((Did you not notice that Matt extinguished the flames on his arms? He is as he was when they began. I'll give you the chance to change that if you'd like, or I can just continue with it as it is if you don't want to.))

"Yup!" Emma said with a smile, nodding vigorously. Excited that Malkin said they might end up sparring. "Could be the funnest thing that happens all day."
When the pair arrived at the Arena, Emma waved to the crankmen. "Any hints on who's fighting today?"
One of the crankmen nodded, "Gotta couple faces... Matt's in there somewhere with a blonde kid with a halberd. William and the guy with the funny name... Sol, are dukin' it out... There are a few more, but I don't quite 'member them."
Emma nodded again, "Actually, that would be awesome. Please, the floor you think Matt and the kid's on please." She turned to Malkin then, "Told ya'! And the kid's actually pretty cool. Not that I've really talked to him much..." Emma scratched her cheek.
Train smirked, "I never called you lazy, though I certainly wouldn't deny it." Train chuckled as he motioned for Kiro to go first, it would help him with the whole depth perception thing. "And call it what you want, you're still lazy. Mister night person." Train laughed again.
(Yes, I did notice it. But Isaac would rather not risk it. It's not like I'm going to be trying to shoot Matt.)

(The bullets for flintlock weapons, if I remember correctly, I may not, but they are round. I'm using them more like marbles. And even if they aren't, they would serve as a distraction if he were to suddenly step on something. Also, the bullets were still just metal, so they would melt rather than 'shoot'.
I think.)

Kiro led Train to the Arena. Kiro wasn't slacking around as he was earlier, he was more motivated now and wanted to meet up with his new team.
(( Ehh, I don't know if it was okay to jump to the arena all suddenly or not... So I made the small post. I'm sorry! ))

Matt took another step forward, preparing to lunge forward and begin his offensive. As his foot came down he felt that the floor was oddly uneven and as his full weight came down something beneath his shoe rolled and his balance was suddenly gone. His foot went forward while the rest of his weight went backwards.
Bullets!? Neat trick, kid, but it ain't gonna work so well on me.
The gem in his forehead lit up with a brilliant inner light as he fell. He threw out his arm and twisted his hips as he fell, to catch himself and roll back to his feet. As he came down his entire body went up in a blinding column of searing flames.
((No worries, Azure. Gotta keep things moving along, don't we.))

Malkin looked up thoughtfully. He hadn't ever been to the arenas before. Wasn't really interested in them. He finished up his cigarette, putting it into the trash thing near the elevator. "I suppose. If he is new, then he'll need to be careful. Too many body bags from young idiots." Glancing into the arena, he saw a boy with a halberd and a pillar of fire. What in the bloody hell? his mind boggled. Fire wasn't good. One can't do much against a pillar of fire.

Train patted Kiro on the shoulder, "See, not so bad. And look, there's Emma and Malkin." Train read a lot of dossiers, so even if people didn't know him, he probably knew them. "That's right... I owe Emma a little something, don't I?" Train smiled as he asked the crankmen to follow after them. "I have something for Emma real quick, I hope you don't mind." Train told Kiro. If Emma hadn't been there already, Train would have done what she did and ask the crankmen.
At the pillar of fire, Train knew that Matt was the one on this particular floor. Who ever he was fighting was very unlucky and either very brave or very stupid. Perhaps malinformed, that was possible.
Train took great care in sneaking up on Emma, just slightly more silent than a spider on carpeting. And he slapped her in the back of the head mid-sentence.
"Oh, it's fine. That's Matt, one of your- Ow!" Emma shouted as she leaned forward but then reeled backwards, ready to back hand her assailant. Her hand was met with a forearm and the words, "Payback! Ha!"
"Train! I'll kill you if you ever do that again! What is wrong with you!?" Emma could easily admit that she was probably overreacting a little, but she never did like small, annoying pains. Emma was furious, Train laughed next to her. "Mission accomplished, Kiro. It looks like you may have lucked out, Matt's here with some kid, is that him?"
Isaac grinned as Matt lost his balance. His ruse worked, albeit much less effective than he would have liked. Isaac's hand shot for his pouch again as he rushed forward, seeing the fire flare up into a pillar. "It would take a little longer than one swing to melt my halberd, and even a slightly melted bullet can be dangerous in the air." Isaac thought as he drew a single bullet. He would be covered and unable to be seen through the pillar, and Isaac's reach was a lot further than Matt's. He whipped the bullet straight through the pillar to serve either as an attack or distraction. This action was followed quickly by a spin by Isaac to build momentum for the halberd sweeping through.
(Horizontal sweep at about chest level through the pillar. XD )

Wreathed in swirling flames Matts vision was partially obscured by his own fire. He could make out Isaac in front of him, but only in fleeting glimpses, that was the downside to using his fire abilities at full power. He felt and heard several pings as multiple small somethings bounced off of his breastplate. He knew he would have to drop his flames, at least to a more manageable level, in order to continue. He crossed his gauntleted arms high over his neck and face and began to will his flames to diminish.

Isaac could barely contain his joy. As the flames started to lower, his halberd was on its way in. Matt's arms were up near his head, not his body. It was like the best gift someone could give. Isaac planted his feet and turned his halberd so the flat of the blade would hit Matt, rather than try and cleave him in two. Isaac thought quickly of a follow up attack. As the blade bounced off of Matt's side Isaac spun and hopped backwards, swinging his halberd around and up vertically to try and hit Matt again, but he wouldn't be able to use the flat of his blade again. It just wouldn't work, Matt would hopefully move however.
(Sorry, but you did leave him totally open. The follow up is a retreating uppercut type deal.)

((I left him open on purpose so you could make the hit.))
As Matts flames came down so that they only enveloped his arms again he felt a strike collide with his breastplate. There was a resounding clang from the impact. Matt braced himself against the impact so that he was not tossed to his side by it. He brought his arms down so that he could see over the flames, just in time to see Isaac fall back a step and swing his halberd back up towards his face. Matt sidestepped and strafed in towards Isaac, on his left side. His gauntletted left hand lashed out to catch the halberd by the topmost part of the shaft, just below the blade, while he swung a backhand at Isaac's face with his right.

John finished his lunch and went back to the smithy so he could get some of the long list of orders that needed to be filled for various members of the Corp.
Leroy finished up, and for Leroy meant reaching the point where he couldn't even hold onto the branch and he fell, landing on his feet and taking a few steps back to maintain his balance. Sweat poured over him. "Time to take a nice long shower." And with that he returned to the dormitories.
A while later he emerged from the dormitories again wearing all his gear including his gauntlets. "Time to check out the arena." He made the walk munching on a small bag of jerky that he had made himself. He walked in and went to the elevator. He looked over to the men who ran the elevator, "Fine day boys, who we all got here today?"

"Mathew and one of the newer guys are goin' at it. And Emma just came in with another guy I didn't recognize. Then Kiro and Train came in after them." One of the crank men answered. "You want us to take you up there?"

"Yeah, sounds good." Leroy stepped into the elevator and waited for them to take him up to the level with the combatants on it. ((*Jams to elevator music*))

The crank men waited until Leroy was inside the cage, then shut the gates. They disengaged the locks and cranked the elevator up to the floor that Matt had gone to, and everyone else after him. Once there the reengaged the locks and opened the gates.
"There you are, sir." They said to Leroy.
((Just for future reference, when bringing your characters to the Arena, feel free to RP the crank guys. You don't all have to wait on me for them...))
