So... if nu-metal is thrash.... then is thrash off limits also??
I have a band or two to add to the list.

One is Lollipop Lust Kill.
I found some others but I'm not entirely sure what they are. I'll have to think about it some more.

Just curious why Korn isn't in that list.

hmmm

I have to disagree with murderdolls being on there..

They arent metal at all, Most people say that they're horror punk, Just like wednesday 13. Or goth rock.

Other then that.. Its pretty good.

Punk is usually a form of metal, though it's called either punk rock or punk metal.

And if thrash was considered nu-metal, then Pantera would also be off-limits for discussion.

It depresses me to see some of those bands up there. Such as Slipknot. I think slipknot is pretty god damned good. y'know? Anyone agree?

I'd debate why Slipknot and Static-X are on there. Static-x are considered Industrial now. Slipknot on the other hand are not bound to one genre, having introduced aspects of Death metal and progressive rock to an otherwise stale genre which they abandoned before it sank. Also Murderdolls defientely arent nu-metal. Post-Clayman InFlames needs to be on there though.

In Flames is debatable (god dammit I can't smoke and type at the same time mad ) Imo they aren't Nu-Metal. I'd consider them... I wanna say Death Metal... but not really... damn. ********. my mind is gone

I'm just saying that with the release of Clayman they started drifting ever further towards new metal. No more guitar solos.

Well, even so...Nu-Metal isn't a genre of Metal. I think this has to be explained daily :/ They are on there because they fall under the nu-metal category. nu=not i.e. "not" metal.

It shouldn't depress you. It isn't an insullt. It is their actual genre. They aren't on there because they are a bad band. They are on there because they are Nu-Metal.

I have been a fan of Static-X since they first began in '98. I have followed their work from day one and I own every cd. and as much as I would like them to be industrial...they sadly aren't.They are nu-metal. accept it. I do, and they are my favorite band. Slipknot is 100% nu-metal. Sorry. and saying that In Flames is nu-metal is a very big insult to their work. How dare you compare them to such simplistic bands.and Murderdolls...is definately nu-metal. Please...everyone...study your bands more before you start spouting out different bands and their made-up genres (or real genres that aren't the genre in which the band belongs.)

Yeah, I'd have to side with Kit on this one. Yes, the glorious guitar work that In Flames is reknowned for was reduced following Clayman. But there's no way they're nu-metal. And they're not death metal either. I'd say their current status is more like a blend of melodeath and some metalcore elements. Sure, their last three albums weren't stellar, but they were still pretty damn good. By saying that In Flames is nu-metal, you're throwing them in the same boat as Slipknot, Korn, and Disturbed...which is ludicrous. Jesper by himself has more musical talent than all three of those combined.

I wont compare anything before clayman to nu metal, since I love their earlier progressive work. I do my homework, study my genres and listen to the stuff properly. Nu metal is considered a genre, check wikipedia, look at the way the bands worked. I'd normally go on a big tirade against people calling static x and slipknot nu metal since they are a world apart in genre and ability terms from brainless fools like spineshank and the kennedy soundtrack.
