heart pounding second to get herself under control. She quickly managed a smile and a half-hearted wave. She couldn't fight the automatic reactions though, and slight goosebumps raised themselves on her arm as she tried to act casual. "Good evening Athan. I'm surprised you're here. Where's Hawk?"
Babble. There it was, her nervous habit of tittering and gabbing like a schoolgirl. This man was seriously intimidating to her.
What was this? Oh how fiendish! Dio could hardly contain his utter excitement. It practically rolled off of him in waves. He kept his arms wrapped around the Athan man and could barely control a giggle. Not only could he go to his library, but he could see Merci's tail start to bristle.
This was so much fun he could hardly stand it. The black fiend was nearly purring in happy anticipation of what was about to happen.
Vance leaned against the fence and lowered himself into a more comfortable reclining position. He was only half paying attention to the two sitting nearby. One could tell just by looking at him that he was holding an internal monologue, bemoaning the fact that he was probably going to have to clean up a party he didn't even want to come to in the first place.
Sulfur trailed after Obli before she lost interest. She was feeling a bit tired but didn't want to return to Vance. Instead she made her way over toward Merci. The woman wasn't her host, but she was near enough and would let her rest in her jacket pocket.
Her blue flames licked the air lazily as she floated around behind Algie and bumped into Merci's other arm.
The kitsune's ears flattened out and her attention was drawn momentarily to Sully. Her face creased with a frown and she sighed a bit. Her free hand moved and scooped the little wisp into her breast pocket.
Sully wiggled around and her flames peeked out. They moved around like little feelers, or oddly shaped antenna.

Tilting her head to glance at Nell, Coal succeeded in getting her to flatten and twitch her ears. Trivii grinned in a brief flash of pointed teeth.
"Is it Respect or Fear?"
Ducking under the bench in a swirl of shadows and back out again. Like a game of peak-a-boo.

Theirn turned his attention to the cat girl, a grin twitched onto his lips again and he flashed a bit of fang in return to Trivii, "that depends on why your being bitten, can't argue with a good bite here and there." His voice came out in an amused tone. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of Vance standing not to far from them, " 'lo there - don't think we've met."
Coal dropped! And then at the last moment the glittery bit of wisp disappeared under the bench away from him. The dark wisp dropped down lower then Nell once he lost sight of her. Spinning in a bit of confusion he attempted to figure out where the other wisp had gone.

Moving as slow as a caterpillar the orange wisp came up behind Coal.
Arching an eyebrow at the faintly suggestive tone, Trivii didn't say anything as her gaze shifted, like Theirn's to examine Vance, a little weary that she hadn't heard his approach.

Vance tilted his head toward Theirn, lifting his hand up to pull his top hat off. He dusted off the brim and put it back on his pink haired head. "We've not met before." His blindfold was secure over his eyes, and it gave the impression he couldn't see. "My name is Vance. I've been forced to take Sulfur, so I'm here as her guardian." His body bunched and gathered itself before he slithered a bit closer to the duo. "My wisp is over there." The medusa jerked his head toward the kitsune who was talking to Athan. Despite what he had been thinking before, he was being pretty nice. After all it wasn't these people's fault he was going to get abandoned here with people he didn't know, and probably going to get forced to help clean up the mess that was being made. "Didn't mean to interrupt your conversation." His body came to rest near their bench, though it seemed he was perfectly comfortable coiling himself on the ground and leaning against the fence.

Coal spun one way and then the next but didn't look directly behind himself at first attempting to figure out which way Nell had gone. Finally the dark wisp spun fully and his aura flared out in surprise finding Nell directly behind him!
Theirn met Trivii's gaze as she looked over and his grin widened faintly before he turned his attention back toward the Medusa. " 'tis alright, truth be told might be for the best - the interruption that is. Not lookin' ta get bit tonight after all." Theirn's gaze went over to the burning wisp not far off, "ah, I haven't met your wisp yet...but I recognize the fox. Ya said you were forced?" He raises his brow some looking toward the snake man curiously, "found Coal by chance myself."

Amon quirked a brow as he glanced at the glow stick, wordlessly putting the lighter back into its usual place. It was amusing how the boy struggled to figure out girls, but otherwise seemed to be prepared for all eventualities and worst case scenarios and was acting surprisingly adult. “Breaker box is in the hallway,” he said, indicating the direction with a nod of his head.

Rhys nodded toward Amon, "Tek get out here, I want you to go outside and make sure if anyone notices the lights out that they know everything is alright." As long as he kept moving and was able to give at least Tek orders it helped to keep Rhys from letting the noise and confusion overtake him, the dark was always one of the worst times for that.
We are not messengers! Tek attempted to pull xemself up a bit as xe spoke to Rhys. A quick testing of emotions revealed his guardian's agitation. But this time we will do as you ask. Sliding quickly outside Tek escaped the darkness created by his antics, the little fiend's attention looked over the party but at the moment it didn't appear as if anyone was worried or had noticed the house. Considering what to do next xyrs attention went toward Miranda, darting down along the ground the fiend moved toward the girl, Rhys had become attached to her like the other which made her a prime target for the tentacled fiend.
"Know much about your breaker box?" Turning a little Rhys looked back toward Amon, his eyes flickering to the darkness beyond the light a moment. "This place looks pretty modern so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Our place tends to be cranky, it's all pretty old and has been refurbished and built upon so it's pretty nice but the wiring is old." Moving toward the hall Rhys used the light to move in front of him, spotting a panel on the nearby wall he moved over to it.

A flash of glittering orange and a whirl of shadows, that could only be mirth spilled from the bright little wisp as she appeared to slap a tendril at Coal, much like a five year old.
You're It!
Almost vibrated from the little one as she dashed back into a flowering shrub.
Camouflage.
Covering her mouth for an instant, her eyes crinkled slightly at the corners as she exchanged the glance with Theirn. Before shuffling her opal eyes back to the Medusa and flicking her hand through her shorn pale hair, and again lifting her burger.
"No, Theirn I understand, Nell sort of threw herself at me while I was shopping with Mystic.... But I don't think that's quite what... Vance right?" Continuing and interrupting herself with her own question she continued, "Meant."
Taking a bite she leaned back on the bench and studied the new comer... Hunter or Prey?
"I am Trivii, this is Theirn." The introduction was pried from her lips by good manners, but she wasn't going to offer more.

“Not a thing, actually,” Amon admitted openly upon Rhys’ question. “Basically only where it is, and to look for the breakers that are down after stuff happened – like the thunderstorm recently – and flip them back up.” There was probably more to it, but that was what one hired electricians for. “The house is pretty new, don’t let the overall state of the garden fool you. Seems the house was tended to while vacant, but the garden was pretty much left to its own devices. Not quite sure what was going on in B- the landlady’s mind.”
He noticed the other’s obvious unease, but chose to ot comment on it. People in robes and wielding magic turned his knees into jelly. Fear of darkness was something much more commonplace.

Rhys nodded slightly and turned the light down the hall, it was strange the darkness hadn't bothered him so much until recently; Clotho had surmised that some of the longer lasting drugs that he'd been pumped with had finally left his system - drugs that repressed psychological trauma. Rhys had told her he didn't want her to find him new ones but as his light hit the hall and for a moment he saw pale flesh in the form of a person and he thought of Cecilia ... maybe he should get that medicine. The color in his face drained and by the time he made it to the panel on the wall his face quite literally looked like he'd seen a ghost, "It shouldn't take too long to get the lights up and running, it likely is just a breaker issue." There was a tug at the boy's voice for a moment and he cleared his throat going to pop the panel open.
Luckily the light stick was big enough that he could keep it clipped to his belt and get a good look at the breakers within, luckily they even seemed to be labelled.

The medusa folded his arms across his chest. He turned his head toward the garden, where the party was going on. Why did it seem darker all of a sudden? Vance reached up and adjusted his blindfold a little, making sure that it wasn't on wrong. "Forced. My friend Merci thought she would play a joke on me. She picked up a chunk of sulfur, thinking she would scare me by making me think she was giving me a fiend. Funny thing is she really did. Odd how practical jokes backfire huh?" His voice had a resigned note to it.
He turned his face back toward them. The way he moved his head indicated that he could indeed see through the blindfold somehow. "Tried to return it. Turns out those little buggers kinda attach themselves to your soul, and if you try and get rid of them there are 'dire consequences'. So yeah, forced is a good way to put it I think." Vance seemed good at glowering, and when he was done speaking he did just that. "But it's nice to meet you." He added that toward Trivii, at least his manners were still intact.
