(( Oceanside - Roll 5/6 - Broad-Ribbed Cardita ))
Zul used to love the beach. Or maybe it was more proper to say, he loved the beach, sans all the extra bodies. He used to be able to spend the days soaking the sun on a sand-drenched rock, listening to the waves and the sound of the sky. Never had he been so...eager, so impatient to get away from the people that milled over it. Xiu's shadow cut across his field of vision, prompting him to look up towards the Sigel with a patient expression, lifting a dark brow as he was offered a pad of paper. What, did he find that in the sand and want to share? It was no sea fan, that was for certain...but, being as amicable as he could in his given mindset, he took the pad and gave it a polite look.
The demon could read, in fact, had been able to as long as he remembered, and thus the words easily ensnared his attention. Zul swallowed a laugh, grinning crookedly at the Sigel as he handed the pad back, "You ought to find it again, then." Whether he was being serious or ribbing the white Raevan, he'd let Xiu decide. Chuckling under his breath, he continued in his venture down the foamy line of the breaking sea, ignoring the slight bite of warning he felt at being so close to the water. He had no idea if the way his rune reacted was normal, but he wasn't eager to start a show just then.
As the waves receded, a rather pristine white shell was revealed, one deftly plucked from the sandy confines and shaken out for good measure. It had appeasing curves, slightly beveled surface feeling rather agreeable against his thumb. The body of it curled and had an opening at one end, as clean and empty and slightly pink on the inside as any shell. Content, Zul added it to his collection, smiling a bit to himself. It wasn't a bad haul, all things considered, though it made him feel slightly better that Xiu wasn't speaking for lack of obvious reason.

((Lucia= seashell event Roll 5))
The shell she saw had—something living in it! A pair of claws reached out and Lucia’s eyes went wide as the thing tried to bite, or claw, or snip her. Dropping it from her height, she did what Yuu always did when Sammy was bad. Sticking out her pointer finger, scolding, ”NO! Bad Gussy.” Picking the crab up by the sides, the kitten gently picked up the crustacean and placed him in the bucket. ”Now be good.”
Smiling to herself, Lucia looked for more. Her eyes glanced to the left and right on the sand. She gasped, and floated over to another pile of sand with a bit of something sticking out.

The frei grinned. ”I found another one!” she called to Iorek. The shell looked just like the bulbus spirally one that she had found before. Aweeeesssome! Tossing it in the blue bucket, she looked at the three shells she had collected. And Gussy.
She was getting bored. She wanted to be with her friends – well the ones she still had – not looking at the ground. Her eyes scanned quickly as she made her way towards where Zul was looking. Spotting another white spot in the tan sand, she bent down and tossed it in the bucket carelessly. She was done caring about the event.
She had found 4 shells and a crab named Gussy. It was enough for her.
Dropping the bucket by Iorek’s side, just in case he found any more shells, Lucia floated bee-line to Zul and, not caring what he was in the middle of, since he wasn’t talking to anyone, she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. ”Zuuuul!” Her eyes shone, truly excited to see her friend.

(( Oceanside - Roll 6/6 - A Clump of Seaweed )) His eyes sought the clear flow of water as the waves pulled back to the body of the ocean, his attention not solely for shells but for those that suited his tastes. The demon overlooked a few broken and mundane ones in hopes of something better, something shiny. Zul felt he was exhausting his options for premium content, prepared to end the game - it was almost time, anyway - when something caught his eye. Quirking his dark brows, the tri-horned demon leaned down, brushing aside some foam and leaves to try and reach the sparkle that had caught his attention.
Hearing his name called was quite the diversion, lifting his head in surprise. "Lucia?" he blinked. Was that really her? The Kitten that had been so despondent not that long ago, whose shadow he had become for her safety? Zul felt a shot of shock in his system seconds before the female Frei wrapped him up in a hug, his fingers hooking into the seaweed with the impact as he floated back to steady both of them from falling into the water. Dropping the green gunk with only a brief glance to see if what he was aiming for was still there - it was impossible to tell - he wrapped his arms around the Kitten and slowly floated both of them out of the water's reach.
"Lucia," he purred, pleased, smiling against her dark hair in an entirely warmed manner. "You look good! How are you? Ah..." Glancing up to his partner, he dropped his bucket to the sand and extended the now freed hand towards the Sigel. "Have you met Xiu? This is Lucia," he said by means of introduction of the two, keeping an arm around her back with comfortable familiarity. It was second nature to him now, being next to the vivacious girl.

[ Vyn. Above the water. ]
“Yes. Grandpa...” Vyn noted the confusion lurking in the other girl’s eyes and quickly explained. “A grandparent is the mum or dad of your mum or dad.” Realising how the sentence could be jumbled by the younger frei quite easily she tried to put in in a way that the blue haired dainty being could grasp. “Kenth’s mum would be your grandma, and his dad is your grandpa.” She smiled before wondering momentarily about her own grandparents. She’d never met Shuura’s parents, though she’d often heard the teen complain about them... But neither had she seen, or even heard, of Ethan’s parents. It made her wonder; did he keep in contact with them? Were they even alive? The businessman was older than most guardians after all... His parents would be exceedingly old – compared to the raevans at least!
The shell presented to her was sufficiently different to need its own special place in the family and Vyn had to pause for a moment of thought. It was black whilst the others were white... Suddenly the little black face in her own small family popped into her mind’s eye and rather triumphantly she declared; “It can be the pet!” Pinching the two sides of the shell together to make a mini mouth-like movement she was half tempted to imitate a bark to demonstrate what a pet was, but instead she just placed it in their growing hoard and pressed on with the search.
A very pretty shell came to her hand on the tide next and in mild awe she raised the white beauty out of the water. It was smaller than the others and the elegant ribbed surface was perfect for the role of a beautiful young daughter. "What do you think?" She asked, showing the angel wings shell to Xeulian, pleased that they were building up a collection of shells to rival the other raevans who had jumped ahead of them.

(( Oceanside ))
Xuelian listened carefully to Vyn's explanation, then pondered to herself. She understood that "mom" and "dad" were people too and they too had "mom" and "dad" when they were young. However, to compare her relationship with Kenth as a family was a bit far stretch. Kenth never taught her that he was equivalent to a father. In fact the doctor had always reminded her how she was created and he was not the one who did the creation. Kenth was a caregiver, and, if anything, Xuelian saw the white haired man as her teacher, a strict one too. The thought that Kenth was not related to her did not bother the Raevan. She did, however, became quite depressed trying to know who her mom and dad was---or if she had them at all. After all, father and mother, like Kenth stressed, only applied to humans. She was not a human, and thus the concept didn't apply to her. Nonetheless, the dainty Raevan wished she had a family, like the seashells in the bucket.
Seeing the older Raevan's new find Xuelian cheered up almost immediately, tossing her worries behind. She liked Vyn's idea, in fact, she could not find any ideas from Vyn that she disliked. The rose Raevan just earned herself full respect from Xuelian if she didn't already when they first met. The girl made a small squeal at the small seashell, patting it gently as it was put into the bucket.
"Child, and..pet." She named, assigning their new find with her fingers. The family now got bigger, in fact, it was, to Xuelian, quite complete. The girl could not find anything that was missing, so for the moment she lost her aim, her eyes wandering without focus on the ground. A wave of sea-water washed up something ashore. Unlike the smooth features of their previous collection, this one was jagged and messy. It didn't look pretty, and it was big. It did, however, share some of the features that Xuelian assumed a seashell would have. Therefore, the girl picked it up, wiping the wet sand off of it to reveal, unknown to her, a skeleton of a crab. There, she put the big crab shell in the bucket, and explained it to Vyn.
"House." She announced. Because every family needed one.

((Clamp shell))
Xiu nodded at Zul’s comment, his expression a little grim at those words. Zul could bet on his…rune that he was. Writing on paper was fine and all but it could only do so much to express one’s feeling. That and meeting illiterates was a challenge in itself. Watching as the frei floated away, Xiu wondered if he should follow Zul. The frei had seemed reluctant…
Oh well, as long as they collected the required number of shells right? Floating over to a half buried log, Xiu spotted a clam shell. Picking it up, the white frei then added it to his bucket.

[ Vyn. Above the water. ]
Vyn could tell that Xuelian’s newest find wasn’t technically a shell, but since they were having fun constructing their make believe family of shells she didn’t remedy the girl error, in fact she nodded approvingly. Her troubles with the possible virus frei had been wiped from her mind by the endearingly childish pursuit and Vyn was enjoying the company of young Xeulian. She was surprised that Kenth had produced such a pleasant girl. If Xeulian had taken after her guardian Vyn was sure that the seashell’s game would’ve taken a completely different route... Probably a cold formal discussion or possibly not even that, awkward silence. This, though immature, was much better. Swinging the bucket Vyn looked around for something else to add to the set up they were gathering. The addition of a house made Vyn wonder what else they needed and when a trail of green was pushed towards them by an incoming wave her lips curled into a bemused smile underneath the shade of her hat.
Pulling a clump of seaweed from the ocean she dangled it before the younger raevan. There was quite a lot of it, so much so that if they took all of it they would overfill the bucket... So as she explained her thinking to Xeulian Vyn began pinching bits off and discarding them so that she trimmed the find down to a more manageable (and less stinky) amount. “They have a house now... But the pet and the child need somewhere to play.” She nodded, looking for conformation in the other raevan’s expression. “This is green, like grass,” she shook what remained of the seaweed to get rid of the excess water, “it can be a garden for the shell family.” Pleased with this creative input Vyn dumped the trimmed seaweed into the bucket.
“I know it’s not a shell... But... I think they’ll enjoy a garden.”

Only one more shell to go! Better make sure it was a good one! Scrounging around the fallen log, Xiu encountered a couple of other shells but they were similar to the ones he had found. There seemed to be plenty of sand dollars around this part of the beach. Floating still further inwards, Xiu concentrated on finding that one final shell. Who knew that it’d be that hard?
Perhaps he’d have better luck in a rock pool?
Thus making up his mind, Xiu then wandered to a small little pool not far from where Zul was. Bending over, Xiu found the perfect little shell to end the game. It was a lace murex! And its spines were not chipped off yet. Reaching through the clear waters, Xiu took the shell and as he was placing it into the bucket, Zul had called him over to meet Lucia.
Lucia! That was one raevan he had not met in a while. Smiling, Xiu floated to where the two raevans were and smiled, wondering slightly at the casual manner Zul was placing his arm around the cat raevan.

((Roll 4/6 - Fly-Specked Cerith Oceanside - Anastacia ))
Soon after she found that ridged little full-half shell, Anastacia's luck turned up something else. Not a piece of paper, but as another roll of the waves came in (to which the Frei hastily backed off as though her life depended on it) more treasures were unearthed or otherwise carried in.
It's all green. She was commenting on the large mat of seaweed that the ocean had deposited on her hunting ground. A tangle of greens of all shades, but only greens were before her. Immediately as the water retreated again the mass of slime, salt, and more than likely hundreds of secret egg caches began to hiss softly in the sun like hundreds of snakes. Even by the water, the sun's light was oppressive and Anastacia could really feel it on the back of her neck and shoulders. How many shells did they need again? Either way, she'd only gather maybe one or two more before she'd call it quits, Rivener not done or saying they needed more or not. She needed some shade and maybe, just maybe, an ice cube or two on the spot despite the fact she relied on heat and cold was the exact opposite. Her eyes scanned the seaweed and she got close to it though her nose crinkled at the briny smell. Gingerly she picked at the leaves, turning them over to reveal their insides.
"...Oh!" Turning over a broad, wavy-edged leaf revealed another shell. A fly-specked cerith to be precise, though like with the rest she wasn't aware of the proper names for it. It was predominantly white but in each spiral was numerous flecks of a red-brown color. Like the shell she had just gotten, it was whole and this was quite pleasing to her. She still liked the colorful one, even if it was broken, but finding an undamaged one was a find in itself to her! She decided to keep this one as well; claiming most of her treasures now for her own, and set back off to put this one in the bucket with the half shell and the colorful insides one.

(( Ocean side ))
"Oooh..." The girl looked into the bucket with an amused look. Their house of seashells looked so real now, Xuelian was beginning to hope that she could bring it home. Of course, the Raevan had the suspicion that Kenth would not agree to keep the family. The seashells, maybe, but definitely not the green garden.
As the other Raevans gradually retreated from the ocean side Xuelian had a feeling that the game was almost over. The game was certainly fun, and she wished the process was longer as she enjoyed spending time with the rose Raevan. More importantly was that she was able to build a seashell family, so though the game was short, Xuelian was quite satisfied with what the two had accomplished. With that in mind Xuelian wondered if she could find another shell, to perhaps add flowers to the garden or even something else. She scanned the ocean, then to the sand underneath her ribbons. She noticed that in a few feet away laid a piece of shell similar to the one she had picked up previously. The teal Raevan debated if she should pick that one up too. It wasn't as pretty as a "seashell", but Vyn didn't deny it being a seashell either, which means it must be a kind of shell also. With that thought in mind Xuelian made the decision to pick up the similar crab shell and brought it back to Vyn. She contemplated what kind of addition the new crab shell could be, the older Raevan should have some ideas if she herself can't think of any. Xuelian was about to reveal her newest find to Vyn when she felt a strange sensation tingling on her the skin of her palm. In shock, she looked down at her hand, only to find the shell she had picked up had grown legs, one of them was pinching at her palm.
"Ah!" Xuelian let out a small cry. She was unfamiliar with the sensation of pain, but it certainly felt unpleasant. Out of reflex the girl shook her hand trying to get the crab loose, but the little guy hang tight, its largest claw digging into her palm. In both pain and confusion tear swiftly swelled up in the dainty Raevan's eyes. Unable to get rid of the rebellious (and most likely angry) crab in her hand, she simply stared hard down at the little creature. Why was this piece of shell biting into her?
"Vyn..." The girl called out to her partner in an unstable voice. "The shell is angry." She said, trying hard to fight back the tears handing around in her eyes. She then resumed to looking at the crab, trying to make sense of the situation.
"I'm sorry, I should not pick you up. Please forgive me."

((Roll 5/6 - A piece of paper Oceanside - Anastacia ))
She set the red-brown speckled shell into the bucket next to her other treasures and that still-damp slip of paper she had found first. She paused to look at her small collection and, appeased to what she had so far, was thinking of keeping this game up even after it officially ended. No one else would be looking, she figured, so she could have the whole hunting ground to herself and find more of these shells to keep. It'd make this whole event more bearable anyway and Zeke had been talking about decorating her room some more to make it wholly her own. Wasn't it already? Ah well, these shells would be a nice addition to her bureau or the window sills either way and she could feel herself relax while doing it, despite the threat of the ocean water and the scent of brine.
"There," she looked at her partner and pointed to a stretch neither she nor the Sigel had tried yet. She guessed she'd have to tell him where she was going so he wouldn't get lost or something though she did stand out amongst the sand, even with her back turned. That red hourglass stood out from her skin like a beacon. With her direction made known she floated off once more, trekking across the sand and watching another pad of seaweed come rolling in on the waves. Despite being slimy and unappealing all around, she had found that unbroken shell inside, so with very little reservation she dug through it. Seaweed yielded more seaweed but soon she found herself pulling out another piece of paper that had been trapped inside. She pulled a face.
Ew, gross. They couldn't win on that, so, unlike the first slip she had found, Anastacia merely threw this new blob of flyer onto the dry sand. Can't win with that. One more try then I go back up... She kept digging.

[ Vyn. Oceanside. ]
Vyn was concentrating on adding one last shell to their collection before heading back. Her face was suspended over the glistening waves as she pivoted her body almost horizontal – her leathery wings spread out as wide as they could, almost mimicking a gull riding the gusts of wind up above. However, unlike the gull it was not wind nor wing power keeping her suspended, just the work of her fiery red rune bursting with ethereal light. Vyn could feel the strain of doing this, but it would be worth it if floating slightly further out yielded positive results. Fortunately for the flowery shell finding team the rose’s efforts did pay off. Underneath the waves Vyn spied a collection of shells, perfectly positioned in an aesthetic arc. She wouldn’t take all of them – that wasn’t necessary – however Vyn did plunge her arm into the depth and remove one of the pretty little things for the bucket.
Manoeuvring herself above the water she turned around and propelled herself towards the shore where Xeulian was floating. She had the small shell clasped in her hand ready to display on an open palm; however a pained expression on the other girl’s face made the rose pause with surprise. Forgetting about the game and inquiring what was wrong, her concerned black eyes trailed over the other. As she levered herself back to a standing position she noticed the creature that was hanging off the other’s hand. A crab, not a dead and empty exoskeleton like the one Xuelian had discovered earlier, but a live one apparently pinching rather hard on Xeulian’s finger.
Suppressing a smile at the dainty girl’s ever so polite apology to the mean crustacean Vyn tutted and flicked the shell into the bucket before gesturing for Xeulian to hold out her hands. Cupping them and moving them to a workable level Vyn set to work trying to pry the crab off of the blue haired frei. Shaking around was an instinctive reaction but it hadn’t done anything for the sea life’s temper and it seemed to be bitterly clinging onto the bit of skin in it’s claw. However as Vyn pried at the large pincer, whilst avoiding grabs from the smaller (but still nasty) claw, she managed to work the crab away. Warily the shadow held the creature in a pinch by it’s back body and placed it back on the wet sand where it scuttled away.
“That wasn’t a shell... It was a crab. He didn't like being picked up..” She smiled, hoping that the tears would quickly vanish from the previously cheerful young raevan. “It’ll be sore, but it’ll be better soon... Shall we head back?” Returning to the safety of the booth and her guardian might make the girl feel more secure after that miniature trauma.
Flower team's bucket: Xeulian's finds - crab skeleton, fly speckled cerith, wentletrap, clam shell, sand dollar, live crab. Vyn's finds - clump of seaweed, angel wings, pretty stone, lace murex, fly speckled cerith, broad ribbed cardita.

((Roll 6/6 - Pretty Stone Oceanside - Anastacia)) A bottle, some scraps of paper, a chunk of water-rotted wood, and some small fragments of shell or possibly bone was all that mat of kelp had to offer. All that garbage was tossed with the slip of paper she had found, making a small mound of it on the sand behind her. Anastacia's brows knit together, growing frustrated that this pile of sea greens hadn't given her anything she could call 'treasure'. Maybe she should head back after all; three of the things she had found were the best of anything they had found in her mind and, she was adamant about, she could come back after some rest in the shade and search for herself rather than this game, and that was infinitely better. She'd still keep her game shells though.
As Anastacia floated back up, the surf came up high again and soaked the end of her ribbon. She grumbled beneath her breath, yanking the short dangling part of her up and ringing out the water. The seaweed was carried back out again and lost beneath the bubbles, but once the water retreated again it wasn't long before something had caught her eye. Poking out from the wet sand was a smooth, ovular stone. Unlike the white and off-white pebbles that littered the beach like pimples, this one was blue-green in color with veins of shiny liquid-looking black coursing through it. She was taken aback by the shock of color in the brown-grey sand, wings and crown rising into the air in a display of that emotion. One thought came through her mind after that numbing feeling in her brain died off - she had to have it. Like with the crab Anastacia cast her wings out before her, using them to balance herself and she lowered herself and dug the stone out. It was larger than it appeared but would fit snugly in her hand when it was fully free. Grit clung to its surface and once it was in her hand the Frei spider-walked down to the bubbling foam and washed it off in a manner similar to a raccoon washing off its meal.
"Beautiful." She said in a surprisingly awed tone once the stone was washed and lifted up to her eyes, much like a prospector would hold up his first gold nugget. Like the top part that had caught her eye, the blue-green color with black veins continued all over its surface. The stone was perfectly smooth thanks to the rolling of the ocean and to Anastacia that's what it was entirely - perfect. Oh yes, she'd definitely come back down here again once this was all over. Alone, preferably, but she could make Zeke her bucket lackey and he could see farther than she as well. Protectively she clung to her stone, looking over her shoulder at where Rivener now hovered; likely waiting. He could have whatever of her shells he wanted - within reason of course, they were still hers - she now definitely wanted this rock for sure. This would go on her nightstand, the closest spot to her bed so she could look at it before she fell asleep. The sound of the waves coming jerked her from her flip-flopping greed and Anastacia quickly moved before she got any more drenched. She floated back to her game partner, keeping her fingers tucked around the stone instead of placing it in the bucket.
"Ready." It was a statement, not a question, and already she began the float to the popsicle stand with the others, leaving the bucket in Rivener's charge.Total 3 Shells 2 Pieces of Paper 1 Pretty Stone

[[ Eiry (Drinks Booth -> Popsicle booth) Partial Tag to: Kyou, Snoof, Ravi and whoever else happens to be at the Popsicle booth. ]]
Glancing towards the Popsicle booth where a few people hummed and mulled about, ordering cold delicacies and talking about the event, Eiry's grin grew wider. He could see the paper sign up sheet that Dr. Kyou had mentioned and he was going to make it his quest to sign up! Turning back to Kyou, the minty sigel gave a hoot of a laugh and slapped the counter once with his hand.
"Thank you, good doctor, thank you!"
It was with that brief goodbye that Eiry leaned back and pushed himself away from the drinks booth. Floating over to the popsicle booth, his flaming wings in tow, the ghost raevan gave a brief wave to Zeke before attaching his attention to the sign up sheet at hand.
"A fountain pen for me," Eiry muttered happily, searching about until he found the item in question. Wrapping it up in his hand, he peered close at the paper and signed his full name in flowery font underneath Sand Castle Contest as well as Paintball. Satisfied, Eiry leaned back again, his grin stretching wide.
"Give me a case to put my visage in: A visor for a visor! what care I what curious eye doth quote deformities? Here are the beetle brows shall blush for me," he quoted, happily smearing the wisps of his hair back behind his ears.
