OOC: I don't think she's on Gaia anymore...her avatar now's a blank...from what I saw on the original RP thread after we were heading to Halconia anyway. I tried to re-update her when she had popped in...like page 60 something, but I don't think she's ever reached to that point after that. sweatdrop sweatdrop

Well, now that school is over for me for now (before summer school that is), let's get this RP back working!
IC:
Naoko looked around for an exit as the tremors returned, this time much more violently than the first one. Nida and Phey braced for something to hold onto but could only find the floor. The Mistress of Void stuck Shinken into the ground and held on for her balance, but the tremors were too harsh for her to stand.
"Well, that's just great!" Phey shouted over the noise. More mirrors broke around them and those that were already shattered flew. "Why can't we talk to them now?"
"I don't know!" Naoko shouted back, wincing as a mirror shard sliced by her arm.
"Can't we get out of here?" Nida asked. She had less clothing than the other two, and both women could see that she was getting more cuts from the mirrors than they did.
Naoko frantically looked around for the entrance they got into, but with all the shaking, it was hard for her eyes to focus. And this earthquake didn't seem to want to stop.
No help from their guardians, hampered down by and earthquake, and far from the aid of the others, all that the three women could do was to endure as long as possible.

As she dug through her bag everything that touched Daewyn's blistered hands gave her a jolt of pain. She bit her lip, tears welling in her eyes, but she bravely continued her search until her hands clasped a bottle of salve and some bandages. "Bryce, distract him for me!" she gasped as she dashed off into the trees. Hiding behind a bush, she administered the treatment to her hands as quickly as she could in her wounded condition.
From the corner of her eye she saw Ifrit pushing himself up off the ground, his fiery eyes searching the direction he heard her voice and footsteps come from. Hurry, child! I think he's seen you! Terra warned.

s**t, looks like I'll need to get up close and personal this time.
That would be best, since neither of us knows the next time we'll be able to get more ammo. Plus, it looks like that flaming thing won't be hurt much by bullets. The impact would hurt, but not enough.
*Baikasu finishes the three shots off on the opposition, killing an imp with two shots, the 2nd of the three missing it's mark. After that, he reloads it and puts it back were it goes when not in use. He then takes out Kasiko[his sword] and aproaches the fray, trying to get near Shuichi without alerting Ifrit to his presence. Baikasu wouldn't be much of a match in a fair fight with Ifrit[I *think* Ifrit's here], whatwith his leg the way it is, so he'll have to hope that Shuichi can aid his leg.. at least enough so he can run and jump without worsening the damage.*
OOC: It'll be a while 'till I'm completely aware of everything that's going on again. ^^;; It'll take a while to get back into my roll, as well.

((Yes, you, me, Bryce, and Shuichi are all fighting Ifrit. I'm in the trees hiding while I heal my hands, Bryce and you are on either side of Ifrit, and Shuichi is on the other side of the battle from you, a little ways off))

OOC: Man...I suck at life. Sorry for being away so long...I've definitely got a reason to be back now. 3nodding Oh, and thank you so much Ayame for finishing it. I'll be sure to read it very soon.

*Bryce glances at the oncoming imps, bracing himself for their assault*

*Hearing the shout from Daewyn, he leapt over the imps and dashed toward her, slicing open any that got in his way*
Alright, I've got you covered.
*He quickly conjured up an ice spell and tossed it at Ifrit's head. The fire demon turned to look at Bryce, who suddenly felt rather small.*
s**t. He's a little big.
Well, yeah. Guess you didn't think before attacking. Good job there. Now get your stuff together and distract him!
Yeah, yeah. I know.
*Bryce jumped into the air and began circling Ifrit, just out of his reach.*
Lets hope she hurries...I can't do this forever.
OOC: Question-should we go ahead and NPC Shuichi til you find a replacement?

OOC: It'll pretty be much how we did it when Shuichi had still left oh so long ago sweatdrop , so yes, go on ahead and NPC him for the meantime.
I would post something new and exciting on my part...but I honestly forgot what I was going to type up. Kinda hard when you're stuck in a crystal building, waiting for doom... xd

((Cid can you NPC Shu? I don't remember hardly anything about his abilities other than his fox-thing and the freezing of the time sweatdrop ))
Daewyn finished the clumsy bandages on her hands, ignoring the pain that kept seering in spite of the salve. She looked up in time to see Ifrit bearing right down on Bryce, who was beginning to have difficulty dodging the monsterous beast.
You'd better hurry, child. I've fought an Ifrit before, it's going to take all of you working together to bring him down.
You don't have to tell me twice. Daewyn quipped back, diving back under the earth and maneuvering under the frey. Tell Bryce and Shuichi I'm going to try and trap him so try and stay back, and hurry! Terra did not respond but simply relayed the message, knowing the young adept was going to need all her concentration to pull this trick off.
A minute or two later Daewyn had gathered the right amount of concentration and released the tension she built up, sending massive spikes of granite soaring up from deep under the earth and forming a ring of stalagmites that formed a virtual prison that reached a hundred feet in the air.

That was impressive Daewyn.
*Shuichi, watching from a distance, looks up into the air at the towering spikes that just surrounded the rampaging Ifrit.*
Alrighty Anubi, we need to get started on this thing. I have a feeling he's going to melt those spikes as soon as he gets the chance, so we need to be prepared. Any suggestions?
Well...you could always go for the obvious Ice spell...
True. But one ice spell won't take him out. He's huge.
You're forgetting something. You're not alone Shuichi.
...Of course! I got it!! Bryce, Daewyn, I've got an idea of how to beat this thing!
((OOC: I'll try to NPC him...I'll have to try and remember his demeanor and Anubi's. Ayame, do you have any recollection? And sorry it took so long for a response... sweatdrop Also...do we have any interested new people to fill in gaps? Or new characters to add in? We can always pull a "Space Cases" and switch characters through some dimension. wink ))

OOC: From what I remember, Anubi was very much like a really old and trusting advisor to Shu...Shu's character is only 15...so a bit of some teenage problems there sweatdrop At least that's what I remember.
I apologize for not doing anything on my part...I have to figure out what I'm going to do with the group that I'm in right now (darn school...)
Um...and Kaede said she wanted to do someone...right? *looks at Kaede* Other than that, though, I haven't gotten much reply from anyone else...

Daewyn wriggled her way up from the ground and took a defensive stance next to Shuichi and Bryce. "What's your idea Shu? I've trapped him for now, but that's not gonna hold, and it was hard to gather that granite... I won't be able to do something like that again."
She shuddered as Ifrit pounded and blasted at the thick spikes. Daewyn could feel the hard stone groaning from the abuse it was taking. I'm sorry... there was no other way...
The earth understands that, child. Terra responded. Don't fret. I'm not going to say it's gonna get easier, but in time you'll understand better... about the sacrifices you need to make... and the ones you must ask others to make for you... sometimes even the earth must pay. But now is not the time for this. Focus on what's in front of you. There is much more you can yet do...

OOC: Hi guys, I'm the Kaede person. I'm working on catching up on what's going on right now, but I don't want to know too much about characters because then'd I'd feel like I was meta-gamin sweatdrop . I was wondering how you guys would feel about strategically killing off Phey and letting me insert a new character to take their place. I don't want to throw the rp off kelter much, so I thought I'd try and get your guys input, be it in here or the general chat area. Thanks, and hope to hear back from everyone.
