Trinity looked at Valerick, "Actually Sir Valerick, Helios is a male pegasus. They are rare but it does happen occasionally that a male will except a rider." Trinity guided Helios' head closer to Nuo's quivering hand. "Don't worry he won't bite. He's like a horse... albeit a horse with big wings." Trinity laughed at her own joke. Helios sniffed Nuo's hand and nuzzled against it letting out a soft noise of content. "He Likes you! Good boy Helios!"
Lloyd smiled while Trinity talked to Nuo. He turned to Valerick and Alex and said, "Are there any good inns you recommend? Also, we are quite new to Eyris so we do not know the area as well as others do, do you have a map of the town? Also, where do we report and what are we looking out for while on duty? I am not accustomed to being a guard. I did... mercenary work back home to raise money." Lloyd mentally cursed himslef for almost revealing his job as an assassin.

Not what you were expecting, was I?
-David-
[SINCE NO ONE BOTHERED TO RESCUE DAVID] Sophie, seeing her master in trouble, did the only thing she knew to do: she stepped on his foot, gently enough not to break anything, but hard enough to snap him out of it.
"OUCH!" David shouted, instinctively clutching his foot. He had to hop to keep his balance. Sophie moved forward to steady him; he grabbed her saddle. When the pain in his foot slowed to a throb, he told the mare, "Thanks, Sophie. But ow."
Gingerly, David walked forward, not completely paying attention to where he was going.. Due to the pain in his foot, however, he stumbled a few times. One of those times, he happened to stumble into someone, a man with dark hair also pulled back in a horsetail.
"I'm sorry!" David said immediately. "I'm sorry; I wasn't watching where I was going and I'm not sure where I need to go, I'm just trying to find a job here, and I--I'm sorry!" He snapped his mouth shut, realizing that he was starting to ramble for one, and for another, had spoken more than he probably ought the have. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -Nomadic Shaman-

 [===] By The Knight's Call [===] [===] Valerick Seredes [===]
Valerick laughed a little and then smiled. "Well. That is an interesting thing to know." Valerick looks back over at Lloyd and then begins to think for a bit. One of his build and personality wouldn't do really good on gate guard duty because that is usually better left to the heavy guards like the Knights and Generals. However, he would most likely fit the role of being a guard within the castle. As a trained swordsman, he would be able to move around better through the halls and fight better than the more heavily armored units or the ones trained for horseback fighting. However, Trinity would be better out amongst the area above or near the walls. Being on a pegasus, she would be able to handle the patrols high above the castle and city along with the other pegasus guards. "Well, I am sure Alex here could give you a map. If he doesn't have one, you can get one from the central booth here at the fair. Of course, you will always report to the GuardHouse. As for what you would be looking out for, well, anyone who looks suspicious or anyone not wearing our colors."

Nuo's hand continued to shake up until the point where Helios rubbed up against her hand. Her entire body shivered for just a few moments and then she and her heart calmed down. She slowly began to run her hand down the front of Helios' head. The soft feeling she got while doing so just made her feel really happy inside. "Heh heh. I guess he does." To think that she would now be working with someone as nice as her and closer to her age than most made her smile. Someone she could actually relate to.

 Bump.
A sudden crash into him made Lance stumble a bit backwards. Letting go of his newest recruits, he grunted a bit. "Hm?"
Facing forward, he saw a young man apologizing profusely, much in the way a scaredy-cat would do in the face of a rough looking gangster. It was insulting Lance at this point. Did he really look that scary and violent?
I oughta punch him in the face to teach him a lesson.
Wait, no, that wasn't it. Maybe he could get another recruit this way.
...although, why he would want a person that pissed himself by just bumping into someone was beyond him. In fact, maybe it would be better to just ignore hi--
--> NO. BAD LANCE. RECRUIT THE NICE MAN. ALSO BUY HIM DINNER.
Wait, actually, recruiting him sounded like a great idea. And why not buy him some dinner while being at it?
Hang on, what?
Cactus, did you say anything? Nnnnnnnope....oh well.
He put on the kindest smile he could. "Oh, don't worry about it, good man! Accidents do happen, after all! I could see you stumbling about, so of course there was a reason it happened! In fact, are you alright? Are you hurt somewhere?"
Lance stretched out his hand to greet the newcomer. Maybe this was fate, after all.*******************

"I'm telling you, I don't know what's going on-" "Bah! A little runt like you is just getting in the way! Either go off and find something to do, or go back home and stay out of the way! This here is an important event, and we don't need snot-nosed brats like you running around! Sprouting all sorts of nonsense...When I was your age-"
And so this was the hell he had been subjected to. Old man ramblings! The b*****d...And the pupil thought he had heard enough from Saleh! Was he forever doomed to be subjected to this sort of punishment? What had he done that was so horrible? So down right devious that he deserved this? ..Sure, there had been that time he set the entire west wing on fire by accident...Not to mention when he dropped Saleh's Gazing Orb and replaced it with a giant fake pearl...Alright! So he had some ********, but nothing to do deserve this! Please! Forgiveness! To any such goddess this place had! Forgiveness!
And there it was! The miracle he had been wishing for, answered in the form of the last person he expected to see. Joshua! It...It was a shock for sure! If he had been anyone else, he would have declared it impossible. But this was Ewan, pupil of Saleh. He had crossed the boundary of space and time itself, helped strike down the Demon King himself, braved the teachings of Saleh, and even conquered his childhood fear of ducks! Anything was possible to him! Though it was a relief to see him...There had been reports of the disappearance of the royal some time ago. Ewan had simply figured that he was satisfied with the reconstruction of his country and went off to travel again. Never the type to stay still, that Joshua. ...Then again, the friends he had attempted to stay and contact with were vanishing...Had this realm been their fate? Was this still the same Joshua?
But the way that Joshua handled the situation, just oozing charisma that the youth wish he could just shovel onto himself, was astounding! It was enough to wave way any doubts the boy had. Soon, the man was striding off with a low grumble...Leaving Ewan there, standing in complete awe as his eyes shone. The boy had a habit of idolizing the older members of the group, which seemed to have carried onto his older years.
"Uwaaaah...So cool..."

Not what you were expecting, was I?
-David-
He was going to get punched in the face, he was absolutely certain of it. He was going to be smacked and the man he'd bumped into was going to get mad and hit him and punch him in the face--
"Oh, don't worry about it, good man!"
. . . What?
"Accidents do happen, after all!"
What?
"I could see you stumbling about, so of course there was a reason it happened!"
What?
"In fact, are you alright?"
What?
"Are you hurt somewhere?" The man reached out his hand to David.
. . . This man must be a saint. Or brain damaged. David wasn't entirely sure which. Hesitantly, David extended his hand to shake the man's--he thought this was the proper custom. "U-um, n-no, I'm not hurt, not really," he said. "Sophie--my horse--she just stepped on my foot," he added in a murmur, "that's all."
He really wasn't sure if this wasn't a dream. Not that he was complaining he hadn't been hit--yet--but it was still strange, and this man hadn't even yelled at him. Perhaps this was a good sign.
". . . Actually, um. . . ." He cleared his throat before trying again. "I'm kind of . . . um--" He glanced at Sophie, eyes screaming help, but the mare ignored him, instead twitching her tail. David looked back at the man. ". . . I'm David," he said rather lamely. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -Nomadic Shaman-

The flustered man was still having a hard time keeping it together. Was Lance really that intimidating? Maybe he should wear a monocle, take away the edge off him.
"David, huh?"
Lance smiled broadly to camouflage his inner thoughts. "I'm Lance. Lance Dartel. My friends here and I was about to go get something to eat. Care to join us? You look like you haven't eaten properly for a while."
Just weave it into the conversation later. He would get another recruit this day.

→ [ BLOSSOM RIDDICKS] ← "Every story has its scar..." Blossom beamed to Lance at his greeting, otherwise watching him as he interacted with the black-haired newcomer. It was definitely expected to see someone else arrive, but seeing him so shy around them broke her heart. They didn't look scary, did they? She didn't even have her sword with her! Blossom tucked a long fringe of hair behind her ear and beamed at David, giving him an open-palmed wave. "My name's Blossom. This is Derrin Hasstorn." She pointed to the sour-faced redhead next to her before smiling again at David. "There are lots of good restaurants around here, too. I work at one of them, actually. Perhaps we can show you around there? The owners are really nice, too!" The Hero tried to make her smile as warm and as welcoming as she could, folding her arms neatly behind her back. "We'd love to have you join us." "...and every scar has its story." → [ALTRUSTIC HERO] ←

Not what you were expecting, was I?
-David-
So the brain-damaged saint was Lance and the two with him were Blossom and Derrin. David wasn't sure about this Derrin; he looked scary, mean even. Blossom, on the other hand, seemed nice; she smiled brightly at him. David wasn't sure who scared him the most--those who smiled the widest could also hit the hardest.
But Lance had mentioned food. Brain damaged or no, Lance was right--David hadn't eaten anything since yesterday because he'd been too nervous this morning to stomach anything. Even though he was still nervous now, perhaps even moreso, he was absolutely starving.
"Food sounds amazing," he blurted. "Um, that is, i-if you don't mind me joining you all, I mean."
Blossom had mentioned working at one of the restaurants. Maybe during the meal he could ask her--or any of the three, really--if she knew where he might be able to find a job that would suit him. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -Nomadic Shaman-

Things had been quiet ever since Rebecca had traveled with Lord Eliwood, Lord Hector, and Lady Lyndis on their quest to prevent the Dark Druid Nergal from letting dragons back into Elibe. She had definitely improved her archery skills on that journey, having even learning how to string a bow properly. She had said farewell to the noblemen, and had headed back home to see her father once again.
No matter how hard she had tried, Rebecca just couldn't shake that feeling that she was missing something ever since she returned to her village. She had loved traveling across the vast continent of Elibe, hunting for the crew (especially Merlinus), and sightseeing as they went. Rebecca had found her place in the world, and that was as a traveler.
Or it would have been, had she not been approached by Lance Dartel, who had taken an interest in the young woman. Rebecca had been all too willing to accept, since there was one thing that was more important to her than traveling, and that was protecting the helpless.
Rebecca waved to the newcomer, smiling brightly at him from behind Lance. "I wouldn't mind, the more the merrier, right?"

They were becoming quite the crowd! Counting Rebecca (who had obviously been there the entire time), their lunch group had risen to six people all in all!
"Then it's decided. Come along, everyone, let's have a great lunch, and learn more about eachother!"
Lance was beaming now. Things were moving along just the way he wanted it to.

Myrrh Location: Eyris In another world? Myrrh let the notion sink in a moment. It was no wonder Ephraim had not found his way back, they were far more than simply not on Magvel. She clutched at the brooch of her cloak as she began to answer the long lost kings question.
"I- I guess something similar happened to me. I was returning to my home in Darkling Woods and when I opened my door I simply stepped through and found myself here." The recounting brought back thoughts that she had been wondering only a little over an hour before. "Saleh and everyone in the mountain village are alright, and Eirika is doing her best to rebuild Renais. She came to visit and left last week, though she looks more and more exhausted with each visit. Especially since the the battle with the Mage Lords in Rausten..." Myrrh's purple eyes had become half closed in concentration as her worries came back to her. Suddenly she started, gazing back up at Ephraim once more. "I am glad we've found each other here, so much has happened while you have been gone." Memories again began to play across her minds eye and the girl's voice drifted off.

Joshua smirked in satisfaction as the stranger walked off, turning his attention back on the boy his smirk turned into a more friendly smile, the swordmaster glanced around to see if anyone else he recognized had shown up with the boy, "Ewan, is Saleh with you? Or Tethys?" Joshua noticed the glowing adoration the boy showed in his eyes he was actually a bit taken aback "You alright there Ewan?". Ewan had always been a bit of an odd bird, and what was with that fear of ducks? Joshua knew however that dispite his diminutive stature, his quirky personality and his amazing talent for screwing up simple spells that the boy was a skilled combatant.
He sighed adjusting his hat, "You've probably got a lot of questions I bet, shoot."

Alex was a bit surprised but Valerick's sudden implcation that he'd probably have a map on him. "A map you say..." he trailed off as he looked around the stall to possibly find a map. Course, he already knew those chances were low. After a couple more second he stopped and faced Lloyd and Valerick. "Sorry," he said shaking his head.

Truth be told, this was kind of an awkward reunion. Who knows how long Ephraim had been gone..but judging by the look of relief on Myrrh's face...quite some time it seems. He thought for a moment, wondering how Eirika was holding up back at the castle. How was Grado? The villagers? Renais? He hadn't given this much thought since he had been in Learania this entire time, titles didn't matter here.
"Tell me about them" Ephraim asked out of curiosity. He wanted to know how much time has passed and what has happened during his absence and how everything was since the war.
