Eric Halen
Your Fortune awaits
---------------------------

Now that he was in the castle gate, all Eric had to do was be very casual yet secretive about following the pair that had entered the castle. The biggest problem was getting inside the castle without being notice, and more importantly, following the two men without anyone taking notice of him. It would indeed be a task and a half.

While Eric was hiding behind the little bush, he saw that the fair princess herself had come down to greet the two men. Eric started to wonder who those people were, and how important they really were. Eric watched as they left, contemplating and planning. He was scheming, trying to think of the best way to get in. If he said that he was with them anymore, the guards would probably escort Eric straight to the princess and the pair, something that wouldn't end very well for Eric. If Eric said that he had a meeting with the princess, the royal figure would be notified, and then state that it's not true. Eric would be thrown out or arrested. The security was too high for Eric to pretend to be a servant, and he was to weak to fight off even one guard. Since they always seemed to be in pairs, Eric felt that violence wasn't going to solve anything either. He was going to have to be sneaky and skillful about it.

Eric left his hiding spot, and started for the castle entrance. He went down the path leading to the grand doors. There were guards there, and they asked Eric what he was doing. "I'm here to see.... Uh... The cook!" He lied. One of the guards nodded, and went to fetch the cook. Now there was only one guard there. Eric waited for the parting guard to leave view, and then came up with a way to get past the first. "It's actually really important, so I think I shall follow him to the kitchen." His psychic influenced helped to trick the guard, since there was only one to trick. Eric slipped away, trying to find his way to the study. It was good that Eric was good at eavesdropping. He searched around for a while, and by divine providence, he found a door with voices coming from it. As he listened, one voice resembled the princess. Eric stood by the door, listening to the conversation.

Selael
The Pyromancer

The Pyromage shrugged lightly. He was disappointed, but at the same time, it wasn't something he found entirely unexpected. The King wouldn't have hesitated to put a person who's dedicated his life to Aden to use. This Princess, though, Phoenix or not, was already confiding in those who seem to believe themselves to be greater enough than he to condescend him each chance they got, or so he perceived... But he'd be able to show what power he had soon enough... The time when whoever wished to take the feather for themselves would try and make their move to go after it... It would be then that his power would finally be put to use... That all would be released.

But now, he lies in wait, ever patient, ever waiting... The man was like a volcano, with a chamber buried far beneath him churning with burning anger, hatred, and frustration in a continuous tumult of rage kept far beneath the earth, until it shakes the very foundation of the world and bursts forth in an inferno that wipes out everything around it... Yes, this was very much the manner in which he lived, saving all the rage and destructive power for the day when his objective is to be completed.

"If you insist." He would continue waiting for that day when the tumult of emotion buried inside him would be released and incinerate that which deserves to be burned away.

Dadrik
The Phantom blaze

Dadrik Cocked his eye at Beatrix's reaction. He wanted to give some kind of sarcastic remark but decided against it. " Well I don't mean You'll be able to keep up, but your eyes. So that if anything happens you can at least have a chance to react." he told her as his flame continued to burn on his arms. " And we have to get your body tough enough to withstand your flame. We will do that by having you strengthen it as well as get you used to my flame. Now, you've seen my energy flow so you know what your looking for. Since you personally have seen it, can use that to see where I am when I'm moving fast. It can also help you see where I'm going. But you have to focus on it. As everything it takes time to fully get it down. So you will eventually be able to do this mid battle. Meaning once you can fallow me, you will be able to use your eyes to follow people like me. Even those who are slightly slower you'll follow easier. Your eyes will be your counter." Dadrik's body then flickered from that spot, then showed up several yards away to Beatrix's left side. But before his body fully was notice able his body flickered again showing up on the opposing side of her. This was the first time Dadrik actually fully used his speed infront of her. His body flickered from place to place to place. This continuing on for multiple times. Each one left what looked like a body of him but one which could easily be seen through. A body shadow of sorts. But then, his actual body flickered once again, and he showed up infront of Beatrix. His arm stretched infront of him and to his side. Cocked back as if he was going to attack. "Don't hesitate!" He said giving her a fair chance to duck before he started to swipe his hand across. Of course if she didn't move, he would stop instantly.

Maarick
The Emerald Reaper

Maarick nodded as the princess told her His brother would be of use. As she turned toward Selael, he smiled a bit. He felt he wanted this opportunity hence why he stepped right up. The 'if you insist' was a bit of a cover up it seemed to him. As she asked him to stay and help he just watched. " Yes, your spell would be greatly helped. But what if someone is able to withstand the fire? So we will take extra precautions. When your done, I'll have My brother put a second barrier on inside your's, around the feather. As a last resort. But that's only in case they somehow get past your trap. It is good option and a great idea." he said giving Selael a slight bow. Maarick turned toward the door and started to walk toward it. Stopping right infront of the door, he placed his hands on the handles. " If you wish to speak to me again, I won't be far. " He looked over his shoulder and looked to the princes. The wind started to flow around her neck until something started to form. A light emerald colored crystal crescent moon formed into a elegant necklace. "If you wish to Speak to me again or need help in any way my lady Phoenix, Rip it from your neck." He said with a nod then turning and walking out the door. " Take care of the princess Selael." He said not in a demanding tone, but one as if he was asking. He then vanished from they're view.

Selael
The Pyromancer

He replied to Maarick's request. "Very well." He looked over to the Princess, but did not let his gaze linger on her for long... He seemed to have a way of unnerving people with his stoic qualities. Selael flipped through his pyromancy tome... Though, he remembered he did have his own particular method of the use of Flame magic. However, this was a method that had not been put to use since the last thief he hunted down and slew. The Pyromancer then looked to the page he was looking at earlier... He examined it closely.

It turned out that the Fire Ward he noted was actually part of a much larger spell... Oculus ex Ignus. As he read on through it... The construction of this spell was very complex and required the protection of that ward in order to complete, as it took a very long time to complete. However... Once finished, the damage it would do would be cataclysmic... A most fascinating spell, especially if the foe in question was deep in the council of the Kingdom... His forces could be wiped out in one blow. However, it would be unwise to perform this spell in the city...

"Interesting..." The Pyromancer could barely contain his fascination at the spell in question. He shut the tome though, not letting anyone else see that it may be a most... Destructive spell.

Beatrix's ears lowered as Dadrik's body started to move at such a fast pace. Her eyes followed his movement as best as she could be he was too fast. How the hell does he expect me to keep up with him? Is this as fast as he can go? she thought. She blinked only for a moment then he was in front of her. As soon as she had heard his words her instincts kicked in. She lost count to how many times she had been trapped by a bounty hunter and had found herself in this sort of situation. It all came naturally to her and for a moment she forgot that he was Dadrik. Instead he was instantly grouped with other people who had came after her in an aggressive manner.

Her ears flattened and for the moment her eyes seemed to change from their vibrant green to a duller shade as her reaction subconscious took over her movements. Beatrix ducked down into a crouch and one of her legs kicked out at his to knock him off balance. A ball of her normal orange flame formed and engulfed her hand. The inflamed hand formed a fist and it shot up towards his stomach.

Dadrik
The Phantom blaze

Dadrik was a tad surprised to say the least when her eyes changed. But inside something else seemed to change. Her instincts were excellent, and her reaction time was also good. But what about her stamina. This was more then just to strengthen her body but how much she could put out as well. He smirked as her foot came across his legs. He actually let his guard down not expecting this. It came across his lower legs, making his body horizontal to the ground. His eyes shifted to see her flamed hand coming at him. As he fell he tilted his body forward, bringing his hand up over his head to the ground, shifting his body weight to barely miss her attack. It going right by his stomach and legs as he flipped out of the fall. His movements were swift, elegant. Nothing like an normal thug that would attack her would be like. As he came to land on his feet his body flickered and he was away from her again."Not bad. Now we need to get that instinct to become not only impulse but your conscious reaction." He said with a smirk. "If I was anyone else that blow would of contacted...and hurt..." He said with a smirk. "Now, you may wonder how you will keep up with me, but eventually if you pay enough attention not only to me but your surroundings you will be able to keep your eyes up with me. Block and counter when you have to. Just expand your senses." He told her.

Katalina Hope Aden

The moment I am thinking. { What to do. }
The moment I am feeling. { Deep in thought. }
Where I am standing now. { Inside the castle} The study. }
Who I stand with. { Selael }

Katalina moved back to her desk. She wasn't sure what to do at this point. "Wait. Selael is it?" She asked the name lingering in the air. Hopefully she will remember it fast. "What if we were to make a illusion spell of the feather in some other spot also do you think that would be helpful as well?" She asked. She moved books around marking some places in some and moving them aside well organizing them around. She wasn't sure what to do. "Please if you would like to, sit down. The chairs wont eat you or anything I promise." Lina said without looking up at him. At this point she was sorting through the books to see ones of use to her.

Lina flipped open a book. She flipped the pages slowly. Scanning over the information that was written on the pages. She could only guess by the time she was done with reading or finding some thing that her eyes would be hurting. Lina stopped on a page. She read in detail about it. It seemed that this spell was created by getting things from the west lands. It needed leaves from the great tree. But that would never be possible to do. Even if they could. The spell needed at least 2 weeks to finish. She just wanted a simple spell that would be useful. Maybe a ward that would blind the person for people to get close to the feather. "Do you know of any wards that could blind them if they were to come within like a foot from the feather?... Maybe that would work as a back up..." Lina thought. But she wasn't sure of such a spell.

Selael
The Pyromancer

Selael then realized that the princess was now addressing him directly... It seemed to come as an initial shock to him, but then he nodded slowly to confirm that his name was, in fact, Selael. He then pondered the idea for a few moments, tapping his fingers across his lips. He thought about it, trying to think of a way her idea would work... He was a Pyromancer, not an Illusionist, but it'd be more likely that these people may try to sense the feather in order to confirm its authenticity...

"It would depend upon how our opposition is tracking the Feather... If they're searching for it by sightings alone, then it may not be feasible for this to work, but I can create an object that exudes a similar aura to the Feather. A Dancing Flame could be a reasonable facsimile in terms of the initial aura given off by the feather if that is how the villains are trying to find it... However, its physical appearance would only vaguely resemble the Feather."

He looked over at the chair she pointed out... He raised a brow at the assurance that the chairs wouldn't eat him, and it was quite obvious that humor was not one of his strong suits. He cautiously lowered his rear upon the cusp of the chair, just in case that it could eat him. He started thinking about whether or not their foes would be resistant to fire... Perhaps there were other traps that could affect them that he could conjure up... After all, he doesn't only use fire to burn things. However, this was the sort of thing that had to be seen to be believed. Then, the young Adenese Princess raised an interesting question about blinding wards...

"Well... I believe specifically blinding an opponent would be something specifically geared toward an Illusionist, however... I believe it is feasible for me to create a flame that, while it lacks heat magnitude, it would produce a great deal of light released in a short period of time. It would be possible for me to create such a ward..." He then pondered and remembered something else he could do... A rather innovative way to use flame that Selael had used in his travels before frequently.

"...Tell me, Princess... Do you know what happens when Sand is melted?" He had an idea for a ward... A Specific one, one that could serve as a potentially dangerous trap... The mischievous glint in his eyes behind the stoic expression seemed to say that whatever he had in mind was something he knew worked before in a very effective manner with deadly efficiency...

Beatrix as soon as things had stopped the color returned to her eyes and she stared ad Dadrik with wide eyes. she didn't mean to take it that far. She stood up straight and rubbed the back of her head. She let out a soft sigh and crossed her arms. "I'll try to." she wasn't sure if she could keep up with him while blocking and countering. She was determined to at least give it a go though she didn't think that this would end well. "Alright Dadrik...Lets see how this goes." Her hand fell to her sides and she took a breath. Her ears twitched and her eyes locked on to him as she waited for his next movements.

Dadrik
The Phantom blaze

Dadrik smirked at her response. "Don't worry, you'll get it trust me. You have an advantage compared to everyone else." He said with his smirk. " Since your instinct reactions are good, I'll see what happens when you have very little reaction time. Eventually your eyes will be able to keep up." He said the moment his body flickered. He was gone, his body flickering into a different place closer to Beatrix but only for less than a second. He then appeared on the right side of Beatrix, kneeled down with his left hand bent infront of him and his right cocked back, then let out a hit. This time though was different. He didn't give very much reaction time at all.
Although he was training her eyes at this time, he was also working her muscles to be able to react. Therefore intensifying them, making them stronger. Making it where her body could handle the kind of pressure that her fire released.

As he took a few steps away from the door he stopped. "What business do you have watching us?" He said loud enough for someone to hear. He of course was talking to the one That started to follow them since they walked through the gate. Eric, the one that his brother had Ran into when Beatrix was originally in the castle stealing the feather.

"I doubt that my eye could do that" she mumbled to herself before the lesson started. Beatrix's eyes followed Dadrik as best as she could make them. Though she did notice that for some odd reason she could keep up with him better than before she had came to their castle. Then he appeared right next to her. Her eyes widened and she quickly held up her arms to block his hit. he didn't give her any time to duck or back up away from him. He really was fast. She stumbled a bit when she felt the impact but she was able to keep in her feet. With out any hesitation her leg kicked out at full force at hi in an attempt to knock him back or even off balance. Though in the back of her head she doubted that she could do that. She knew that if this was all in a serious setting and they were actually fighting each other, she would have no chance. Trix would be dead. She was rather happy to have him as a teacher and a friend than an enemy.

Eric Halen
Your Fortune awaits
---------------------------

He hadn't done a very good job of hiding in the first place, but nonetheless, Eric decided that he would step over to a less hidden spot, off to the side of the interesting man. Hadn't he seen him before? Did he not show up during the incident with the stolen feather? Maybe it had been someone who vaguely resembled him. Eric couldn't remember. He had chosen to forget that entire ordeal, and work on better advertising for his fortune telling buisness. He ran his right hand through his hair before he clicked in to the fact that he had been asked a question.

What buisness did Eric have? That was a good question, though cliche in Eric's opinion. "Well, I can't that I have any buisness watching you at all. I'm here on my own accord, and it's not landing me any profit." Eric smiled. "Excuse my pathetic humor." He apologized, almost embarrased that he had said anything in the first place. He began to explain himself with a very confident and almost charismatic voice. "Now, the actual story is slightly different. I had been looking for a decent meal, and heard that the food was better close to the castle. While looking for some food, I happened to see you and your friend there. You too are much more intersting than food. Not sure why though. Generally, people are boring, and predictable. 'Does he love me?' 'Will I be rich?' It's very sad to say in the least. Now YOU seem a bit more... Profound." Eric once more ran his hand through his hair. It was a nervous twitch. Eric was telling the truth, but he was worried that his actual emotions were showing. Now that he was conversing with this man, he was somewhat afraid. He seemed to be more than just a human.

Dadrik
The Phantom blaze

Dadrik smiled as she blocked. She was getting good with her reflex's, even with such a little time trying to counter. But she was smart, she was talented and she had the white flame with her. Beatrix held more in her then she could know. Would she accept it, that was up to her. And ultimately...one of the only ways she could control it completely. But her mind, her body had to be pushed first. His eyes shifted down as he saw her leg lift up to kick him. At this point, in Dadrik's eyes, everything slowed. Her leg moving slowly toward him. He kneeled down slightly and pushed of the ground. He was going just a bit faster then Her leg. Or at least to him it seemed. Anyone on the outside would see it as swift movements.
As her leg rose to kick him, his body was pushed off the ground by his own legs, jumping. As he jumped he rose at the same speed as Beatrix's kick. Basically mimicking it with his movements but as he rose, he also was moving around her, toward her back. But as her leg stopped he continued. But instead of coming back down, He pushed on her leg, shifting his body as made his way up and over her. Dadrik still in his eyes moving slow, but still, anyone would see a blur from the outside. Would her eyes be able to keep up? A question that would be answered soon. As he went up and over her and shifted his body, he ended up above her, just behind her head throwing his body weight to the side, shifting his shoulders and unleashing a kick behind her.

Maarick's eyes shifted in his head as he turned to spot Eric coming from the shadows. He started to speak and Maarick just cocked an eyebrow. As he was nearly finished with his words, Maarick sensed something from him. Something no other would unless they were like Maarick, being able to sense peoples emotions. Fear. Eric had some sort of embarrassment with fear entwined within it. "Profound?" he muttered lightly. Then shook his head a bit. " Really now fortune teller. " He said in a bit of an interested tone. " My brother was right when he said you were an odd one." Maarick said with a bit of a laugh. He was trying to get this guy to settle a bit. He already knew Maarick was more then just human, he could see that in his emotions. " Well anyway, if your looking for good food I'll take you to get something if you wish. I know of a couple great places here. And while were out, you can ask me what you wish. Instead of trying to see into me when you'll find nothing. Just as you did my brother." He said with a bit of a nod. He knew about the run in Eric had with Dadrik all to well. So this was a chance to give Eric something he may of wanted then. Answers.

Eric frowned. Now he knew why the man seemed familiar. He had met his brother sometime ago. what was the name? Dadrik, or something of the sort? Looking back, he wondered how he could forget someone like that. It was barely possible. He could definately see the similarities between the man he stood by and the man he had met during the robbery of the feather. "I wasn't aware that I had left that much of an impression that someone like your brother would speak about me." He muttered, almost as though part of him did not want that to be heard. Then Eric smiled again.

It was odd for someone to offer Eric food, and so Eric was confused by the man's offer. "You're very kind for someone I just met. I would decline if it weren't for the fact that you offer me answers as well, so instead I say, lead the way." Eric chuckled. Free food and answers. It was something Eric hadn't seen in a long time. Not since he was a child.

Beatrix felt no contact with Dadrik but was able to see the blur of movement in front of her but quickly lost it. A slight panic ran through her as she eyes searched for him. Out of instinct she spun around to find his leg kicking out at her. She used her arms to block the attack. The impact made her stumble back and tripped on a rock. She fell back and hit the ground with a thud.

She let out a soft groan and slowly sat up. Her ears lowered and she looked up at him. How embarrassing.Down by the seconded hit. A frown formed on her lips and she rubbed the back of her head. How the hell can I really keep up with him? I mean It's easier than before but it's still nearly impossible. I don't have his experience with fighting..I'd rather run and avoid the conflict. . Beatrix was not use to any kind of training. Her fighting skills were for survival and instinct that she would normally use to get away from a situation. She felt the ache in her arms from the impact and knew that they were going to bruise.
