Another light flickered precariously, just up ahead.
The Starmie's amber glow illuminated Tethys, holding a wide-eyed Deimos' hand. "We should keep moving," she advised.

"Right," Aulus nodded, "I say we go around the pit, that path looks most well trodden. I'll bring up the rear." Why had he just volunteered the bring up the rear? The guy bringing up the rear always died, usually first. Well he'd gone and said it now so he wasn't going to back out, and somebody had to do it.

Keeping moving sounded like a good idea. She didn't have any flying pokemon, so it looked like she didn't really have an option but to take that path, as horribly uninviting as it seemed. Waving for Umbreon to go first so he might light the way for her, knowing he was more agile, he would be fine. she moved after him. watching where she was stepping in the dull yellow light.

Orion just rolled his eyes as he followed along. Really, these guys needed to take a chill pill. And he was bored, extremely so. These Rockets were not any fun at all.
Hands folded behind his head and that look of boredom on his face, Orion didn't so much as flinch as the lights went out.
Although somebody, of the female influence, might have felt a pinch on their butt.

It wouldn't really help her see, but Nyx released her Zubat to perch on her other shoulder, opposite of Darwin. He could at least see where she was going and would hopefully let her know if she was about to walk in to something. Nyx didn't say much as she followed the group, concentrating on walking as close to Faleen as she could.

If that path collapsed, Aila would injure someone. Possibly herself, though that would be less intentional than if she injured anyone else. The cave was just messing around with them for giggles. Maybe there was a hidden film crew or something. Perhaps one of the individuals in attendance was a beacon for foul luck.
Regardless of the cause, it seemed they were moving forward. With a deep sigh, she started forward carefully, hand remaining at Pitre's pokeball. When the path collapsed - because it was essentially given that it would, at this point - Aila didn't want to be the one to test how far it was to the bottom.

Teeth were ground. "Orion. I will throw you in the pit."
Ice frosted on every syllable, Tethys led her fearless leader down the well-traveled path along the pit edge.
Here the walls were somehow orderly yet jagged, as if an Onix had eaten its way through the mountain and humans had come along later to prop things up with beams like toothpicks and hang lights along the way. The temperature was cool, but not cold - they were far under the earth here, and the air had a heavy, dead scent. The path curved, around a bulge in the rock and out of sight.
One of the dead lights flicked on, revealing a small object on the ground as the group neared.

Umbreon tilted his head when he glanced up to see something laying on the ground ahead. "Breon." He voiced, not looking away from it.
Once off the path, Faleen looked up, stepping out of the way of others that followed. Catching sight of the light ahead and at what Umbreon was trying to get attention onto. "Nyx" She said, nodding her head forward as she continued over to see what it was.

He would not deny his actions, and just grinned. "I love it when you get angry, Tethys!" The green haired fool scurrying along to get out of firing range so that he didn't leave the cave half mangled.
His Lucario again just shook his head and followed.

Claire followed the others while sticking relatively near Aulus, preferring the back of the group so she could keep an eye on Tethys. At least there were working lights up ahead, and a... something? What was that?
She wasn't the only curious one, and the Pikachu on her shoulder tilted his head before jumping down, dashing over to it before he paused a couple feet away to sniff at it a bit. It didn't smell like chocolate, which was incredibly disappointing - he'd been hoping for some for a while now - but that still left the whatever it was as a mystery, and he wanted to know what it was.

Oh, so there was the pressure switch that would activate the explosives lined along the mine's stress points the second it was touched, hmm? ...Well, perhaps that was a bit too cynical. Maybe it was actually something pleasant. Some sort of rare gem, or a pokeball containing a rare pokemon.
Hah.

At the back as he was, all Aulus could tell was the some of the others had spotted something on the ground. There wasn't really enough space for all of them to crowd around whatever it was at once and so the scarred man hung back a short distance, casting around for any sign of approaching beasties or giant mechanical Ariados... Wait, Galactic was already here, so being attacked by oversized novelty robots was probably off the cards at the very least. Thank goodness for small mercies?

Deimos flinched at the abrupt light, though he relaxed at no longer being in the dark. His attention twitched to Faleen abruptly and he leaned at Tethys to whisper, "Her name is Nyx!" As though his second in command had been dying to know.

The thing was wrinkled. It was ancient. It clearly had once been a living thing. It lay on the ground like a very obscene prune.
Beside it, shriveled and dessicated in its ziplock bag, was a sandwich.
A short distance away, a battered plastic lunch cooler had tipped open on the ground.

Zeus spotted the lunch cooler and immediately made a bee-line for it, sniffing it all over for signs of chocolate. The fact it was incredibly old didn't even occur to him. If it had chocolate, it was the most amazing thing ever. It would be like finding buried treasure, like.. like.... Chocolate coins!
Claire didn't seem the least bit perturbed by the Pikachu's behavior, still walking near Aulus.
