Problems That Arise in o0Pinkie0o Leaving:

No Head who isn't in a House:
  • Let me make it known that I am definately NOT leaving my position as Head of Hufflepuff. I like it there and I have no desire to give up my House Pride
  • Personally, I liked having the 4 heads and then the Captain who was in charge and posed a non-house-biased picture
  • Maybe us 4 could create a single Mule that all 4 heads will have access to and it will have Mod powers
    • I realize that this is often frowned upon, but it seems like a logical solution
    • It will also enable:
      • all 4 of us to have access to to the same things, I think the current mods have more than earned it
      • give the mods the ability to edit things even when the Captain(s) are unavailable
      • give a single house-less figure for members to associate with (I think we can all do our best not to be biased while using the account and even if we do it unintentionally, it'll be a 4-way bias)
      • make my life alot easier in a sense that I will not be required to do things on top of all my other duties just because I'm the only one with Captain-ship
      • I hate to think about it, but if I ever seem to disapear without word, or if any mods seem have disapeared and I'm unavailable, we can ensure that the guild wont die because we will be able to continuously update positions and what-not
      • When we let a non-mod run an event, instead of temporary mod-ship, we can give them the password of the mule (after making them agree not to destroy the guild, mule, or in any way take advantage of our trust) We've had a pretty honest guild, so far, I don't think that we will have too many problems with that

The Intro Thread:
  • Should I make a new one, or should we keep the old one?
  • if I'm going to make a new one, do we want it to be exactly the same, or do we want to improve on it
    • possibly make it more simple
    • I've gotten alot of complaints about people not wanting to read everything in the entrance hall
    • we could make a more elborate thread and leave it here
  • We could also make a quick post about when to post in the entrance hall, who can post (again in what situations), and what is ok to post (for example:
we can tell teachers or guild club-type-thing leaders they can post when they make a new lesson or something like that, but they cannot post them in say the "scream" format and if they choose to make a simple image ro post every lesson that there are new lessons for their class, but they can't be 600X600 pixels, because that's madness, people go there to see what's new, they don't need a 600X600 pixel image to do it)

The Contest Thread:
  • who's going to be in charge of it, now that pinkie is gone?
  • what are we going to do about the current un-finished contests?
    • people sent money to pinkie with their vote
    • unless no one has told me, pinkie left neither money nor vote count with us
    • the members have been waiting for quite a bit, I think it would be extremely rude to not finish-up this contest...and especially if it doesn't get finished up before the end of term

Other Threads that Pinkie made:
  • Should I/we re-make them?
    • The Great Hall
    • The Giggling Pear
    • Guild Banners and Linklist
    • Quidditch Team and Rules
    • Harry Potter FanArt Thread
    • The Staff Room
    • The Library
    • The Hospital Wing
    • "Harry Potter Roleplay"
  • since I'm the Hufflepuff Head, it would be weird if I Re-created multiple a-house-discriminatory threads...

That's all that I can think of for now, tell me if you think of anything else.
But other than that, what do you think we should do?

Alrighty...

I still like the idea of the Guild Mule...

But anyways, the contest is my big concern...

I was thinking...
since we don't know what happened with the gold, I'll donate up to 3 March Donation letters for the top three..
I think we should give maybe 3 House points for each mini-banner made.
And, finally...
I say we first have people vote for the person who made their favorite banner, and then we make another vote for which banner was their favorite...

smile
You just have to wait for the next term...
Ther are 4 terms in a year,
Each term last 10 weeks and there's a 2 week break between each term,
except for the Summer Holidays, which last for about 10 weeks as well...
So, after being in the guild for one year, you should be more than half-way done with your schooling at Hogwarts...

Well, first of all, that's why we have the Calendar
it wasn't made just for fun...
second of all,
I think you'll notice that the mods are pretty active...
it'll be hard not to know when the term ends...
Well, tell you...

ok cool..oh and when a forum is lock what does it me an and why is it locked

Well, it's impossible to lock a forum (or at least in the Guild system)
But we mods often lock threads...
And this is for various reasons.
Locking a thread means that no one
(well, lately except for the thread creator, if the creator is a mod)
can post in that thread.
It's done when you either don't want anyone to further that conversation, or else you want to prevent them from posting until a particular moment.

In our guild we lock threads for the following reasons:
-first, every thread in the sub-forum titled "The White Tomb" is locked because that's our archive forum. it is specifically there for sentamental memories and possible records (like checking what someone said about something a long time ago, if you know where to look)
-second, we usually lock threads elsewhere in the guild because we're setting that thread up, so it looks like we want it to before you can post. This is for many reasons but I'd say the most important one is that it's an easy way to keep people from posting before they read the first few posts.
-finally, we also lock threads when there shouldn't be anyone talking in them at that time, then we unlock them later, then lock them again. Examples of this are the Sorting Hat and the Hogwarts Express.

I hope that helped...

They're Gryffindors of last Term
(the ones who won the cup...)
We changed Gryffindor Heads between this term and the last one...
