"I've seen my share of fighters on Tython," Brike replied, half to herself as she stared at the crafts manuvering to join them. She frowned and turned in her seat to Radomir. "With so many ships do you think the pirates will suspect something?"

"Oh, of course." Radomir said. "With a ship the size of the Grand Crusader in orbit launching a large transport and several starfighters, it'd be pretty obvious that we're coming for them. No doubt they're preparing for either an ambush or evacuation." The dropship began to rock as it entered the atmosphere.

Oriss gave a slight nod, deciding to leave it as thus.

"I will try to see what I can return in one piece... If he intends to use the stolen goods, though, I cannot promise it'll come back intact."

Digesting this knowledge with some degree of discomfort, Brike let silence be her reply as she gripped her lightsaber, fingering the ingnition button with unease. Let the Force guide me... she told herself quietly, and slipped into a light meditation.

The dropship finally touched down in a small clearing surrounded by forests. Radomir unbuckled his restraints and stood. Outside the viewport, he could see soldiers already leaving the transport, and scouts running into the foliage ahead. "We're going to stay here for a bit until either the fighters or the scouts discover the location of the pirate base."

"Yes sir." Brike said, still staring out the window. Never before had she been in such a place of natural beauty, the tall trees streaching up hundreds of feet into a canopy of emerald green leaves that shimmered in the sunlight, casting dappled shadows to play on the earthen floor. Since they were on the planet's surface she thought this was a good time to try and find the pirates again. Reaching out with the Force, the response was so close and focused that she gasped when she opened her eyes, withdrawing from their signatures like a hand from fire. Standing up and gripping her lightsaber firmly in her right hand she faced Radomir. "Sir, they know we're here and we're already surrounded."

"You'll learn." Jag replied. "That's what you're here for."

"Hey you! Halt!" commanded a somewhat distant voice, sounding as though it had gone through a filter.

Jag turned back, his hand dashing inside his jacket as he did so.
Three Republic Troopers were charging their way, weapons out. The Troopers were the Soldiers of the Republic, no longer composed of clones yet wearing the Phase II armor the Clonetroopers wore a decade ago.

The sight of that white armor made Jag's lips curl back into a wolf like snarl.
Port security must have either been tipped off or figured out pirates were in port. Had they just been suspicious, they would have sent in Port Security, not real soldiers.

"Run to the ship." Jag said to Niomie as he pushed her towards the Vigo. "Don't look back, just keep running until you're onboard."

Jag's free hand drew a nasty, somewhat archaic looking heavy blaster from beneath his jacket and fired, the pinkish blaster bolt slamming into the face of the nearest trooper with a shower of sparks.

“Yes Daddy.” Niomie nodded her understanding and was to ask another question when the shout rang out from behind her. Turning to look over her should and completely oblivious to her fathers slight of hand. After spending many a late night out after curfew Niomie had been the unwilling participant in several chases, but from the local city security. Her eyes went wide at the sight of the gleaming, unsmiling white armor and far more powerful weapons that they carried.

“Run to the ship, don’t look back, just keep running until you're onboard.”

Niomie spun on her heals, and like any proper teenage delinquent when accosted by authority figures, she bolted towards the Vigo. She barley noticed her father hand prodding her on as she weaved through the crowd and into the docking bay. The Vigos ramp was down, and Niomie took its’ length in two long strides, and was stopped cold before her feet touched the deck plates by a barrel chested figure of a man, with very large hands. One of witch had her by the collar and was lifting her off her feet until she was eye to eye with its owner, and she smiled weakly at him.

“Um…Daddy-er…Jag. Troopers!” She stammered, pointing back the way she came in a vain attempt to explain her sudden appearance on board the ship.

Radomir quickly pulled out his comlink. "Defensive positions around the transport!" He looked around the viewport. No sign of attack yet. Radomir exited the dropship cautiously and looked around. He walked over to one of the hovertanks and pointed at one of the trees. "Fire over there," he said to the gunner. The tank turned slightly and two missiles shot out of it. As they flew to their target, Radomir took out a pair of macrobinoculars and saw scuffling in the woods, moving away from the missiles. "They're in the woods around us, fire at will!"

The Muun nodded, escorting her to the door. "We understand and are prepared for such constingencies. Do your best, and good day."

Nine-five looked him dead in the eye, as much as wearing a helmet allowed him to. He clicked his teeth in a gesture of minor annoyance and then stood straight up again, to his full height.

Alright then, Sergeant. Speak freely. But don't forget that every man under my command is responsible for his words.

Her hightened senses excited, Brike drew and ignited her lightsaber in one, swift movement to deflect the hail of blaster bolts that suddenly began to fly out of the woods. Dispite this display of firepower, she knew there were only about a dozen of the pirates surrounding the clearing, and this knowledge made her confident that they would be able to overcome them with ease. "Radomir!" She shouted over the din, sidestepping to get closer to him. "There are only thirteen pirates in the surrounding woods; now they're just trying to intimidate us."

Jag fired again as bolts screamed past him. His shot struck dead on and dropped another trooper.

The man holding Niomie looked from her out to the blasterfight in progress, said a few mandalorian curses and then shouted deeper into the ship.

"Oy! Get th' engines runnin! They're on ta us!" He shouted as he dropped the girl and went for his gun. Free from its holster, his blaster fired a trio of bolts, one of the winging the last trooper in the arm.

Seeing the return fire from his ship, Jag spun on his heel and started charging for the ramp, turning a bit to fire at the last trooper as he withdrew.

As Noimies’ feet touched the deck plates, she immediately stepped out of the way, giving the man room to fire his weapon. Shrugging her pack off her back she moved through the hatch to wait in the corridor, for what seemed like an eternity, until her father came charging up the ramp. The worried expression on her face fadding to relief as she hugged her backpack to her chest.

Oriss left through the door. She had a brief moment of wondering what it would be like to just jump out the window and fall through the air down to the city floor. Shaking her head, her thoughts went back to figuring out this case. First was the scene, although she really didn't think much would turn up there. Then, to this "Koth Melan" the Munn had spoken of. She'd rattle his cages a bit.

The fighter's engines were still warm as she re-entered the cockpit, the breeze picking up. The coordinates from the datapad were entered into the nav computer by her nimble fingers. As the fighter began to lift off and the cockpit sealed, Oriss decided it was about time that she bought a mask.
