"Thank you so much. You are very kind." Anya bowed her head. She took one of the chips and dipped it in the salsa and took a bite. "Oh wow. This is good. It definately tastes homemade." she smiled. "So, what's it like, living all these years?" she asked before taking another bite.

Nich walked over to Izzy and stood beside her looking down at the flowers. He had never enjoyed flowers too much, but he'd seen his fair share of plants.

"Ever feel like you didnt have a reason to anything at all?"

Izzy sighed. "At times. Not very often though...I'm pretty easily distracted and entertained..." Like most humans, Izzy wasn't very good at concentrating. Even now she was moving something. She had to do something always or she would go crazy. Literally.

Nich chuckled... and then looked sideways at her with a warm smile.

"I know exactly how you feel. I was in a similiar situation once. I moved on and loneliness became my company. Let me ask you this.... do you often give in to your hunger?"

Izzy shook her head. Though her hunger had a voice, and it was constantly annoying her, she never gave into it until she was ready. "I won't stand for loneliness. Even if there are no people, nor vampires, left then I shall still have my music. I can't ever be lonely if I atleast have that. Izzy smiled

"Give your complements to the cook. I can't cook to save my life," Gitano said with a laugh. She then waved her had in front of her face, "You don't have to stand on ceremony. Cut the formal talk." She sat back down and leaned the chair back. "It's both a freedom and a curse. You can take all the time you want to learn all you want, but you have to move on before they notice that you don't age. But as with life you have to take the good with the bad." Here she closed and shrugged. She had never been asked that question so she didn't know what to say.

"Well I can understand why it would be a curse. Definately." Anya picked up another chip and dipped it in the salsa, taking a bite. She waited until she swallowed to speak again. "Have you ever been to the French Quarter? I hear that place is very haunted and has alot of vampires."

"You shouldnt fight it.... "Nich said this in a somber attitude."We are more creatures of habit and instinct than the humans we once were, denal of such a thing will not civilize you, but only deteriorate you. As for lonelines... give it 400 more years."

"Right..." Baylor said after Nich told him to control his hunger. He didn't quite understand what he ment, but he let it go. He turned his attention back to the skies, admiring the majesty of the twinkling lights.

Gitano snorted a laugh at Anya's comment about the French Quarter. "Plenty of times. Both before and after the war. As to the ghosts: Yeah, they're there. Can't see them, but I've seen some of the tricks they play. For the Vampires: Of course they're there. Just don't expect to find Louis or Lestat. Just as there are no Cullens in Forks Washington."

Anya laughed a bit. "I know. But a girl can dream can't she?" she joked. "But anyway, I haven't been out of the state, but I hope to go to the French Quarter someday." she said somewhat dreamily.

Willow smiled slightly, but it didn't reach her eyes. "That's what I was thinking, that's why I didn't freak out... If you were going to hurt me you would've done it by now..." She laughed slightly, but it sounded forced and a bit watery, like she was trying not to cry. Was he really telling the truth? But she knew he wasn't lying, he wasn't offering to prove it, and she knew from experience that people like that were always the honest ones. She took a long breath and chewed on her bottom lip, a habit that she had ridded herself of two years ago. "Honestly, I have no idea how I feel... Why don't you tell me?" She asked him, trying to smile and laugh again but knowing it came off looking slightly afraid and forced. Was she feeling betrayed? Not really, she didn't know him that well, and she understood needing to hide things... Scared, hell yes, one would have to be an idiot not to be afraid when you first meet a vampire! Interested... that was a given, she was curious to a fault. Happy? She had no clue..

Zane's expression shifted slightly in the moments of her answers. At first it remained a bit worried, but when he realized she wasn't going to freak out to badly he began to smile happily. After all someone other than his fellow vampires now knew his secret and hadn't attempted to run away.

"Honestly Willow, I couldn't begin tell you how to feel."
He laughed slightly "Although it would take a complete moron not to be afraid at all, right?"
For a moment Zane's attention turned to the candle on the table, his eyes gazing into the flame as he thought about what he was going to say.
"Just remember I haven't yet forgotten how to feel things." His smile was comforting, but it could make one think if it was an act and that he was faking the smile. "After all its only human to feel right?" His words may have rolled off his tongue but they brought about feelings of nostalgia as he spoke of himself as a human.
It was then he cleared his throat, Zane felt if she knew what he was she had a right to know the truth about something.

Earlier I told you that story from a few years back correct?" Zane nodded as if answering for her. "Anyway it may not make a difference but I hate lying if I can help it.
"That being the case, Those so called few years ago that I witnessed a street urchin being fed on by a vampire...Well that was more like 100 years ago, almost 101 years ago as a matter of fact. The boy I mention just happened to be me. The story was about the night I was changed...By Lady Redwood. I was nineteen when I was turned, and some how when I awoke I knew of this place here" Zane swung his arm out as if to make sure Willow knew he meant the mansion.
Zane now awaited her answers and reactions, and sadly in a sense he felt childish because it felt like a back and forth game to him. It had been a long time, and normally the only ones who knew of his secret were getting ready to die or something along those lines.

(( *sarcasm* I feel so wonderful about that "normally the only people who knew were getting ready to die" thing...))

She took a deep breath and forced herself to relax, forced herself to stare into the flickering light and half go into a trance. Willow needed time to wrap her mind around things; she'd heard of psychic vampires and therianthropes, but they were only human and Zane... definately wasn't. He wasn't crazy or lying, he was too calm, too worried about her reactions, and Willow just knew he wasn't trying to fool her. Still, his words almost made her feel better, the slight laugh, the talk of emotions, and particularly how he was letting her in on his origins.

In a half trance, eyes blank and dazed, Willow smiled. "I can't imagine what it's like..." She sighed, and then she snapped back for a second and flashed a smile that wasn't so out of it, "I don't want to know first hand, just so you know, but... What's it like being turned? I've... heard a lot of things, and... What's it really like living for so long?" She asked him, her teeth already gnawing on her lip again though she knew she was doing it and was trying to stop. In her mind Willow was already starting to relax into her new situation, already starting to handle it, and her intial shock was being replaced by sympathy: Willow was one of not very many people who knew that more often than not being immortal was more curse than blessing.

"It is a beautiful place. Another place you might like is St. Augustine Florida. It's one of the most haunted cities in the US. Doesn't help that it's the oldest European city in America." Gitano smiled, her eyes roaming the patio. She caught snippets of the other's conversations, but she didn't listen in on them for to long before returning her attention to Anya.

"Oh, I'd love to go there. I'd love to go to the lighthouse. I've never been in one." Anya said somewhat excidedly. She took another chip and ate it, then stood up. "Excuse me. I'm going to go walk in the garden. I can't resist anymore." she smiled.

((I live in FL and have been to ST. Augustine! Cool huh?))
