3 of the alter-bodies dissolved like playdoh in water at the light.
The last one, the real body it seemed made his move. Another quick use of energy.
"Machen"
quieter, barely heard over the final screams of the other bodies, he was bathed in a cloud of darkness, known as Machen, or mentioned in one of the ancient texts as machen shin, the dark wind it hovered around him, the light radiating so brightly would hit the shadow and stop, the brightest of witchlights had been swallowed whole as well as their masters in this barrier.
But his glinting blue eyes were seen, and suddenly voices would be heard, first a background of screams, then soft, carresing voices, saying the same things over and over.
"Crack the bones, drink the marrow, such sweet marrow, break the body, tender body, watch the blood crimson tears"
Over and over again lightly, like the ramblings of an insane man, but with a chorus. Of course they did nothing, Machen was to shield him from this damned light, but the effect might help.

She would take them around the outskirts of town, 10 minutes flight. But as she glides over the city proper, the hair on the back of her neck bristled and a shiver ran down her spine. Golden eyes narrowed on the horrizon.
"Kain... do you feel that?"
She picked out Shin's aura almost immediately. The other, she didn't recognize, but it had bad news written all over it.

"Mm" Kain agreed,
"One, your elf friend, the other... stinks of death..."
Kain was a Necromancer and well versed in Death, either causing or commanding. Souls were his business and this one was powerful...the feeling was very familiar to his Necromancer adeversaries, the Lich.
If there was a Lich in V'enir they would certainly be having fun trying to stop him.

Sierra's brow furrows as she contemplates the latter half of the Devil's observation. It was a very likely possibility. She shudders, hoping not but preparing for the worst.
"How's that will to kill treatin' you right now Kain?"
She grins, her mind already prepping for battle as she banks a hard left towards the forest where the two powers were emenating from.

"Never leaves, Sierra"
This time Kain began before his Lady, soaring low and fast in the general direction of the forest. He'd slow down a bit just in case Sierra had a plan that was better than his, which was...to go in gun's blazin'.

Sierra would have tied him for speed, but instead chose to fly just behind him. She was opening herself up to Shin telepathicly and it would leave her slightly vulnerable in the area of awareness and reflex.
:: Shin, are you alright? ::
:: Yeah... Madison's in rough shape though... ::
:: Who? ::
:: One of your guild members, he did something to her mind. ::
:: Right... I'll get her out of there, Kain and I are coming in from your right flank, be ready for us. ::
:: Aye. ::
Sierra would pull up beside Kain as she ceased communication with Shin.
" Guard your wits, this one likes to play headgames. I'm going to evacuate one of my guild members then I'll be back... "
She went in low and fast, almost untrackable, she was a blur of motion streamlined and speeding toward her destination.

Not entirely certain of what she wanted him to do he thought it best just to find a spot and observe until she returned.
Obviously this creature had the a good sense on how to get through things. The villagers weren't giving him much trouble, Kain, still wouldn't understand why they couldn't just fly over head...that elf had to explain things more. Like right now, for example...what did she want him to do?
HE wanted to leave the thing, it seemed to be having fun...it was just thinning out the weak from the strong...if anything, a service was being provided.

Sierra folded her wings in tight against her back, forming her body into a more aerodynamic shape as she slipped through the air in seamless stream of speed, towards the green energy that had encased Madison, keeping her safe for the moment.
:: NOW!! ::===== At Sierra's signal, Shin dropped the barrier he had errected around the fallen fur. It left her unprotected for one brief moment, but he had to trust that Sierra would come through. And if there was anyone he trusted in this foreign world, it was Sierra.
Before he could make sure that Sierra had Madison safely in hand however... Saiko was up to his old tricks.
Shin's keen hearing made out the word just as the thing's being was engulfed in a queer darkness. It reminded him of a variant of 'black hole' technique. The elf was on his guard, gritting his teeth against the morbid chant that seemed to surround him. He did the only thing he could think of to combat such darkness. He intensified the light he was emitting and tried to push the cloud of despair backwards or at least keep it dead-locked until he was sure Madison was safely out of harm's way.===== Sierra, as soon as the barrier had been dropped, flew directly overtop of the unconscious woman's body, catching her up in a net of her arms and her tail, holding her tightly against her body as she flew further from the area.
A 'PING'. A resonance of energy to signal her of someone's location and promised aide. It was an alerting system used by the GUARDIAN division of her forces. She'd figured that they'd be nearby if Shin was involved in this fight...
She veers to the west, and lands on an exceptionally thick upper bough of an elder oak. One of the GUARDIAN scouts, a young man with soft spikey hair, orange in hue holds out his arms to the elf.
She carefully transfers her to his care with a simple instruction.
"Take her to the infirmary, place her in Reiyvian's care. Tell her that she suffers from Trauma of the Mind and Soul, Shin intercepted."
And with that, she was turned around and headed back towards the frey.
:: Kain, any better guesses as to what that thing is? ::

Kain blinked and threw his hands up in a helpless guess. He was hiding behind a downed old tree, covered in moss, while he peered over top it at the...thing...
::APPEARS human...although he's got some Jekyll/Hyde thing going on...I'm not sure if you know the reference. But, he looks incredibly strong, imposing indeed, he's all sorts of different shapes. ::
Kain looked again and tried to describe the mishapen man again...to no avail.

Indeed. The female was gone, More life around him, stronger life, Oh so strong lifesigns, he was damn near drooling with that pool of energy that would soon be his.
'AhahahahHAHAHAHAHA'
His hoarse laugh tearing through the air around him.
"Machen, canopy!"
The cloud of darkness around him expanded greatly, throwing an eerily dull light across the entire area, it continued to expand, like a vicious storm cloud but the voices could still be heard, though at a distance, like a whisper tickling your eardrums.
Sweet the marrow break the bones, drink the blood crimson blood, living blood, souls coffin.
'Heh, heh, so the elf child wants to have fun?'
His eyes damn near glowed in the dimness as he advanced forward, his blade swinging gently in a hypnotic movement his whole body shifting with an odd, predatory grace, like a big cat seeing it's food for the day, grinning with his sharpened teeth glinting. He was indeed a happy soul.

Sierra felt the pulse of darkness as it was about to grow stronger and cringed. She had landed under the cover of the woodland's undergrowth. Aware of the risk, colliding superpowers could pose for the surrounding landscape and life forms she had started scrawling out the runes for a barrier of isolation. Trapping all active energies and damages within a radius of 10km. As she felt the swell of Saiko's energy, she triggers her own barrier, cutting them off from real time and the rest of the world. Nothing could leave or enter, until the elf lowered it, or was slain.
Now it was time to see why Kain was so at a loss for words. She steps through the undergrowth, 12 feet behind Saiko, sandwhiching him between her and Shin. ===== A shiver runs down Shin's spine as the area suddenly seemed a lot more dreary and dismal. He draws a metal bracelet from his wrist, detatching it from his gauntlets and setting it on the earth before him, his sword at the ready as he waits, observing and noting Sierra's return.

Kain, at first, didn't realise the 'Black Hole' like ability that Saiko was issueing to the area. Having a similar ability and an ability for seeking out bodily energy, Kain could make out the shape of the charcter's outline and only small hints of definition.
::Sierra, what exactly are you wanting me to do about this. As far as I'm seeing it he's just speeding up natural selection and this place isn't the Guild, is it?::
Should this character attack Sierra...or vice-versa, Kain was contract/duty bound to assist. For the most part his assitance would be because of the simple deal of his services for gold, but, though she was still slightly annoying, he'd rather know Sierra for awhile more.

The muscles down his spine clenched as something, someone, stepped behind him, he could feel power eminating from it, but he didn't look. His body, being a puppet for a soul was attuned to any sort of power both mystical, or energy basis.
Stopping he closed his eyes and sighed gently.
"what's the sport in this child? You call friends to thier death, you hope beyond hope that rather than a death alone, in the dark, cast aside like an old toy, your friends would protect you, like the hero's of stories, truth be told boy I had hoped more of you."
His oration was put forth in a quick, unpaused rasp, and his eyes still closed he cast out, searching for locations, and movements of the others.
He really would rather not have some sharp thing shoved into his new vessel.
"come out, boys, girls, toys, have your fun, and i'll have mine"
he said near giggling, still waiting for someone to move or speak.

Shin opened his mouth to speak, but Sierra spoke first.
"Called for our help? Don't get ahead of yourself buddy, we just happened to be in the area."
:: Kain, while it may be natural 'selection' in the abyss of hell, EVERYTHING that lives in V'enir is weaker than this thing, they're mortals, they don't have special powers. Against something like this, they're helpless. And in return for aide from the Dark Sakura, we tend to reap a few benefits. Besides, He'll only move onto the DSBG when he's done here, you can feel it can't you? His hunger? My people would suite his tastes a little more than the bland meat of humans don't you think? No. He gets stopped here and now. ::
Saiko knew he was there, he might as well come and join the party...===== Shin, said nothing, his face remained impassive as he simply watched the cloud of darkness. He would follow his Lady's lead.

Kain felt the tingle of a prying mind and new, already knew, that he was 'spotted'. 'Not like he was doing his best at hiding, Seiko would find his presence in the direction of Seiko's right, straight ahead about 40 feet out.
:: Fine with me. ::
He kept his further opinion's aside and readied for confrontation.
Not trying for any concealment now Kain began a counter-spell to this Blackness. Having a similar ability he knew the basic mechanics of shadow and absence of light tricks.
