Terrion cocked her head like a dog. "Fly? No I've never flown before." She licked her cracked lips and muttered to herself, "Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink. So true." Terr squinted her eyes as she surveyed the quickly passing trees as they neared the village. "Do I know this place?" She bit her bottom lip and screwed her eyes shut.
Trees. Everywhere. Any one could support a good hiding place. 'Oh where did you go, Elia?' Terrion thought. A simple game of hide-and-seek, a wonderous exercise for tracking skills. Terrion had drawn the short stick, and now she was off to find her best friend. A footprint here, a bruised plant there. Elia was running in a zig-zag pattern. 'He's probably hiding in some tree.' Terrion glanced upwards and saw movement high up in the branches. Too smooth. Elia would never have swung from branch to branch. Or perhaps he would, just to throw her off. She frowned. 'Nope, can't use my powers, and neither can he. I forget what he can do...' A burst of laughter echoed from high above her. "Gotta catch me, Terr!" 'Oh, yeah. He's got that power over nature. Duh.' She ran below Elia as he swung from branch to branch, laughing like a little child. They were both fifteen years of age, fit and muscular. Terr burst into a village and several children burst out laughing as Elia fell from a tree and landed squarely on Terr. "Gottcha!" "I thought it was me trying to catch you!" Someone screamed. The children stared straight ahead. Behind the two now somber teenagers stood a man. "Come to me, train all you want." Elia jumped in front of Terrion. "You'll have to go through me first!" "Very well." There was a flash of light and Elia was thrown to the side. Terr flinched as she heard his head crack against the side of a building. "You're coming with me." Terrion did not scream. She drew both her swords. "Try me." The man ignored the swords and grabbed her wrist. He smiled. "Tell your boyfriend goodbye, Terrion Thunderslash." "ELIA!" Elia shook his head and leaped to his feet, drawing his sword. "TERRION!" he screamed. The village children scattered as Aun drew a knife and threw it. Terrion didn't see where it hit. Aun had already whisked her away with a flash of light.
Tears fell down Terr's cheeks. I'm ready to kill you, Aun.

Zoe alsmot hit a tree when another memory came flooding in. Zoe and Ben had found weapons, and they were fighting each other playfully. They ran into a near-by village, and stopped in their tracks. Carnage and bodys lay everywhere, and screams echoed from the other side of the village. Ben and Zoe took different sides of the village, going to cornor the monster. They both jumped out, only to be struck by something hard. Ben flew back, and zoe stumlbed backwards. "I knew you all couldnt resist to help." Came a voice, but Zoe couldnt see the face. Her visiosn was blurred, and she was dizzy. She squinted to see Aun holding Ben by his neck, two feet off the ground. Zoe screamed, drawing her sword. She ran forward, and tried slicing Aun's stomach, but her sword just bounced off it. She screamed angirly, and kept hitting him, but her sword kept bouncing o0ff. "You silly little girl." He laughed, and Zoe jumped in the air, stabbing her sword downwards. "Hate has made you strong, come fight with me, and i will release your brother." He said, and bens kicked and struggled harder. Zoe looked up at him, tears running down her face. Her shook his head no. "I will never help you!" Zoe screamed, and something happened. She started changing, her skin to black scales, and she grew a tail, and wings. Her neck enlongd, and her mouth became a snout along with her nose. She had become a dragon. She roared, and knocked over Aun, making Ben flyout of his hands, and into a tree. "Ben!" She roared, and went after Aun. Aun disapearred, and she started changing to human. She ran over to Ben. "Ben!" She shouted, but she didnt see him, he was no where to be found. "Ben!" She shouted through her tears,a nd ran into the forest, until she tripped. She layed there, crying for a long time. Zoe shook her head, and dodged another tree. "Sorry!" she shouted, lanidng next to Eve. They had arrived at the village. "This place looks so familiar..." She whispered, trying to think of when she was here.

She hopped off Zoe and nearly collapsed. "I remember this place... Two years ago, Aun captured me here... I thought I had lost Elia for forever... I watched Aun throw the knife, but I didn't see where it had hit him." She ran over to an old familliar building. She ran her fingers along the wall until she found it. An old rusted knife and a degrading piece of cloth were stuck in the wall. "He was hit near his shoulder, but it just caught on his clothing..." She glanced around. A few children stood in a group near the building. She almost gasped as she recognized the kids. They had witnessed her capture two years ago.
"He went after me. Elia went after me! He spent the rest of that year searching for me, even though I had already escaped... That's how Elia was lured into Aun's grasp, he used me to get to him. He wanted both of us to come willingly. He told Elia that I was still in his grasp... When Elia fell, he had believed that he could save me... But then he was corrupted during his two years under Aun's thumb..." Terr muttered to herself. "He probably was convinced that I was somewhere in the mansion, but after he dedicated his life to working for Aun to protect me, he probably figured it out that I was free, but was convinced that I didn't love him still, so Aun made a deal with him yet again. Work for him and get the girl. The deal had changed and Elia had forgotten that day... I lost interest in him when he became twisted..." Forget the past, focus on the present. The present is more important. she remembered Elia say when they first met when she was ten, seven years ago.

Zoe shifted to human, and ran into the village, ignoring everyones shouts after her. She was determined. She ran until she came to a small cottage near the middle of the village. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw it. She took a heavy step forward, her feet like concrete, but she ignored it. She walked up to the door, and rubbed the handle. "Dad..." She whispered, tears streaming down her face. "Mom..." She whispered, opening the door slowly. The house was just as she remebered it, when Aun had first come for her and Ben. She went over to the rocking chair her mother had been sitting in reading to Ben that day. She lifted the book from where it was, the exact one Mary was reading to Ben, her and her father. She sat, and opened the book, tears blurring her vision. "Ben, oh Ben." She whispered, standing and setting the book back on the chair. "How i wish mom and dad where still here..." She muttered, walking into a small room, with pink on the walls, along with her old bed, right next to Ben's. She sat on her own, and burried her face in her hands, crying hard. After a few minutes, she stood, and walked out the door. She sat down in the dirt infront of the door. "If he wants me, he'll just have to face me himself." She muttered anger building up inside her. "Because next time i see him, hes going to regret the day he even thought of messing with my family." She said, pulling out her sword, and wiping the dried blood on it with her sleeve.

"Yes, this place is cursed. I was lured her long ago. Eve looked at the ground. "I must confess that Aun still holds me tight. This is the reason I am so afraid of him. He holds my soul and I can't live nor die without it. I am afraid of what I will do in his presence. I am afraid he might still be able to control my body." She sighed heavily. "We should split up and get whatever we need for the next couple of nights. We can meet back here by this house an in hour. I will lead you to the house once we're done. After that, you can decide whether you still want to travel with me or not." She sighed again. The idea of losing her new friends scared her, but she wanted what was best for them and didn’t want to hurt them.

Forget the past, focus on the present. The present is more important. Forget the past, focus on the present. The present is more important. The words scrolled through Terrion's brain like a banner. Food, water, med kit. Food, water, med kit. She scanned the village. She tried to ignore the thirteen-year-old who ran up to her side.
"Hey, I remember you! You're the one who was taken by that man!" Terrion nodded. The boy flashed a faint smile and pointed to a small building to their right. "That's the store, if you travelers need anything, you can get it there. Here," the boy reached into the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a sheet of paper. "take this, you can use it to buy provisions. My dad owns the store. He'll recognize this." Terrion thanked the boy and quickly walked over to the store. She opened the door and walked in. She approached a man and cleared her throat.
The man turned. "Can I help you, young lady?" Terrion nodded and handed the slip over. The man nodded and smiled, then walked to the back of the store. He came back with a couple bundles. "I'll always help travelers. Especially ones who're in a hurry to get ahead of that evil man... I hope he dies one day. He ransacked our village a long, long time ago."

Zoe stood, and raised her head defiantly. i need to find the others... she thought. She walked backt he way she came, and saw Terrion walk into a building, so she followed her. A young girl walked up to her. "Hey! didnt you and a boy live in a cottage here before?" She asked, her voice sweet. "Yeah, we did." Zoe muttered. "How do you remember me? i look a lot different then i used to." She said, and the girl pulled out an old photo. "This." She said, holding it out. It was a picture of Ben and her, and their mother and father. "I found it, in the woods near by." She said, putting it into Zoe's hand. "Keep it." She whispered, and ran off to play. "oh.. ugh, thanks." Zoe said, putting it in her pocket. She didnt want to look at it. She walked into the store after Terrion. "Terr, let me carry those. I need somthing to occupy my mind." Zoe said, taking the bundles from Terrion. She turned to the store keeper. "Thanks." She muttered, avoiding the mans knowing stare.

Eve walked around the town with her head down. She walked into a small cottage by accident. When she looked up, she noticed she was in the place she had first met Egil. There was a very old painting on the wall and she looked at it. "Egil..." she whispered.
"Yes, how did you know?" Eve looked at the man and smiled slightly. "You look just like my great great aunt." He took a locket out from his pocket. "Here, look!" Eve looked at the picture of herself with her long lost love. "What is your name?"
Eve hesitated and decided not to give him her real name. "Eva Artois"
"What a coincidence! Her name was Eve Blackwood. She was cursed by our dark lord and because of that my family lost her and Egil. They were the only ones that stood up for this family. We consider them heroes now. If it weren't for them, we would all be dead now.
Eve hung her head again. "I have heard different stories about them."
The man smiled. "You've heard wrong then. Here, take this. I have another portrait of her. It was an honor to meet you, Eva, but I must go." She watched the man walk away. "Don't give up!"
"Heroes....If only he knew the truth..." she muttered to herself.

"Hey, do you have a bag we can carry these in?" Zoe asked, not looking at the storekeeper. "Of course, let me go get you a bag." He said, walking into the back room, and came back a minute later with a black backpack. He handed it to Zoe. "Havent i seen you before? i mean, as a child." He said. "Yeah, I grew up here." Zoe said, straighting up and looking the man in the eye. "And now, im here for revenge on the man who tried destroying this lovely village." She said, dropping the packages into the bag. "Didnt you have a brother? i remember him, wasnt his name Benedict?" The storekeeper asked. "He goes by Ben now, and yeah, hes my brother." She said, shouldering the bag. "How are you doing? i saw your parents were dead that day." He said, bowing his head. "Its so sad, they were such sweet people." He said, rasing his head. "Well, go on, go do what you must, and your welcome for the things. ill do anything for someone against that evil man." He said, walking to the back room. "Thanks." she muttered, walking out the door.

Terrion thanked the man and turned to walk out the door.
"Wait." She turned back to the man. He beckoned for her to come closer. "Here, take this. It's that knife that was stuck in the wall of my daughter's house. I-I remember that day, I'm so glad you escaped... I-I had a wife who was a Nightshade and was taken by him. She never came back, but that man sent a note." He pulled a sheet of paper out of his pocket. It was worn and the words written in elegant script on it were almost unreadable. "Take them, and kill him for me and my son and daughter." He handed her the knife, clean of rust, and the note. Terrion's expression hardened and she replied:
"I have vowed to strike him down. He corrupted my love and nearly killed my friends and I. I will not rest until he's dead." Not like I can, anyways, Nightshades don't sleep often.

Zoe sat in the dirt under an oak, and started drawing in the dirt with her finger. "Im going to kill you Aun. You took my family away. Im going to make the Vow." She muttered, pulling out her switch blade. She flipped it open, and pricked her finger with it. Shelet a few drops fall onto the picture she drew. It was a picture of a heart, with two crossed rings floating around it. The blood fell onto the picture, and a small plant started to grow rapidly. Zoe held out her hand, and a vine twisted around her hand. "I Vow to avenge my mother and father. I Vow to take Aun's last breath away. I Vow to free me brother, my friends, and Nove and Elia." She said, and the vine tightened, then faded into her skin, leaving a green vine-like tattoo across her hand and wrist. She clenched that fist, the released it. She stood, and kicked dirt over the picture she drew. You must carry out your vows, or else... a voice said in her head, and Zoe shook it away. "I know." She said, going to find Eve.

Rogue hugged herself and blew out an icy breath. She missed Nova. No, she missed the past Nova. A hundred questions whirled in her head. One that stood out from all the rest was, why did he look so much like Egil?? A muttered Vow from under her branch caught her attention. Zoe had just gotten up and gone off. 'This is serious....A Vow??' Rogue frowned. But before she had time to do anything else she felt them. "N-Nova.....Elia.....Ben....." She jumped off her branch. Nova appeared from the trees, placing a finger on her lips. "Shush, love. You wouldn't want Aun to know that we're assissting you, now, would we?" He placed a kiss on her forehead. "God, I've been so stupid. I'm so sorry, Roux...." Rogue hugged him. "It wasn't your fault. It never was...." Nova sighed, pulling away and running a hand through his hair. "It's just....I just wanted to prove myself. And I got so caught up-" Rogue placed a hand on his lips and smiled. "It's okay...." She turned in his arms a little. "By the way, Elia, Ben. Terr and Zoe are in the village gathering stuff. You just missed them."

Eve walked up tp the others. "Is everyone ready? We should get going." and I don't want to stay here any longer, she thought. "The house is this way," she pointed to an overgrown path.

Rogue reluctantly pulled away from Nova. "I'm going to meet up with the rest of them. Aun will be suspicious if you join us." She murmured and dropped her arms. Nova looked like he was going to tell her something but nodded his head. "Alright." He breathed. "Becareful."
